I was visiting London from New Zealand and am a fan of Yotam’s recipes.
The service was impeccable and the food was well worth it.
Highly recommend. I wish I could return again soon!
Fabulous food, good choice of sharing plates. Fresh original salad dishes. Shared long table fine when we visited as not very busy, but not great for a quiet conversation
Nice food, more hot veggie options would have been nice
Nice, tasty dishes that are difficult to prepare on one's own, in a buzzy ambience. Dependable. Not cheap but worth it!
There's a tempting array of breads to start with and then we enjoyed a delicious selection of small dishes and a dessert each. It's worth keeping hold of the menu to remind yourself what is in all the innovative combinations of ingredients.
Good food - my chargrilled octopus was the best I’ve had. Did initially get squeezed onto a communal table when there were plenty of smaller tables free but after a quiet word with the waitress we were moved to a table for 2.
The service was excellent and the food good and interesting.
Superb attention from staff & my dietary needs were very carefully considered and catered for.
We couldn't fault the service and the food & wine were amazing.
I am a big fan of Yotam's food and therefore was really looking forward to enjoying a meal at his restaurant as I am from Birmingham and don't have his restaurants on my doorstep. He did not disappoint with lots of different flavours together.
So delicious! Portions are small and it’s pricey but every mouthful is worth it. Highly recommended for a special occasion - but state when you book and you might be lucky to get a table for two (as we did) rather than communal seating.
The restaurant thrives on the post-theatre crowd. We headed over after a performance and ordered a range of dishes washed down with a bottle of wine, coffee and cake. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was delicious, with the stuffed courgette flowers a particular hit. The only gripe would be that we wanted more of each dish! That being said we had a really lovely evening and will definitely be back.
Outstanding food and service. Particularly impressive vegetarian options.
Our dinner at Ottolenghi’s was a fantastic experience, great food, super nice and professional staff, just perfect.
Excellent food and service. a bit awkwardly crushed against other random people.
The rating would be much better, if the food would have been perpared with more spices as they are used in Ottolenghi's cook books. Actually we are great fans of him and so we were a bit disappointed.
The food was excellent but the portion size was a little underwhelming. However the service was exquisite and worth a visit for that alone.
Great portion and tasty vegetables and dessert
Food was very good, though there were no all-star dishes this season.
SUPERB in every way, but for the HORRIFIC noise level. I yanked out my hearing aids to stifle the shrill noise, but it was still unpleasant. I still chafe at sharing a table with strangers, but so be it. Noise and tables aside, this remains one of our all-time favourite restaurants -- the food is unlike anything anywhere, and wonderful in every way. We've been many many times over the years, and I have to say that last night's dinner was the best ever. Bravo to the Ottolenghi team for keeping up, and even raising, their standards! Nobody else cooks like this!
Delicieux, original dans les associations d'epices , d'herbes. Specialement bon pour la tranche de chou fleur.
Par contre nous etions avec un ami vegan et il n'y avait pas de dessert pour lui a part un morceau de chocolat.
Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! We ordered some items from the hot and cold menu, and several desserts. Prices were reasonable.
Everything was perfect, but the airconditioning was a bit too cold...
Both the food and the wine were outstanding. The waiters were attentive but not overly so. Our only regret was that we didn't have time to try one of the delicious cakes for dessert. Will always want to go back again.
We were a party of four tourists from Australia. We loved the dining eperience and found it memorable. The ambience and service was excellent and a great deal of thought had been put into the flavours and taste of the food. However we did not feel that we got value for money as the portions were small.
Sons graduation celebration
I think people working in restaurant are exhausted. They continue to smile (American style) but there is no more truth in that smile. Portion increase, but quality decrease in Ottolenghi Islington. It’s still more than correct, but we were a little deceived...
Second visit to this restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. The food is visually exciting and is exceptionally good. The mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes are seamless and each course I have ordered so far is as interesting and delicious. The wine list is relatively short but both unusual and well priced. I like the inclusion of Orange wine which we will see more of in the near future. This is supported by especially friendly and knowledgeable staff who work hard to ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible. A gem
Everything about the restaurant is great except that it is always very cold! I asked them to turn down the air conditioner which was blowing onto us put it kept coming back on
If you are looking for personal space, don’t come here as our neighbors who were seated next to us were very sniffy about our company! LOL!
That said, the service is extremely personable, the food is to die for and the portion sizes are ideal for sharing, affording you the chance to eat everything on the menu that day. Super fresh delicious ingredients with great provenance. What’s not to love?
Great fresh Mediterranean food - experience especially for fans of Ottoleghni’s cooksbooks
Great food but extremely noisy and communal table means no chance of a private conversation even with the cover of that noise. As long as you know that, I would recommend the restaurant because the food really is worth it.
Staff were responsive but had that slight attitude that they were doing us a favour serving us .... which I don’t like.
This is was my first visit to one of the Ottolenghi restaurants and it did not disappoint. You can always count on interesting and delicious combinations of flavors, textures, and ingredients from Ottolenghi. I will definitely try to come again on my next visit to London.
Whenever we go to London Village we try and eat at an Ottolenghi restaurant. The food here was as good as past visits elsewhere...wasn’t overly keen on the White House but that’s a matter of taste and it was changed.
This is our favorite restaurant in the world and this visit was even better than the last one. Wonderful service from our waiter Mohammed, delicious food including salads with artichokes, broad beans, and eggplant and three other dishes including octopus and mackerel, delicious sweets (fabulous carrot cake) and a great Italian wine. Every dish was beautifully seasoned and balanced. A perfect evening and at a very reasonable price. A real pleasure from start to finish.
Ottolenghi Islington. I have been going to Ottolenghi since it opened and it is always excellent. It is very noisy so no good for a quiet conversation- the tables empty and refill immediately. The desserts are to die for. You need to book about 3 months ahead.
Enjoyed a wonderful evening here for a friend's birthday. Lovely food and drink and service. The staff know the food and drink and made great recommendations.
Food was really nice but I think the Ottolenghi cook book recipes are probably a bit better. Good, friendly service. Decor not to my taste.
Food always amazing. Shame about the atmosphere, felt a little rushed.
I can’t fault it. Everything is done to make sure your dining experience feels special.
