Grand Seafood Tower
poached & chilled whole lobster, seasonal crab, oysters on the half shell, jumbo gulf shrimp
confit garlic, parmesan, brown butter panko
Delicious food, attentive service.
Bathroom sink took too long for water to get hot. Disappointing for such an up-scale resturant.
I was alone and in town by myself. Wanted to see something outside of downtown and this was nice. I ordered the grilled oysters which were definitely good but drowned in butter. Good thing I like butter. I ordered the Mac and cheese lobster. I do not know what possessed me as this is way over any humans calorie budget but it was well done and tons of lobster with a grilled tail on the top. 52 dollars later I was not upset to pay the bill.
Best Calamari! Delicious food, beautiful views and great service.
Food was delicious!
Enjoyed beautiful sunset with delicious dishes, excellent service, & artful presention. Our friends very pleased with quiet ambience so we could converse.
Our waiter Donald was beyond fantastic. The seafood was fresh and everyone enjoyed their entrees. Highly suggest the Tuna. There is an opportunity to improve the wine list but we still had a lovely selection. The atmosphere can be loud depending on who is at the table next to you. Perfect for a business meal and appreciated the experience overall.
This was our second visit to this restaurant. - After a very positive experience a couple of months ago, there were several disappointments.
The restaurant was unpleasantly cold and our choice of light lunch, e.g. "Tuna Melt" turned out to be a SEVERE disappointment: a bland sandwich with a non-descript "hash" of a small amount of tuna - that looked as if it had come out of a can (?) - with a bit of grilled cheese and too many pommes frites.
The only positive was the service. The food was nowhere up to the standards that is expected from Hyatt!
This place was wonderful from start to finish. Great food, location, service, and the views over the water were spectacular. We will now add Oystercatchers to our favorite restaurants to dine in Tampa.
we dined outside with a very nice sunset and the heaters kept us warm during this cold spell. Food was good but a tad overpriced but can't complain as it was a good meal and surroundings.
Sunday brunch was a real treat, including as it does complimentary bloody Mary's or mimosas and dessert tray. My wife and I used our Hyatt points to splurge on the amazing "Seafood tower," which includes a dozen oysters on the half shell (which were fresh and excellent), 10 very large shrimp, four tuna sashimi "shooters," and two good-size cold-water lobster tails. We left stuffed and happy. The restaurant features a nice view of the bay but was a bit too loud and plainly decorated to win extra points for ambience. The cocktails were weak and overpacked with ice, but that's to be expected when they are included at no extra charge.
Wasn't aware that they no longer had their signature Sunday buffet brunch. Pretty small selection of brunch entrees. Will be our last visit to Oystercatchers unless they bring back the buffet. Server thought that was unlikely.
Definitely get the oysters! The burrata salad is also my fav.
Food was subpar. Rather disappointing. Not hot, charbroiled oysters, extremely small, fishy . Our waiter was excellent, I personally would not go back, very expensive for food quality.
Beautiful atmosphere, the scene from the patio is beautiful at sunset, lobster Mac and cheese was amazing and worth it.
Service was as really good our server was on his game.
Food was good but could have been better. I had the seafood trio, lobster was perfect, scallops nicely seared, the shrimp were over cooked and tough.
Wife had tuna and was excellent.
Lobster bisque was also good could have been hotter as in temperature.
Oystercatchers is phenomenal. Great food, even better service.
Mother in law birthday
Phenomenal value. 2 free mimosas or Bloody Mary with any entree order during brunch. Also, free muffins to start (very tasty) and free dessert pastries provided! Beautiful views of the water. Very nice atmosphere indoor and outdoor. Food’s very good. Service good. Highly recommend.
We'd been to their brunch previously and it was one of the best in Tampa Bay, but it was a buffet. I guess, due to COVID, they now only allow you to order an entree from the menu. Was disappointed to say the lest.
It’s difficult not to compare Oystercatcher to Eddie V’s because they cater to same demographic. In doing so, Oystercatcher misses on a few points as it relates to presentation and quantity. Given the price point, they are held to a higher standard which we feel they fell short of.
Great service and delicious food. Our waiter Donald made the evening very special. Always happy to visit Oystercatchers
Enjoy the place but the food wasn’t up there with other places that serve steak. I would go back.
Delicious food! Also, great service! Wonderful experience as always!
Fabulous food, attentive staff and a view that can’t be beat.
Excelente lugar , servicio y comida . Una atención delicada y con calidad de servicio muy recomendable. Gracias
It was our first time, we went to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and we really liked the food and experience here. We had an amazing view of sunset. As far as the food, I had the sea bass, my wife had the surf & turf, and my in-laws had the seafood trio. Food had excellent taste and portions were great. My cocktail (blackberry lemonade) was amazing. We had great service by our waiter Charlie. Overall an excellent dining experience!
Everything was fine. The volume on the piano was much too high. Made talking difficult. Service (Don) was excellent.
Brought friends from out of state
Server was excellent. Food very good.
Prices slightly high. Table was not great. Not real quiet.
Service was excellent! Oysters were fabulous. The lobster on the seafood trio was over cooked, but everything else was lovely.
I had invited two guests new area residents as an introduction to Oystercatchers and was most embarrassed at the meager portions served , particularly on the eggs Benedict which had just a few spinach leaves and a small portion of potatoes, for which an additional five dollars were charged on top .
I had not eaten at Oyster Catchers for about 20 years. As I remembered, this place did not disappoint. Nice atmosphere, excellent food. The shrimp and scallops were delicious. They also have the most exotic mushrooms, sauces, and great garlic mashed potatoes. Recommend.
It was Christmas so I guess they deserve a break, but there were too many things wrong not to mention them. First, the piano player was much too loud for fine dining so we sat outside on a perfect evening. The $3.50 ea shrimp in the shrimp cocktail had no flavor....zero! Add some Old Bay to the shrimp water.....please! The seared tuna ($42) was cold and so was the sticky toffee pudding. Plus, the pudding was a bit stale. Finally, while our server was nice, there were times when we didn't see him for long stretches...there were lots of staff in the restaurant but maybe they were short staffed on Christmas. Not the greatest showing from what is typically a great restaurant.
Food and menu selection was outstanding. The service was attentive and very good. The ambiance was reflective of the time of day. We had a beautiful view of the water, however, because the sun sets in the west, the sun was glaring on serval of our groups face/eyes. They did lower the shades minimally when asked, but when other diners want to look at the water, we had to “suffer” through the glaring sunset. The noise level was due to the beautiful piano playing. Because , again, of the location of our table in direct line of the instrument it was loud, leaving us with a hard time having conversation.
Always enjoy Oystercatchers. The service was excellent.
Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere!! Great service!
Food was great. Service was adequate. View was nice.
The food was delicious, the service was fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable and was even kind enough to take our picture. The setting is amazing. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Christmas menu was not posted online only vegan option was polenta and mushrooms $42, this is what I had, was an Extremely small portion, which was AOK as I did not like it, tasted like instant grits with mushrooms… Christmas Eve dinner was a disappointment & at a very high cost. We have dined here many times before& the high prices were worth it due to Quality of the food and service, sad to say, not the case last night.
Food and service was excellent. Only issue we had was the restaurant was freezing and the AC was blowing so hard it cooled an awesome Lobster Bisque in a matter of seconds after being served. We asked our server and he said it was the second request to the Mgmt to turn down the AC and he didn’t think it would be done.
