About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
Founded in 1913, this family-run, Italian-Creole restaurant is located in uptown New Orleans. It is famous for creating barbecued shrimp.

This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar is always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty, and delicious.

The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties, and delicious steaks.

In 2023, Dickie Brennan & Co. welcomed Pascal's Manale into their restaurant family.

I have never eaten mozzarella sticks as soft as these, the wedge salad was high quality and the grilled redfish was elite.

An old standby, but a phenomenal place in New Orleans. The bbq shrimp is the best for a reason.

We had a wonderful dinner at Pascal's Manale last night. The drinks at the bar were great, and Mr. Thomas at the oyster bar was outstanding as usual, sharing his insights into New Orleans culture while serving up delicious oysters. The hostess (whose name escapes me) was incredibly welcoming. Huge kudos to Mr. Keith, our server, whose recommendations for dinner and wine were spot on! Our party of 4 had the best time!

Again, thank you sir! Cheers, Lee (AGM)

Sunday evening we took 2 couples who had not been to Pascal’s before. We had been before and loved the food and service. Less than 6 tables of guest at any one time. Server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and wanted our experience to be the best. Unfortunately, our main course took over an hour to arrive. The cheese App was tasty but visually terrible. Server was disappointed and had it remade. Second helping was even better. Several ordered their famous Bar-b-qshrimp. Loved it. However; one main course (veal & bar-b-w shrimp) was inedible. Server commented on how over cooked it was and they should not have sent it out. They took it off the bill. Another main course (steak) was sent back because very overcooked. The 2nd steak was just as bad. Inedible. Didn’t charge us. We’ll give it another try but we won’t recommend Pascale’s again until we have the experience have been used to.

First time at this iconic restaurant, meeting a long time lover of the location for lunch. Services was excellent, food was solid but nothing special. BBQ shrimp and grits was watery, catfish well fried but sauce was nothing special. Brad pudding was excellent. Oddly the bread, while warm, was rock hard…very atypical for a Brennan’s place. There was a quite pungent smell in the lobby. Hope to return for the oyster bar another time.

Hey John, Thank you for choosing Pascal's Manale and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our service but it appears we could have improved on the Shrimp and Grits and possibly kick up the flavor in the catfish sauce. It's always our goal to provide a satisfying dining experience, and we're sorry to hear that our BBQ shrimp and grits and catfish didn't deliver. Thankfully, the bread pudding hit the mark! Also, your feedback about the bread is noted, and we'll certainly look into this. Sincerely, Lee (AGM)
