   Oystercatchers was a very nice restaurant that we gave gone to for over 30 years. We have even celebrated special occasions there in the past. I have always looked forward to going for the tasty food, good service and nice view of Tampa Bay. I took my wife Saturday evening for dinner prior to Mother's Day. We found that things have changed substantially since our last visit. The menu had changed with less options and more things as a la carte. Even the bread for the table was an extra charge. We ordered cocktails and waited over 30 min for them to arrive. We were later told they only had one bartender. We ordered some grilled oysters as an appetizer. The oysters had a very funny taste but we did eat them. We ordered Caesar Salads to start. The salad tasted very briny. We then ordered our mains (grilled fish), and waited almost an hour for them to arrive. They were both dry and had an unusual taste. My wife wanted an Espresso Martini (which she had in prior vists). Again, after waiting another 20-30 min, the drink arrived and it was too bitter to drink. Our final bill was over $200. Our total time at restaurant was 2.5 hours. After we got home, both my wife and I felt very nauseated. Needless to say, this was probably our last trip to Oystercatchers.

As longtime guests of Oystercatchers, your loyalty over the past 30 years means a great deal to us, and I’m truly sorry that we let you down on such a special occasion. What you described—from the long wait times and limited menu options to the food and drink quality—is far from the standard we aim to uphold. It’s especially concerning to hear that you both felt unwell afterward, and I hope you are both feeling better now. Please know that we are taking your feedback seriously and will be reviewing it in detail with our culinary and service teams.    We came to Oystercatchers to celebrate my Dad’s 92nd birthday. He and my stepmom were regulars there at one point but hadn’t been back in 25 years. It was wonderful to see the flood of nostalgia go through them both. The service was fantastic. Two waiters took care of us all evening and were very attentive. The food was delicious, and apparently very consistent with what my Dad remembered. I had the octopus appetizer and the filet. Both were cooked to perfection. Most of our party had seafood and loved the cook and preparation. I don’t live in Tampa, but will certainly go out of my way to return when I’m in town again. I’d go back just for the milk bread!

   Great service by a server who I feel was embarrassed by the food he was serving. Multiple dishes for our party of 5 were inedible, from starters to entrees. Won’t be back

   The new menu is missing a few familiar favorites and the signature dessert, Sticky Toffee Pudding recipe changed to a much lesser quality experience. The dangers of allowing a chef to dictate the concept and menus is that you risk losing your regulars. Service was outstanding as always.

   We met Shelby the new chef who was delightful. But her new menu was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised. We are looking forward to the next time.

   Our server seemed stressed. The shrimp and grits had weird rubbery octopus pieces that were very off-putting. But beautiful place as always!

   We’ve made this our regular brunch spot. Their French toast is absolutely exquisite and the oysters that they have on selection are never far from perfect. They have a housemade hot sauce and saltine crackers that pair with the oysters. I would definitely think about making this your new brunch spot!

    Max was an unbelievable server. He was so professional so informative and really a great personality. We were treated first class celebrating two birthdays. The food was outstanding and they recommend this place. Incredible experience thank you.
