My friend and I chose Oyster Catchers Brunch for our yearly joint birthday celebration. We were met by friendly staff and our server, Savannah, was very attentive to our needs. I was a bit disappointed in the oysters. There were a bit ‘swampy’. But cverall, we enjoyed the variety of foods offered and most were quite delicious. The dessert selections were wonderfully overwhelming.
I will go back to try the dinner menu.
It was simply delicious! It exceeded our expectations for our Anniversary dinner...I highly recommend it and will definitely go back!
Absolutely FANTASTIC service, delicious food, tasty beverages, and incredible atmosphere!!
Highly excellent! One of my favorites for lunch.
Beautiful view, amazing food and great service
Beautiful setting at the Grand Hyatt on Tampa Bay. The restaurant is a separate building with its own valet parking. You can catch a sunset with a table along the long expanse of windows looking out at the bay.
The cocktails were exceptional with a very nice selection of some non standard and some with a stepped up twist.
We had too shared appetizers. The Oysters Rockefeller had the addition of a Hollandaise sauce with fennel and parmesan cheese and completely drowned out tasting the oyster.
The Roasted Bone Marrow had a spicy Ahi Tuna Tartare, Caper Relish and micro citrus which over powered the bone marrow and made it cold.
I had the Yellowfin Tuna sautéed, it was done medium rare to rare and was very good. The sides were OK.
My wife had the Gulf Snapper wood grilled and said it was OK.
My wife had Creme Brûlée with berries and it was very good.
So two cocktails, two glasses of wine and the food above: $170 without the tip.
We've had better at less expensive restaurants.
Everything was great. Always is.
My wife and I love Oyster Catchers. It is our favorite restaurant in Tampa Bay. The food and staff are always excellent. We just celebrated our anniversary there and stayed in one of the Casita Suites. We had an awesome experience.
Food and service was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed the steamed oyster appetizer and the broiled twin lobster tail entree. Ended the evening with delicious cream brûlée for dessert.
We had a pretty Mother’s Day Dinner. The food was excellent. The ambiance was just great. We will definitely make this place one of our favorites.
From the greeting of the hostess to the outstanding service (Debbie) we loved the experience. The quality of the food is extraordinary.
Beautiful scenery amazing food and fantastic service!!! Definitely will be going regularly.
The food was terrific! The one problem I had was that I wished I had asked for a table with a view of the water and sunset (my fault). Our waiter was patient with us, as we just wanted a glass of wine and a little relaxation before we ordered. No problem! The lobster was perfect for my husband (small appetite) and the grouper was fabulous for me, served exactly as the menu said. The hot sourdough bread was worth the trip. My husband does not like to eat outside (bugs), but I wish I had insisted. The room is pretty with soft neutral colors. The wine list was comprehensive with some nice "other" reds and whites. Having port wine as a dessert choice was good for us!
The food was spaced out very poorly. We weren’t even finished our salads before our entre was brought to the table. For this price range the wait staff was not trained correctly
Been many times and always impressed with atmosphere and quality of food and drinks. Donald is a great waiter.
Our group chose Oystercatcher’s to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The service, food and atmosphere were all exceptional!
Amazing food! Wonderful service! Beautiful place. And make sure to get the Peanut Butter Cup dessert. It's ridiculously good!!
The cocktails were excellent, the oysters Rockefeller were also very good. But the Ahi tuna steak was poorly seasoned and had a odd bland taste. Rather watery broth . The crab stack appeared to be crab cakes fried and stacked, not at all as it was described. Of course the sourdough bread was excellent.
Probably I would not do dinner here anymore although I have been coming here since the early 90’s. I would stick with lunch or late afternoon drinks and appetizer of the oysters
Celebrating early Mother’s Day!
We hate to see the Manager Marlon leave as he is excellent, very attentive to customers and he works very diligently making sure everyone is well taken cared of. Oystercatchers is on our top lists, Never missed Oystercatchers whenever we stay in Grand Hyatt Tampa, excellent restaurant more than 5 stars!
Amazing food. Drinks never empty. Never crazy but never dull
Booked for 4 and sat in the bar/lounge area. Service was adequate, food was mediocre and as such i felt the venue was over-hyped and overpriced.
Knowledgeable wait staff, excellent food preparation & presentation with scenic atmosphere, as an aside!
We are from VA and have a daughter who just graduated from U of Tampa. We have stayed in the Casidas adjacent to the restaurant over her 4 years there and that was how we first discovered Oystercatchers.....we are foodies and we have NEVER been disappointed! We chose it again for our daughters graduation dinner and we're hosting visiting family from VA and Boston because it is our favorite place in Tampa. We had a party of 10 and made reservations well in advance so was a bit disappointed when we were not seated until 9 for an 8:30 reservation. Once again food and service/waiter was superb but will be sure to stres next time importance of timely seating with a large party which included my 90 year old mother. Our daughter is staying to live and work in Tampa so expect to visit more in the future!
Oystercatchers still remains one of our three favorite restaurants in Tampa Bay. We enjoyed the lobster bisque velvety with deep flavor and the fresh strawberry salad was fresh with creamy goat cheese to start our meal. Our Entrees were Rum glazed Grouper delicious with a thick rum glaze over moist grouper. The sweet potato purée was a bit watery and green beans raw. Husbands mixed grill was delicious with the exception of the lobster tail a bit dry. The butter/chive, and ghost-pepper sauces were his favorites.
Staff presented us with a anniversary surprise delicious creme brûlée one of the best we have had ( delicious caramel and vanilla notes complimented the dessert). Chocolate Torte with berries and chocolate mousse were excellent as well.
We chose to dine early on a Friday night and stay dressed in our elegant office attire. We were placed in a
separate room by ourselves with the gorgeous view of Tampa Bay and then two foreign speaking diners in cut off jean shorts were seated across from us. 20 minutes later a party of ten seated in same small room. We were not impressed with managements decision to seat a large party near us either. It was hard to hear each other as the others decided to shout instead of talk. Couple in shorts more appropriately for bar or outside dining.
We still had a lovely anniversary dinner due to food quality and wait staff being exceptional at their jobs.
Thank you for the delicious dessert.
Both meals we ate there included food that was amazing and delicious, as well as service that was friendly and available without hovering or being intrusive. Fantastic!
Mosquitoes outside were overwhelming.
It is a great place to have dinner at sunset as the restaurant has a great view and even a private beach. It is a little hard to find tucked away in the corner but the staff was very patient and the food was great.
We came to have crab legs. The last time we were in Tampa was about 12 years ago and we sat outdoors overlooking the bay. It was wonderful. This time the crab legs were a huge disappointment for my husband. The first plate had two huge knuckle pieces with a 4” leg attached to one of the knuckles and and it wasn’t split properly. We sent it back then got 3-4 inch pieces instead of whole split legs. And he received a small plastic cup of liquid butter. It should have been drawn butter over a lighted candle. I had called the restaurant before our trip to make sure the big red crabs legs were available. So we expected the same as our last visit. We didn’t get it. I hate paying $72 to be disappointed. We won’t be back.
The food was delicious and service wonderful! Only minor problem is the birds that wanted to join you for dining at your table.
Awesome seafood, scenery and service.
Great scenery, quick service, relaxing and laid back
I took my mother for a pre-Mother's Day and Birthday celebration. The staff and manager were wonderful and attentive. The food choices fit our needs. The ambiance overlooking Tampa Bay was wonderful. Thank you. I'LL BE BACK.
I have been coming in for years. Food is good, scenic view is unbeatable.
Fantastic Brunch, maybe the best in all of a Florida! We brought friends who had never been to brunch before and they were blown away. Diane our server really makes a visit to Oystercatchers, First Class! We highly recommend a visit to this jewel of Tampa Bay,
Hands down the best seafood experience I’ve had
Awesome restaurant, I recommend going when the sun is setting l, very romantic.
It was an amazing sunset dinner overlooking the water. My wife ate some of your delicious canadian oysters and Grouper. She was a satisfied foodie when it was all said and done. Thanks for the great date night.
Third time at Oystercatchers during time in Tampa. The food and service has been excellent! Enjoyed cocktails, wine, Black Grouper and Filet Mignon over grits. Helpful thoughts as we made our decisions and perfect timing by our server as he checked on our needs. We'll be back.
