This neighborhood restaurant is vintage New Orleans, from the service to the decor. The oyster bar always manned by a friendly shucker. The oysters are fresh, salty and delicious.
The old time oyster bar and cocktail bar offers raw oysters on the half shell and all types of cocktails. We offer fine seafood, Italian specialties and delicious steaks.

A wonderful friend’s weekend! Our first night in town. Close to our place & walkable. Impeccable service & food was excellent quality.
My favorite restaurant.
Great food. Will return
Very enjoyable evening.
I had fond memories of this place and really enjoyed it in the past. Their famous barbecue shrimp were mealy in texture and not very flavorful. They packed us into the room like cord wood. Tables were close and there has been nothing done to mitigate the noise. I have good hearing and had to lean in to hear the specials from my server. This was the worst meal I had all week in New Orleans and the most expensive.
The dining room was so loud we could not hear the waitress tell us the specials due to 2 tables being very rude screaming at their table. They offered to move us after our meal was half completed.
Wonderful meal! Can’t wait to go back.
The food was amazing! Very fresh and well prepared. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would recommend eating here not only for the great food, but if you are like me and staying in the French Quarter, it was nice to get out of there for an evening. We took the St. Charles streetcar and it was only 2 or 3 blocks away.
Even though new ownership .... still my favorite New Orleans neighborhood restaurant. Raw oysters were great as well as appetizer crab cake. Famous BBQ shrimp did not disappoint ! Service was perfect.
Terrific again! The Fish Pasquale is delicious! And the Bread pudding for dessert is yummy!
Outstanding hidden neighborhood gem! You'll see barbecued shrimp on other menus but none will come close to the flavors of this rendition - the original. During our week-long stay we had bread pudding at four different restaurants and this one was my favorite - the most authentic with rich textures and flavors. Well worth seeking out.
BBQ shrimp sandwich was bland. Needed more seasoning.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times through the years. The service was excellent and I love the old New Orleans neighborhood atmosphere however the food was not up to par on this particular evening. The gumbo left a lot to be desired and the barbecue shrimp, the main reason I came here to eat, were Luke warm and lacked the seasoning that I have enjoyed so many times in the past. I will definitely be back. Maybe the chef just had a bad night!
This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with great barbecued shrimp.
Maybe the best Italian meal I’ve ever had in Nola in 30 years. Spaghetti was to die for delicious. New ownership has kept the traditions and upped their game.
Awsome, as always!! Do not miss dining at this gem of a restaurant!!
Great food and great service! Good selections on the menu as well as wonderful specials for the evening. Highly recommend.
Always always wonderful. Fantastic food and ambience.
Great value, good food and people! Handles Mardi Gras madness better than anyone!
One of our favorite classic restaurants in New Orleans. Wonderful dining experience!
Good restaurant, good food, service too fast in my opinion, so 4 stars but not a 5 stars
We brought friends for their first visit. BBQ Shrimp was so off! No flavor. Have no idea what happened. Mardi Gras is not the time to lose the salt.
We were here mid afternoon
Place is clean, nice, and comfortable
Food is fine
BBQ shrimp were not as good as I remember. The oysters bienville and Rockefeller were so-so. Too bad because I remember it used to be one of my favorite places!
Excellent as usual. The best fresh oysters in NO!
This is a popular bar and restaurant on Napoleon Avenue at the edge of the Garden District that is in a quiet neighborhood. Good cocktail and dinner menus that offer some very presentable Italian fare-- not your pizza and spaghetti joint. We were there on foot because Napoleon and Saint Charles were closed for a Mardi Gras parade, so its accessibility was perfect. Friendly place, very reasonable prices, well-prepared food that was promptly served. I love veal piccata. It was tasty, with lots of butter, lemon and capers. The veal itself was fresh but not your melt-in-the-mouth tender.
Restaurant had an Old New Orleans feel. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The number of food options exceeded expectations. The quality and quantity of each serving was very good for a luncheon meal. The price point was a better value than many comparable high end restaurants in the city. The bar area has the feel of an establishment with a long history and community roots. The warm french bread was a nice touch.
The best Italian seafood dish I’ve ever had which was the Shrimp Fra Diavolvo with extra garlic! We also had great service and a server that was very knowledgeable not only about the menu and extensive wine selection but also the history of this hundred plus year establishment.
No doubt this will be my go to place when traveling to Nola.
we count this as one of our favorite restaurants. The service is warm, the food is always great and we love the atmosphere.
Maintains the charm of an old New Orleans restaurant and the high quality of traditional New Orleans/Italian food. Everyone knows about the Barbecue Shrimp, and they keep doing it well; but the Veal Marsala is one of the best I've had. And the Crabcake appetizer is superbly more lump crab than cake. Wait staff makes you feel comfortable while they are still being attentive. I thought the trout special a bit over-the-top with a lovely piece of trout absolutely drowned in a butter sauce; and the crabmeat, sprimp stuffing a bit irrelevant. Save the crabmeat for that appetizer.
My wife had eaten barbecued shrimp here almost 50 years ago, so she wanted to see if it was still as good as she remembered. She gave the shrimp a thumbs-up, and I enjoyed the Chicken Bordelaise. The bartender was just plain rude—walked by me about six times while I tried unsuccessfully to get his attention to pay for my drink. Our waiter was nice, but inattentive.
We had a great experience. The food and service were outstanding.
Great local place. Been there forever. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The shrimp are great!
The food was amazing! We got oysters and calamari to start. I ordered the crabmeat and scallops which were so good! My husband ordered the BBQ shrimp which he raved about! We will absolutely be back!
The food was fantastic. The BBQ shrimp were excellent. Sauce worth dipping bread into.
My friend had the Stuffed trout and said it was best he had ever had. We were given
appropriate service, never over powering. Great dining experience.
CLEAN, ROOMY, & FOOD VERY DELICIOUS , GREAT SERVICE
When we first arrived, it was hard to hear each other, because of two large loud groups finishing their meal. But after they left, the quiet was nice! Food was great. Friendly waitstaff. Fun way to show off NOLA to an out-of-towner.
Good mixture of classic Italian and New Orleans favorites in a laid back atmosphere.
Still a classic.
