Amanda was our server on a fairly quiet Tuesday night post Sac Dine Out. We had a $75 gift card and just spent like there was no limit to the card. We had the duck Confit appetizer, a negroni and a sazarac cocktail, both excellent, split a ceasar salad (so so), the pork chop entree and the GIANT sombrero (3) beef ravioli entree, each with a glass of wine (pork with the Tilph pinot and the Paragary select with the ravioli...both very enjoyable) Amanda was very helpful with recommendations on a variety of choices and just conversational and absent as needed. We get exceeded our gift card but as it was a birthday celebration, that seemed ok and appropriate. An excellent evening overall.
We took advantage of the Downtown Dining week 3 courses fixed price menu. Everything was really delicious. A great way to try something I would ordinarily not think to order. Definitely a place we will go to again.
The meal was grand, we had Prix Fixe vegan. That's a hard thing to get. The only thing I would change is to get the noise level down a bit.
The staff, including our wait-person were attentive but not intrusive - great training!
Food and service were excellent. First time visitor, will definitely return.
My husband and I visited Paragary's specifically because you offered a vegan selection during Dine Downtown. Thank you for that. We were so impressed that the chef came up with a creative and delicious entrée -- not just pasta. And the soup was fabulous. In addition, our server was wonderful -- so friendly accommodating. Once when I was looking around, another server came over to see if I needed something. Very impressive. I also appreciate that all our dishes were whisked away as soon as we were finished So many restaurants make you sit there with dirty dishes. I was a little surprised at how loud the restaurant was -- but it was a busy Saturday night. And it was fairly warm -- the servers must have been very warm. We sat at a two top on the other side of the bar. There was this two-tiered cart right next to us -- and we noticed that the staff had to dodge it every time they went by. It really doesn't add anything to the ambience except maybe an accident waiting to happen. Thank you again for making the effort to provide an excellent plant-based dinner!
We had the Dine Downtown menu which was a great price and value. The soup and the main course, the chicken, were just too salty. We love Paragary’s and will be back but hope the food will be less salty. Thank you
Meeting a cousin for catch up, she was running late but never felt rushed, even got to stay longer than the typical seating etc.
The vegetarian/vegan items on the Dine Downtown menu was the best! Hope they have it on their regular menu.
Had a great dine downtown experience. The food was delicious and hearty. Great vegan options!!
Outstanding baguette steak. And the halibut special was outstanding. Service and timing great. Off to B St after the dinner. Parking a breeze.
Went for Dine Downtown, had an incredible 3 course meal. Highlight was the charred veggies. We come here often (usually orser the steak) and always have a great experience!
Halibut crust was a lovely color and crunchy but salty. Roasted vegetables were good. I especially liked the bok choy. The sliced red chili was good but hot and I couldn't tell exactly what the other vegetables were.
Everything was really yummy, great customer service too. Best dine downtown menu!
Forced to wait 30 min for our table after showing up on time for our reservation...ooops...
Service and setting were very nice but the food was only so-so. Lacking in the wow factor. Best item of the night ended up being a ginger ice cream sandwich we finished with. This is a nice restaurant and would be a great spot to enjoy a drink with friends.
The food were delicious except my ravioli dish arrived like warm. Otherwise everything was good
One of our local favorites! Ate at the bar this time. No matter where you are seated it has the bets ambiance.
As vegans, we were blown away by the three course vegan choices included in the "Dine Downtown Restaurant Week." The cocktails were unbeatable, too. Our young kids, ages 13 and 11, were thoroughly satisfied, as well, and we appreciate the kids' menu. Thank you, Paragary's, for perfecting every detail and offering beautiful, healthy, and delicious vegan options. It couldn't have been any better.
Tried Paragary’s for the first time with brunch...it was so delicious we went back for dinner that night. Both meals were so delicious, the service was exceptional and the restaurant is charming. The lemon ricotta pancakes are out of this world, can’t wait to eat them again
Our experience at Paragary’s went pretty good. The service, food & atmosphere: excellent!
We are regulars. Why? Because it is predictably good every single time. Food is great, servers are engaging and informed, the place is beautiful, parking is easy. All these things matter. Post-theater, out of town friends, whatever the occasion, one cannot go wrong when choosing Paragary's.
Lovely birthday celebration! Great food and great service!
It was not busy yet we waited 10 minutes for our waitress. She was very slow and at one point, we saw her standing in the corner by the bar doing nothing. The best part of our meal was the salad. My dinner came with carrots. I asked if I could get another vegetable instead, I was able to substitute brussels sprouts. My food came with carrots and my husband's with brussels sprouts. I ordered med rare beef and it came out medium well. All vegetables were undercooked. Had to use a knife to cut through them. No, I would not recommend this place.
Amazing food, great service. My first time, despite having grown up in Sacramento. Reputation is well deserved.
Great dinner - food was amazing - and wonderful service!
Paragary's is one of our favorite Sacramento restaurants! We recently took our son and his wife there for a birthday dinner. The food and service were excellent! We ordered the pork chop, salmon, fettuchini and sea bass. No disappointments as everything was delicious!
We realize it was New Year’s Eve so prices were a bit higher; however, our salad was really small, there were just a few pieces of broccolini and not sure if there was supposed to be potatoes or something under the meat? We think there was a bite? It’s almost like you rationed the last of the food. You were out of the braised ribs and gnocchi.
Baileys and coffee was served in a regular coffee mug with no whipped cream.
The atmosphere was great - lively and festive. Service was great - Maria.
When we spend that much for dinner, we want to feel it’s worth it and we want to say “Mmmmm...” after each bite. Unfortunately, it was just OK.
Lovely waiter, excellent food, excellent drinks. Slight issue with timing, it was a half hour past our reservation time when we were seated and they informed us that two of the prefix items had run out just after we were seated. Overall I would return to this restaurant but be prepare for some unexpected changes.
Disappointed in New Years Eve. Paragarys is always a great restaurant to go to but New Years Eve was an exception. Overbooked, uncertain service, food mediocre and overall chaotic. Did pre fix meal with wine pairing. Not one wine with a course, delivering multiple wines at a time...overall dreadful.
I know they were extremely busy but they need much better planning.
This was our venture to try 2019 NYE Celebrations with our close friends. The meals and wine pairings were excellent! Our service was impeccable and stellar throughout the evening. Looking forward to coming back as soon as we can. We have noted that Paragary’s has not disappointed us at all in all the times we have been there. Hoping for more wonderful dining and entertainment experiences to come. Happy New Year!
The menu is seriously lacking ... one half of a page of the front menu is dedicated food and the other side plus the entire back is all drinks/wine. The menu is so STALE and never seems to evolve or have new additions. I just wish it was more seasonally thought-out and creative. The same exact items were on the summer menu as the fall & winter . The only fish on the menu is always salmon-Boring! How about diver sea scallops or a nice swordfish once in a while? Also the menu needs some vegetarian/vegan options as a main entree as several of our guests did not eat meat or fish.
Food was great but service was poor
The evening was a success. Downtown Sacramento, supervised parking is available across the street. Caesar salad is large and could be shared. The group enjoyed their entrees. One, ravioli with beef short rib. Flavor and texture was very good, a cross between Mom's best pot roast and a pot sticker. I ordered steak, carved, Waygu style beef, cooked medium rare as requested. simply put, it was exceptional. The steak arrived hot, and had a mouth pleasing 'smoke' from the grill on the outside... memorable. Our server was able to suggest a Pinot Noir, full bodied as requested. Service was professional, and attentive throughout dinner. If you are looking for good food and a fine dining experience try Paragary's
We had a lovely dinner. The salmon was some of the best we've had outside of Alaska and the steak was perfect. Delicious food, good service and just a great dinner.
The food was beyond awesome- Just could have been much hotter. But the quality and taste were amazing.
We've been to Paragary's twice, and have been very pleased both times. The atmosphere is nice without being stuffy, the food is excellent and creative without being weird, and the service is friendly and upbeat without being intrusive.
The King Salmon was not fresh and tasted very fishy. The portion of the pear and persimmon salad did not justify the price.
Great. Always a good experience.
The place is small but very nice and nicely decorated. They have an outdoor area also with a waterfall and fireplace. The food was so so nothing to rave about and the service was slow. No one came to check up on refills or if we needed anything.
You simply cannot go wrong when choosing Paragary's. It's a beautiful place staffed by friendly and knowledgeable servers and the food is predictably and consistently good, good, good.
