Paragary’s is a lively bistro with California flair, located in the heart of Midtown, Sacramento. The menu and bar program are dictated by the seasonal bounty of the Sacramento region. Originally established in 1983, the restaurant underwent an extensive remodel in 2015, combining both modern and traditional elements to create a relaxed, timeless environment that lets the food and drinks take center stage. The light and airy interior opens up to the renowned dining patio that features waterfalls, 60 year-old olive trees and a large fireplace.

Have been long-time Paragary diners. The current team of guest greeter, wait staff, bartenders, & managers is operating as a well-oiled machine. The service at all levels was polished, competent, and professional.
We were happy with the iconic Rosemary hand-cut noodles, a favorite. The Caesar salad was so lightly dressed thst additional dressing was requested. It did need to be more robustly seasoned. The pork chop was cooked to medium as requested. It was thick and moist. However, the hazelnut topping did not add to the dish. It did provide crunch but was actually bitter. Might want to consider a different approach.
We were pleased with our experience and especially kudos to the staff.

We visited on Valentine's day, with a reservation. They were swamped. It took 25 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, and the host was in defensive mode, so was in no state to listen or pay attention to reservation details. Definitely speak up if something isn't right, or they may not notice.

The food was okay. No dish was outstanding, though you could tell what they were going for with the entree, a perfectly cooked buttery cod filet next to a beach of forbidden rice, and a sea of... brackish soy sauce water in which swam pale rubbery and bland things with monotone yet not subtle flavor profiles. The Oyster Rockefeller amuse bouche was nice and hot, and the pavlova dessert was intensely LEMON. Not a single course was perfect, and the meal as a whole was not satisfying.

Overall, the bill came to $300 for 2 people, so I'd say it was a bad value for the money at an event like this. We've had good experiences here in previous years, on other events than Valentine's. Maybe V-Day made everyone more stressed and frantic than usual, but it left a lasting bad taste in our mouths.

We waited 40 minutes past our reservations. It was busy and every one came at once so I can understand. But our food ended up getting mixed up with the tables next to us. The other table had to wait a lot longer so they were kind and gave them a second glass of champagne.

The food was perfectly adequate. There was a ton of salt on the appetizers but they had a great presentation and were beautiful.

Our server seemed really kind but spread way too thin. We barely talked to him and we had to ask for water and utensils.

The experience could have been so much better if it all wasn’t so overbooked and if a little more care went into the service.

We spent our third Valentines Day in a row at Paragary’s. Always enjoy the atmosphere. The New York was divine with crunchy onions, whipped potatoes and carrots. The service was just ok, mainly because they were super busy and our waiter was a bit scattered. But overall another enjoyable night!

Chose Paragary’s for our Valentines Day dinner because we’ve been several times and had great service & delicious meals.

On this occasion I’m afraid we were disappointed. They have large doors that open to the patio which were wide open in spite of the cold. I was too cold to remove my coat & as a matter of fact was hunched over shivering because we were in the path of the breeze coming through the door. When our waiter came to our table I jokingly told him I would like to order a heater with our dinner because I was freezing. It was difficult eating the first course while trying to keep my coat from slipping off of my back. They did finally close the doors before the 2nd course arrived.

Dinner was a special prix fixe menu. Food was good but overpriced for what we got in my opinion. The meal was rushed. I got up to go to the ladies room after I finished the 2nd course & dessert was waiting for me upon my return which was literally about 3-4 minutes. This is just not what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

Great food, and it's not often that a $16 cocktail is worth $16. Took a little long to get water, and "The Girl Can't Help It" was playing tinnily loud; subsequent music was just loud enough to be distracting. Server checked in too often. Food redeems all, though!
