We went before going to Sadlers Wells - Food was great and service excellent...quite expensive when you take in to account the number of dishes/plates you need.
A wish fulfilled - aleays wanted to visit and was not disappointed. Delicious food, great service and lively atmosphere.
This was our first time at this particular Ottolenghi restaurant and the food was, as always, phenomenal. Love the tapas style small plates to share, and the relaxed ambiance.
Loved it. Food tastes great and looks fantastic. Nice attractive place to sit, good choices for wine. Would have liked possibility of an aperitif that wasn’t a g and t but small pony. Have give 4 overall since service slightly unconnected: given wrong menus 3 times and an extra glass of wine took a while. Mostly charming and friendly, though. Is I think my favourite north London restaurant
Food excellent highly recommend as always service is excellent
Wonderful, brilliant food creations. Nice wines.
Table and chairs are too low, and not so comfortable.
Visible atmosphere was OK, but noise was too much for our conversations.
Very attentive staff but not OTT. Natural and sincere.
Food as always was amazing. A real treat for a special occasion.
Perfect evening, amazing food and great service what more could you ask for. Will be returning
I know we are in London, but the value for money was not good.
For the size of the portions - tapas size - you will get better value for money elsewhere.
the low tables and chairs, whilst potentially contemporary, don't make for a great relaxed / conversational meal occasion.......must be designed to get the customers turned-over quickly!!
The staff were the best part of the total package.
won't be rushing back
Great meal in lovely surroundings with very friendly and helpful staff. Thanks!
Very relaxed and enjoyable meal . Lovely unusual combinations of flavour and texture . Absolutely beautiful delicate hake dish which was my favourite. Staff pleasant and attentive.
I have a lot of food intolerances so do not eat out much but if I do I need it to be excellent. Ottolenghi is always excellent. Each dish is made with love and no two dishes are the same. This is very high up on my list of favourites and each time I go, the dishes change and there are new and delectable treats on the menu.
To be honest this was not what I would call a great experience. All of the dishes I found to be very expensive, but a small piece of gem lettuce with some microscopic pieces of goats cheese at £9.80 took the biscuit.
It's absolutely wonderful food, that makes what we eat on a day-to-day basis seem mediocre and hardly worth bothering with. I'll be practising the recipes at home.
Really impressed by this place and right opposite the theatre too! I loved the stunning white decor, service was really friendly (even though we got stuck in traffic and were terribly late), wine was exceptional and the food was light, imaginative and delicious. More casual than I imagined but great for a local date night or pre/post theatre with friends.
Great place for a pre theatre meal. Lovely food and very good service
Ottolenghi is a great restaurant, elegant comfortable atmosphere with excellent food. Service was a tiny bit lax the night we were there - but overall a lovely evening out.
Lovely ambiance and very good service, the food was second to none.
Delicious food, subtle flavours, good variety, very good service and cheerful interesting waitress. Perfect for the Almeida. And the price was fair.
Outside it looks like a shop for lovely cakes but when you step in it looks like a marketplace where you can buy your food en sit down while it is cooked for you. And you want to come back for the food, what a taste, I had the vegatarian options and was surprised about the original taste.
Excellent food. Knowledgeable staff. Very uncomfortable seating!
Ottolenghi never disappoints. The cold starters were packed full of imaginative ingredients and the hot items from the menu were delicious. We have been before and the quality of food and service has not changed at all over the years we have been coming.
Overall a great experience - food was delicious and service really good. Recommend for pre-theatre.
Simple products transformed into exquisite dishes. Just want to try them all.
Onze 12 jarige huwelijks jubileum gevierd met heerlijke maaltijden
A great way to celebrate a birthday with grown up kids. Relaxed ambiance and a fabulous variety of flavours.
Absolutely beautiful food with really friendly and helpful staff
Absolutely delicious food and am excellent wine list. There was not a single dish that wasn't stupendous, and the dessert selection was to die for. Of particular note was celeriac braised in buttermilk, spicy grilled aubergine and tomato yoghurt sauce, and apple sultana cake with maple frosting.
The restaurant design was modern and stylish and the staff were friendly and professional. My only real criticism was that the ambience was very loud, and my party had trouble hearing one another at times. A gentleman seated near my party seemed extremely displeased about everything and was rude to the waitstaff and I can't imagine why because they were extremely accommodating and the food was delicious.
Delicious fabulous food. Can’t wait to see go back!
Amazing food, good service and atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back.
Great restaurant I come here every trip to London and never fails to disappoint. Staff, ambiance and food are fantastic, please open a restaurant in Edinburgh!
Just amazing! Good was so precise, yet so simple!
Really good service too!
Ottolinghi does not disappoint! The food was delicious and creative.
We booked a table for "dinner date" - and got seats in the middle of the crowded long table. It was not really nice for the date, also the food was excellent.
Excellent food and good service, felt a bit squashed on the refectory table, we were okay but felt sorry for those in the middle. At these prices people deserve a little more privacy.
Wine (red Syrah) was not expensive but very poor. Too poor to match any of the food. Wine list limited by many unknown wines. A creeping suspicion from the Syrah quality of wine is that the restaurant is trying to increase its margins by buying cheap wine.
Small choice of beers in small bottles not worthy of a London restaurant.
The food was well cooked and tasty but the ingredients were very cheap and with the prices charged it is not good value.
The chocolate rum cake was divine though.....
Food less interesting than usual and service slowed after main course leaving no time for one of the wonderful desserts before our theatre engagement.
Excellent service as always. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. The food is simple and creative at the same time. It transports you to a Mediterranean scene and you feel the scent of a summer sea breeze as bite after bite of mesmerising dishes create an unforgettable culinary experience.
Always amazing healthy food. Lots of well constructed dishes with layers of flavour and texture. No one has a better aubergine in London than Yotam.
Fabulous flavours, beautifully crafted. And the sharing-plate format means you can try more dishes. Love it!
