Everything was great except for the wait for our food after we were seated. We waited for 1 hr 10 min after we sat down. This is unusual for this restaurant. We eat here often and have not experienced a wait like this before. This occurred on Sunday, October 14.
Great brunch. Great food. Great service. This restaurant is one of our favorite places in Sacramento!
The garden seating is always so nice! Four of us had a reservation so we had a nice table at 7pm.
My mussels were so tiny I could hardly taste them. The others had pizza and pasta which was o.k.
Good service and ambiance not the greatest food tho.
It's been a long time since I ate here. Actually, 11 years to be exact. My husband and I were treated to Paragary's as a wedding "gift". We LOVED it! However, life gets in the way of all good things sometimes. Fast forward to our 11th anniversary. We decided to revisit Paragary's. I couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was amazing! We sat on the patio by a fountain. Peaceful to say the least. I looked at the menu before we went to see what would be most to our liking. We had a hard time choosing. ALL the choices were pretty amazing. We chose the fried green tomatoes, tomato cucumber salad, Mary's chicken in a homemade noodle dish (yummy!) and the pork chop option. I cannot say enough! Our daughter even liked the night. Thank you Paragary's. There is no question why this restaurant has been a mainstay in Midtown for 35 yrs!!!
I have been here many many times and never had anything short of an exceptional experience.
The hostess was lovely, the bartender very accommodating, the waiter mediocre, the menu very limited. The rib eye steak special was delicious, pappardelle just okay. I asked if they had limoncello as an after dinner drink because they had lavender limoncello in a cocktail. The waiter said it was more of a Christmas drink because they use Meyer lemons to make it. Do they really make their own limoncello? All in all it was just okay for dinner. Really enjoyed Brunch outside there previously. Wouldn’t go back for dinner.
Our group included four people who have traveled around the world, have over time become foodies and truly appreciate restaurants that have it all right: great food, wonderful -- and relaxing--ambiance, original offerings, helpful but not intrusive service, and not so hip to be pretentious but innovative and edgy. Paragary blew these all out of the water. We have for years, years, years looked for places like this in Sacramento and now we have found our "go-to" place for casual events, just got-to-feel-a-little-special meals. The Liver Mousse was to die for, as was the Smoked Salmon; the Pork Chop (I really never eat meat out) is consistently outstanding, the Olive Oil Cakes was so good we have now copied the recipe six times and made it ourselves, which for a coo like me is the best compliment. Last words: go. Go now. Three times.
Great location, comfortable seating inside and outside. Love the waterfalls. Love the formal dining area inside.
My ham and cheese omelet was tasteless. There was more spinach in it than the ham or cheese...cheaper filler. The potatoes were the best part of my meal. Should have stuck with the pancakes...had them last time I was there. My wife's avocado toast was very good...she had it on our visit brunch a few months ago.
The good news is that Jason R, our server, was excellent. He made my mediocre meal tolerable...told him I like my coffee very hot and he made sure it was. Not sure I would do brunch again...charles
Had a great dinner at Paragary's (as unusual) 5 couples on the beautiful patio!
A few months ago we dined here as a family and we’re very disappointed. Three out of our four dishes were substandard. Service was bad. But this time the dining experience was very good. The rigatoni was excellent. The pork chop was perfectly done and was a substantial portion. The substituted salmon for steelhead trout was cooked perfectly and the entire dish was excellent. The ravioli, I was told was also excellent although the serving portion was incredibly small. Each ravioli was worth four or five dollars(!) but thankfully the wife of my friend who ordered the ravioli was able to finish his pork chop. There were a few minor mistakes on service and our waiter should have been more attentive, but nothing serious and he was friendly. It was a very good meal all the way around. Unrelated to the meal, I would comment that the $25 a bottle corkage is very, very steep.
Attended Paragary's 35th Birthday Celebration Dinner. Food was outstanding. All courses on the pre-set Birthday dinner menu were wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent service by all staff and gorgeous patio. Pappardelle pasta dish is always spectacular.
Great food, great service. Highly recommend and will definitely come again.
This is a tried and true local gem that never disappoints.
Good happy hour drinks and appetizers and nice ambience. Out first choice meal was not available (trout) so my wife chose the special of the day - salmon - and the server didn't know if it was farmed or work caught (big difference!). It was wild caught, but she was not impressed with the dish. I chose a Ribeye steak medium rare, but it was totally overcooked, as in well done. Didn't bother to return since the waiter didn't really show any interest, maybe because we didn't order wine (see happy hour Cocktails).
Again, nice patio and ambience, grey happy hour, but unimpressed with service and food choices.
I had brunch today outside on the patio. Food was delicious and the service was fabulous and the patio is so beautiful. We all had a wonderful experience thank you Paragarys for creating such a beautiful and relaxing restaurant.
Everything was great. One gentle note- our server had significant body odor that was off putting.
Excellent service and ambiance. The patio was very nicely done. Noise level was comfortable and air movement was well managed. I was hosting a dinner/birthday party for my wife and the flowers were delivered to the table at the exact requested minute. Everyone had a good time.
Beautiful outdoor seating area. Food was delicious and service was great.
Wonderful menu. Choose the outdoor patio for a beautiful setting.
Incredible overall experience, will be a new local favorite
The garden seating was delightful and the service was first rate!
We closed down the restaurant on a Saturday night. The staff was great. Waiter in bar recommended a rose on special that was delightful. It was a wonderful experience. I love the refurbishment. The patio space is the best outdoor dining in Sacramento.
What a find!
Just passing through Sacramento and found this in open table
Very inviting Outdoor patio
Very chic looking but felt welcome
Super value for what you get
Our first time here, but we'll be back. The staff is very friendly and the food is yummy. Service is well timed and waitstaff very knowledgeable.
Our server Nia - did a great job!
Showed up a little early to our reservation, was told there would be approximately a 15-20 minute wait. Sat at the bar and was served a wonderful handcrafted cocktail executed by a bartender named Anthony. Took a seat outside and had an excellent meal consisting of mushroom salad & pasta dish. Best outdoor patio in Sacramento.
Paragary's was an amazing experience. I was surprised and delighted by the menu and most importantly by the service. It was 1st class. You simply must ask for Cyrus, his service was personal, professional--the kind of service you would hope and expect to receive but find absent from other restaurants now a days. It was a truly enjoyable experience.
small plates and appetizers were spot on. Extremely fresh sashimi and poke, duck skewers were amazing, tempura very good. Only disappointment was the miso ramen - too salty but the noodles were high quality.
Great outdoor seating! Great service! Delicious lunch!
Paragary's new menu, although more limited than in the past, has something for everyone: pasta, pizza, full entrees, salads. Service was great (thanks, Liz B.!!) and the noise level (with the doors to the outside patio opened to the indoor dining room) was moderate...all in all, a very good dining experience!!
Enjoyed ambience of outdoor seating and food nice too - pasta dish was a bit soupy but great flavor and not enough chicken in this dish
Excellent food and the outside patio was delightful!
Beautiful restaurant. Brunch menu is pretty traditional - would like to see a bit more variety. I noticed other guests who sat down after we did got served their drinks well before I did so had to prompt our server to bring my drink. We were not served the lovely homemade jam with our breakfast and had to ask a different server for it as our server was not available. We love the restaurant and will definitely return in spite of the lack luster service this last time.
My brother and I were able to split the cucumber and tomato salad and the pork chop. They brought it to us on separate plates which was amazing. The food was divine and the service was
impecable. Will definitely go back.
Paragary is one of my favorite Sacramento resturants, however my order had too much salt in the sauce. My friends eggs were a little overdone. I did not complain as the experience overall was enjoyable.
Best outdoor patio in Sacramento! Also enjoyed that bottles of rosé were 50% off on Saturday.
We took in the patio which is a very comfortable setting once the sun has dipped down. Food was great, especially the dessert.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The brunch menu was diverse in a good way. And the patio is to die for. Will be going back soon.
We ordered the mushroom/cheese salad and paid extra for split plates. The portions in total were about half of the original single serving (not a big deal to us because we are light eaters) but the salad tasted only like lemon and barely had any cheese on either plate. We then split the pork chop which came out very cold, and when we asked to have it heated it returned lukewarm (despite our amazing servers efforts to get it to us as quickly as possible). That said, it looked and tasted just link a hunk of ham, no searing or spices that were discernible. A bit of a disappointing experience.
