Great for after theatre or date night.
The food was flavorful and fresh. The restaurant is nice, parking downtown/Midtown is always a challenge.
Wish person calling to confirm our Reservation had mentioned that Paragary's would be having a large (!) pre-theatre crowd there that evening. We could have easily come a half hour later and avoided what was a madhouse when we walked in.
It was 105 degrees outside but we had to sit on Terrace, again, because of the loud cacophony and we didn't even see one seat open.
ALSO, I had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and there was zero mention of the "Special Occasion" from the Host, our Server or anyone. Extremely disappointing.
Sadly also not very many vegetarian options. I had a hard time with that, as did, I noticed the table next to us.
We had quite a wait for our food but both our waiter and the manager apologized and explained that the kitchen had gotten backed up. They also comped part of our order so we felt they made it right. And luckily we were not in any hurry. Would definitely return.
Food was superb; however, our dinner was VERY late in coming - -an hour after we arrived, even though we didn't have cocktails. At our first complaint, the waitress apologized and said it would be there in one minute. TEN minutes later she apologized again and said it would be there in 2 minutes. It wasn't.
Ate indoors so the noise level was a little loud!
We had a great time! Laughed more than I have in years. Our knowledgeable waiter put us at ease and made great food recommendations. We loved interacting with him, but aside from that, the food was perfect. We had the charcuterie starter with fabulous crusty bread; delicate mushroom salad; and steelhead trout that was succulent. Only disappointment was the babka for dessert — a bit dry. The room is lively — light, bright, and cheerful. I’ll be back soon!
Loved the patio. Erik G was fabulous!
Food and desert great
Menu has been pared down, but the food is very good.
The time between our salads and main course was a bit longer than anticipated, but perhaps our server was allowing us to chat more with our friends.
Great and convenient place to eat before a performance at Sofia
We love the outdoor seating, service & food. We would definitely come back.
I haven't been to Paragary's since last summer, and I wasn't disappointed. Fresh cuisine, impeccable service, and love that outdoor patio with the misters and the waterfalls!
Pleasant evening on the patio, the chef accommodated a vegetarian meal request and created an exquisite off-the-menu dish!! Great service from Liz - my favorite restaurant in Sacramento.
Good food and delightful outdoor setting. The kitchen was slow considering the level of patrons and we were going to the theatre which the server knew. The server stated a timeframe to have us be finished and the serving of the entrees put us in a bit of a rush. We allowed 70 minutes for dinner before leaving for the theatre. Since they are located in a key area to the new B Street Theatre their service from the kitchen must be better.
We sat outside on a beautiful evening. Our waiter came around frequently to ask if we needed anything. We all enjoyed our entrees. I loved my drink (Paraguary’s 58?). A fun time was had by all!
Our meal was amazing! I would highly recommend for a date night or girls day!
Lovely court yard! Good food!
Everything about the restaurant was great except the noise level. It was difficult to carry on a conversation because it was so loud. I think from now on , I’ll have to sit on patio. The food and service were exceptional
All in all a good eatery. We've had a somewhat long wait for our order to arrive a couple of times for Sunday brunch: 50-60 minutes. Other times it was ok. So a little inconsistent in that area.
Enjoyed sitting on the patio
I like shorter rather than longer menus but your menu is soooo limited. No dinner salads??my previous dinner there a few weeks ago was also disappointing...had terrible service that evening and the pizza was super disappointing. It used to be fun and good. In this day and age, you really need to kick it up...a lot
Our second visit was even better than our first (which was pretty amazing)! On one of the hottest days of the summer, it was such a blessing to have easy and available parking right across the street! We were on time for our reservation and so was Paragary. Our server Nia couldn’t have been more fun, friendly, professional & proficient. We relied on her experience & expertise and were not disappointed. Three in our party had the prime rib special and the cuts were so big they all took home leftovers. We all were thankful we tried the cheesecake for dessert. It was super yummy...fortunately the servings are biscuit sized & we shared.
We were seated promptly, the staff was accommodating. The food And wine selections were appropriate for the location and clientele. Our server was very attentive and saw to our needs. It was an enjoyable evening. We were not rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy dessert before the show.
We had a reservation and still waited 50 minutes to be seated. After getting quite antsy, we peeked out to look at the tables and a larger table had been available the entire time we were waiting. The hostess just didn’t seem to be a problem solver and figure out how to manage the floor. We ended up going to another smaller table that just opened up as she was escorting us to the larger table after we enquired about it. The table wasn’t reserved either because no one sat at it the entire time we were there. It was just unorganized. The food was expensive for what it was. Over $20 pasta dish with no meat is a little much if you ask me. The food did taste good, just pricy for what it was and the portion. The patio was beautiful. I will probably just go back for happy hour.
Patio is wonderful. Our server was very good and so was the hostess. Mushroom salad amazing as always!!
Service was impeccable, food very good. My only complant, and one that would stop us from returning, is the distracting music which does not fit the beautiful outdoor dining area. I have a little anxiety and go to nice restaurants to have a nice peaceful meal. I never go out on weekends so dine during the middle of the week. The music was annoying, basically a boom, boom, boom beat, 70’s disco. My dinner companion also commented on the obnoxious music.
You may want to consider a different music venue that compliments the environment and great food and service rather than distracting from it.
Our food and service were fabulous. I got the gnocchi and my mom got the trout. We split the butter salad. The gnocchi was amazing, not too heavy which is usually why I don’t order it. The bread in the beginning was served with fresh butter. They ran out of my wine so they came out with two samples of others. I definitely would like the try the mushroom salad, it looked in incredible. Would definitely recommend, very fresh and very farm 2 fork!
Small portions, big price. Service folks not on point during the beverage/food service. It’ll be awhile before I go back.
Lovely ambience; friendly, accommodating staff. My appetizers were better than my main course (mussels) v. papparadelle with chicken and guanciale. Hard to find the proteins. However, would go back since it was such a nice spot to spend time.
Very enjoyable evening! The cocktails were excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. The food quality was very good.
It was overpriced for what we were served. They were out of 2 things that we went for. Not our kind of place. Will stick with what we know.
Special fathers day menu sucked , exagerantly expensive, basically ruined our fathers day and birthday celebrations. They were also out of items on their 4 item menu.
I usually come to Paragary's because of the price fixed menu that they offer on special occasions. The reason I do this is that they are usually delicious and very accommodating for special dietary needs. Unfortunately, this time around I found their vegetarian option to be less than appealing. It was a little disheartening. I love coming here and I will continue to do so, but just as a word of advice: always have just as appetizing options for the vegetarian, vegan friends. Also, our particular waiter wasn't the most welcoming in this aspect, he made it seem as if was too much extra work and very unfortunate that we needed another option. I heard him do the same unwelcoming speech to a fellow vegan patron and usually this is never the case.
Father's Day. We came for the Mother's Day Brunch so only fitting we celebrate Dad's day here, too. When the waitress came offering the usual brunch gluten filled pastries, I commented that I had noted in my review that they needed to offer a gluten free option for brunch menus. Well, she surprised me with a special fruit cup with the best fresh peaches I have had all season. The entire meal was excellent, and though they do not like changes or substitutions, it was all fine considering my gluten allergy. The in house smoked salmon was served with micro greens and it was delicious. The pan seared tuna salad was incredible, thick pieces of ahi tuna, seared perfectly. My dad's eggs benedict on pulled pork with some sort of corn thing and Hollandaise sauce was great as was mom's eggs and such. Our waitress, Liz B, was friendly, engaging, caring, and supportive. She truly made our experience special. And I am grateful to the kitchen staff for providing incredible gluten free food!
Everything was wonderful. The patio is a beautiful area.
Fathers Day brunch was outstanding!! We are never disappointed here and return often for special occasions!
The menu was very creative and our choices were great, we enjoyed each course and savored the entire experience!!
Father Day prix fixed meal. Delish
The Host was wonderful, kept us informed about our requested table outside.
Our server was very nice, but not very good. Had to ask three times, just for water, and finally was brought to the table 30 minutes after being seated.
Did however, feel comfortable to enjoy a leisurely dinner.
We had a wonderful evening at Paragary’s on Saturday night. The restaurant was lively and festive. The cocktails were beautiful (I had the lavender lemon drop) and the food was delicious. We sat inside since there was a 45 minute wait for the lovely patio (reservations are not accepted on the patio). All of our dishes were delicious (pasta, chicken, butter lettuce salad and asparagus soup). We enjoyed the house-made cookies for dessert too. Looking forward to our next visit!
Unbelievable-- everything was awesome!!!! The food was original, the service helped make real recommendations and the ambience was exactly what you could hope for. This is now our go to restaurant.
