Need to book at 1:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
I would definitely recommend Ottolenghi for lunch but I wasn’t so keen on the evening menu.
Really great evening with mellow ambience and friendly staff. We had 6 plates to share and then 2 deserts - it was all fab. Quite expensive but I think worth it for the atmosphere, service and quality of the food. Thanks!
So delicious. Very alert and kind staff. Great genuine food, which has become very rare.
Food was fresh and full of flavour, service was excellent, but quite expensive.
Had a lovely experience - food was excellent, staff were super friendly - couldn’t fault a thing
Good food and service, just a bit limited on choices . They had run out of the fish main quite early in the night.
I was here in June and it was much better then. The food arrived too quickly and all at the same time. The dishes didn’t have distinct tastes - they seemed the same. The waiters were very friendly but it felt rushed. The wine portion was very small for the price and I was told they measured it. That doesn’t leave a good feeling.
Excellent food and service. Only slight criticism would be the deserts - the cheesecake and the chocolate and amaretto cake. Cheesecake was a bit heavy - thought it might have been bought in, and cake needed more amaretto. Previous experience with the deserts at the spitalifields branch was much better. All in all though, it is a great place, highly recommended.
I've always loved Ottolenghi, I used to live in Angel and pick it up on my way home for dinner. Its been a few years and after holding 3 of his cookbook I came back for my birthday. I had an amazing experience and the food were both excellent. The service was perfect, the guys did not miss a beat and were very attentive. The only thing that was a let down, was I had previously booked the table, however when I was seated it was at the communal table? Not ideal when I booked it for my birthday and walk in were given priority on separate tables.
I came here in 2007 and always wanted to come back,
But of course things put you elsewhere, but we came back and it was very nice to be back again and we will be coming back again in a few months time with friends,
So thankyou for a lovely evening and great service and we look forward to seeing all again soon.

Pre-theatre supper with friends. Timely service - very important with a pre-theatre supper and the quality of the dishes we ordered was excellent: unusual combinations of flavours and textures.
Excellent meal for a first visit to this restaurant. The Quail and Aubergine dishes were lovely and flavoursome. Not sure I would like to sit on the long table but was happy with a table for two at the side. Will definitely go again
Wie kann der gesamte Fisch und das gesamte Brot aus sein?
Incredible and creative flavors in each dish and not too expensive- will definitely be coming back!
Disappointing experience. Th
The food was excellent and service was outstanding. I was not a huge fan of the communal tables, that would be my only negative point. However it’s part of the restaurant’s policy and they do tell you in advance that most tables are communal.
Very attentive staffing making sure we had our dishes promptly in order to get to the theatre in time.
Food delicious, making me want to try to make the dishes at home myself.
Many thanks Mr Ottolenghi for a marvellous dinner!
I had heard about Ottolenghi through an Australian podcast that gave it rave reviews. I thought I had to try it and I’m glad I did because it lived up to expectations. Great service, great wine and great food. The bread and deserts were outstanding (flourless chocolate rum tart was a winner). Food was cooked perfectly. Can’t recommend enough.
Enjoyable pre-theatre meal at Ottolenghi Islington. Some fantastic flavours in a tapas style - well explained by our waiter.
Food and service was fantastic. The only issue is the seating style of benches, it feels like you are having dinner with everyone else. However this is personal preference so you might enjoy that. Other than that, such a lovely restaurant.
We just love this restaurant. The food, service and vibe are exceptional. Worth the wait and difficult to get reservations... Yummm
Great food. Nice staff. Moderately priced for London.
Great meal with a vegan menu - will probably go again.
Firstly, the service was brilliant. Our waitress was friendly, informative and attentive. The food was outrageously good. So many flavours, just so so delicious. Would love to go again!
Unfortunately our experience was marred by frit flies flying around our table n food which was off putting.
Delicious food, brilliant service, very loud at the shared table and very close to neighboring diners.
Delicious food always a treat
Ottolenghi is a pioneer, making the most carnivore of us all reconsider vegetables as they are cuisined with care, heart, thoughts! They become so exciting and definitely take over meats and fish Highly recommended!!!
Excellent food in an informal atmosphere. Very kind people with lot of experience. Just two remarks. The lighting could be better and the music a bit softer.
Food was incredible as always, but we were squished in between other groups on a long table and could I hardly hear my partner from across the table.
Definitely recommend Spitafields restaurant for more space over this venue.
Seen Otto Lenghi on the TV and liked the look of the dishes on the programmes I had seen.
booked on the day. I was lucky to get the time I wished, as when I looked later the time had gone!
arrived on time and was greeted in a friendly manner by the front of houses staff. Seated by the maitre d' at one of the refectory style tables. I chose one of the counter dishes and one of the kitchen (hot) dishes. Both were superb. Both were flavourful and nicely presented. I was a bit dubious about the size, but after eating them I was still had enough space for a delicious dessert!
I had thought that Ottolenghi Islington had slipped off its perch a little as the last time I visited it was good, but not outstanding. Last night it was definitely back to full deliciousness. The food was interesting with lots of ingredients I did not know and tastes that burst from the dishes - the portion sizes were good for sharing. We loved it.
The service was impeccable! I love your menu and the presentation was stunning as usual. The candles were a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Large shared table and a relaxed feel to the meal. Food was exquisite - so much flavour in every mouthful and beautifully presented!
The restaurant delivered exactly as it promised: brilliantly innovative food presented in an exciting setting. My only minor issue was that I did not find it easy to sit straight in the plastic chairs
maybe a little bit more space between chairs at the table, people are seated very close to each other.
We went out for a birthday dinner with friends. We sat near the end of the long communal table with others to our right and left and had a long leisurely delectable meal. It was easy to converse and wonderful to be in a bright and welcoming space. Vegetable and meat dishes alike had unique spicing and flavors and were delicious as was the wine and desert.
Slightly underwhelming, given the hype around it. Food was good, but nothing particularly outstanding. Service was very good, though, and the ambiance is rather cozy. We didn't get a dessert, as the menu was including only a small subset of what was available on the counter - had we seen the pastries before, we would have probably got one.
Absolutely incredible! Highly recommend to anyone for any event of any dietary restrictions. Best food I’ve eaten in London!
A beautiful, contemporary restaurant that serves simply delicious food. Dishes marry middle-eastern flavours in a way that is somehow exquisite, original, fresh and surprising. It's a great option for vegetarians as many plates hero vegetable ingredients. The wine list is equally well put together and also has elements of the unexpected in its selection. In the evenings, Ottolenghi has a minimalist, candlelit, quite intimate feel which is very relaxing. By day its lovely and cool. It's quite a special place.
