A very nice place. The environment may have been off due to the Covid situation but we look forward to going again.
We visited in January and it was a little cold in the restaurant. A few other customers complained. There was a cool breeze blowing on us which was a little uncomfortable even for us Northerns. The food was innovative and the quality was excellent.
This was my first visit to Oystercatchers and it was a GREAT experience. The layout of the restaurant is very nice. The menu had some very interesting seafood and non seafood choices which presented options. The meals were fantastic and the service was perfect.
Great food great service the Tuna was outstanding we will definitely be back.
Was staying at the Hyatt and this restaurant came highly recommended. The food was very tasty and the service was great. A little pricey, but worth it. Enjoy!
Outstanding service! The lobster and grouper were slightly over cooked.
Excellent service
Lovely patio and a great sunset. Fabulous smoked old fashioned, succulent oysters, delicious grilled shrimp, lobster tail and scallops and award winning key lime pie. Highly recommend
Oyster Catchers had changed a lot since they have new management. They used to have a beautiful Sunday buffet with tablecloth’s. It’s just not the same.
Amazing time!!
Lunch was fantastic but the noise level was very bad. Take an outside table if you can.
Oyster Catchers never disappointments, the food and service was outstanding!
Always excellent food. Great cocktails. Outstanding service.
For this reservation we requested a quiet table for the 5 of us next to some window seating so we could enjoy the scenery while the sun set. Unfortunately they crammed us at a small table by a side window and there was no room for all of the table settings. Even the servers struggled with making sure we had enough room during each course. They did recognize we were there for a birthday so I know they reviewed and read the requests, and Bob’s service was amazing, as was the food. But the seating was terrible and really left a disappointing feeling for our experience. There wasn’t even a tablecloth. As we walked in and were seated there was obviously open tables in the area we had hoped to sit based on our request. Not sure we will be back soon if we are going to spend that much money on a dinner and they won’t honor the requests, we will go other places for that price.
Brunch was great! The sushi was good and I really enjoyed my Spanish tortilla. But the best part of brunch was the service. My server Tyler was very attentive and personable in which it really pushed my experience over the top. Thanks Tyler!
We where in the side room which was good but people came in on a 10 spot and where loud and swearing which turned it a bad situation!!
Great food and service!!!
First, we were sat outside in the blazing sun. We asked for an umbrella and a fan as soon as we were sat, and the hostess said she didn’t know how to, but would send our server over (train your hostess on these tasks please). We sat there uncomfortable at least 5-10 min and no one came.. so we assumed we were forgotten about. We decided to move inside, so we could receive faster service versus being forgotten about outside, as well as stay cooler. So happier inside we order... our server was nice and professional, but I could tell she had her hands full. Wrong food delivery to table and took almost 10 min for anyone to notice.. instead they were looking for the missing sandwich that was sitting on my table.. instead of delivering my food to the correct table. Focusing on the problem and blindly ignoring your guest will not give you an efficient solution. The manager did not delivery the food, or apologize. I was not offered any sort of accommodation or acknowledgement of the issue. The medium burger finally arrived after my mother finished her food already.. I ate maybe a few bites due to the overcooking in the heated lamp.
Good food and service. Some tree trimming would give an even nicer view of the water.
Our waiter was amazing, Donald. The food delicious and perfect way of ending 2020.
The food is phenomenal, ambiance is wonderful, and the service was top line, I would highly recommend Oystercatchers.
Visited for New Year’s Eve, Late lunch early dinner.
Food as always excellent. Wait help had too many tables and only 1 of her. She did a great job but overload effected guests.
Couldn’t get sunscreen down so had to move to another table from sun. Cleaning and disinfectant bottle and cleaning rag left on ledge behind our table and finally they hurried us out to set up for New Years at 4:30 after a long wait in service. Our reservation was at 2:15 and took almost 30 minutes to get us a drink from bar. One table could have been left without hurrying us while they set table clothes etc around us without hurrying us. We shouldn’t have been made to feel our reservation and experience was not important.
3rd year anniversary. Pork chop was amazing.
Cindy, Cindy, Cindy, the waitress!! Literally ruined the night. Celebrating my wife's Birthday took a horrible turn for the worst with the display and conduct of our server. Our guest arrived 20 minutes before us (as discussed with the restaurant) were seated accordingly and instructed to order their drinks. When we (my wife and I) showed up for our 630reservation, our guests mentioned that they were enjoying the atmosphere and that everything was going well. I attempted to get our server's attention to order our initial drinks. When my drink arrived, she set it at the end of the table away from me and just walked away. (our guests commented on how different they were treated than what I received). When it was time to order dinner, my spouse inquired about a wine pairing for the crispy snapper she intended to order. Cindy's retort was that she'd have to figure that out herself and dismissed what we were attempting to say. Perception is reality, as they always say, our guests were white and we're a biracial couple. I spoke to the manager, telling her that if I preferred burger king instead of a highly recommended restaurant I would have gone to burger king. I am appreciative of her prompt reaction but the damage was already done. I had a floral arrangement delivered prior to our selected time, highlighting that this moment was special as indicated to the restaurant beforehand. We immediately requested that we get someone else who saved the night from complete disaster. It is highly doubtful that I'll return to this restaurant if this is the display of the staff towards patrons. Perhaps Cindy had an off night??
View was beautiful. Ordered 3 starters: Calamari Fries, P.E.I Hot Pot and Grilled Oysters. All were outstanding. Main Courses at the table included the Surf and Turf, Crispy Skin Snapper and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. All the elements worked well. The cheeses in the Lobster Mac made for a rich and robust flavor. The cook on the Filet Mignon was a perfect medium-rare served with a Cabernet reduction on a parsnip purée that easily rivals, if not bests, the usual mashed potatoes. The lobster retained a pleasant smoke flavor from the wood grill, but was otherwise average. This “surf” side of the dish was most likely from a warm water lobster because It lacked the flavor, texture and sweetness found in cold water varieties. (Maine lobster was available on the menu for market price). The Snapper was served with Cedar Key clams on a fricassee that had intense depth of flavor. The delicately mild and flaky Snapper was a little lost in such a flavor forward dish, and perhaps a little salty from the pancetta. The only major disappointment was the lobster tail on the Lobster Mac. It was undercooked and instantly turned a flavorful dish into $50 Mac and Cheese. That being said, everything else was very enjoyable. I will be returning and won’t hesitate recommending the restaurant to others. (Flights out of nearby TPA made outside dining a little loud).
Great find tucked back in behind the Grand Hyatt! Great food, great service, will definitely be back!
Excellent location. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable!
We sat outside for lunch over the holidays. The food was fantastic. I had the grouper sandwich, and it was cooked perfectly and a healthy portion. The service was on point, and definitely feel like Oystercatchers is consistently the best place in Tampa for seafood.
Always love coming back here. The food is delicious and the location is great. It feels like a hidden gem. The service staff is always friendly. We missed the days of the awesome weekend brunch, the best in town, hoping those days come back soon.
Great service provided by Charles. Both meals were exquisitely prepared by the chef.
It is one of my favorite places to dine in. Specially now that Armani’s is no longer open, will be going more often.
Thanks!!!
Thankfully it was not very cold nor rainey due to the valet parking having been discontinued. We did not know this until we rec'd email confirming reservation the afternoon before our reservation. Being handicapped we would not have kept the reservation had it been raining. As it was we had a lovely meal and evening.
When we made the reservation, we were informed no Sunday brunch buffet was being offered due to COV19 but we would be able to order the same items from the menu and/or a la carte . Hence, we were surprised when we reviewed the limited menu and our inability to obtain items such as regular eggs benedicts and/or omelettes! What was also very disappointing was the quality of the food we're used to obtain from Oystercatchers!
We were there for a brunch before flying out from TPA. It was great- the ambiance, the food (sushi, crab salad especially)... Highly recommended...
I love to have Sunday branch at this place for the view and atmosphere
Brunch was delicious. Definitely recommend the cranberry mimosa and the tiramisu.
All the menu items from appetizers to main course ad desserts were outstanding Reasonable portions and wonderful presentation
Initially we were seated in a separate and barren room. Once that situation was resolved, we had a lovely table. Our server, Bob, was great and knew his was around the menu! From the appetizers, to the main, to the wine. All excellent!
Came for Christmas dinner. Food and service were fabulous. I have a gluten allergy and my server was very attentive regarding my needs. I have a device that will test my food for gluten and my
Meal was clean and free of gluten and I was able to enjoy. Only complaint is the hostess was not enforcing the mask rule. She let a family in and brought them to their table and they weren’t wearing masks.
They were great on Christmas Day!! Awesome experience!!
The food was amazing and the service was even better.. oysters on the half shell were outstanding!
