Really expensive. Although the appetizers were excellent - we had shrimp dumplings - a little different plum sauce - really good and the ahi tower was great but the paella was overcooked and tasted like an italian dish vs. a spanish one. The rice was not crisp like the spaniards make it. Also had the seafood pasta - again, not quite up to par to a true cioppino. too marinara like vs. seafood. Won't go back. $150 for 2 people ouch!

our server was nowhere to be found most of the meal, we were seated and waited for 5+ minutes before being asked by another server if we’d been helped.

We ordered two of our favorite dishes (paella and short rib) and the paella was off. The shellfish seemed of lower quality, the mahi was left out of the dish, and the scallops were seriously over cooked.

As we were finishing up we see our server again, who apologizes for not filling our water as “we’re running low tonight”..... uh, what? The restaurant is low on water and that’s why you haven’t been back? Okay... I order my second drink as we wait for her to box the weird paella.

Back she comes with my drink... we finish the other entree, then goes the drink, and we wait... and wait..... and wait. Finally the guy who originally helped us asked if we were finished and got us our check. Our waitress was kind enough to come back to take payment, but that was it.

I’ve always had great experiences at PCG, and have always recommended it. This meal was a complete miss and waste of money.

Nice view of waves! Good food. Too loud (inside) for easy conversation. Selection of white wines by the glass is disappointing (limited).
Will try again and sit outside

We've been to PCG before and it was amazing. Was one of my favorite restaurants. However, we went on NYE and I was disappointed. Our server was great but the food wasnt so great. For the price it wasnt worth it. Vegetables were nothing special. My porterhouse was dry and a little tough. Fortunately we had been there before because if that had been my 1st visit I wouldn't go back. Even now I'm a little hesitant

We decided to eat dinner at new years eve in this restaurant. It was not a fixed menu. They sat us right at our reservation time. Though it was night time, we could see the waves from our table on top floor. They had heaters so it was comfortable though it was a cold night. The 3 different dinners we ordered were all delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable and frank about food and whatever he recommended was excellent. This is a lovely place and we have never been disappointed. At new year's eve many good places become disappointing. But not this restaurant. They were great in all aspects.

We are local (Cardiff) and have been there a few times before and the food was always fairly good. However, they had a "special" New Years only menu and the food was very poor. One in our party sent her plate back and did not eat at all. They other five of us thought our dinners were poor to fair. There are too many other really good local restaurants to ever recommend Pacific Coast Grill for their food. Would only go there again for the view and drinks.

PCG has a wonderful location on the ocean and the ambience is great but the food quality has gone down in quality. The last two visits we have been very disappointed and even though our waiter was wonderful the wait staff threw down our food , bumped into our chairs and were unprofessional. We may not go back to eat at PCG.

We( party of 4 for dinner) started with the Poke Tower which was delicious. It was perfect for 3...hubby does not eat fish. Three ordered 3 different fish dishes - ahi, mani and scallops. Ahi was excellent. Scallops were very good. Mani ok. Hubby had the filet which was just a little over done but very good. Overalll a very good nite.
