The dinner was absolutely amazing. The drinks were great. And the service was immaculate. It was my first time here and I will definitely be going back. There was live entertainment which just added to the excellent meal.
Very upscale, perfect for a celebration night. The ambiance was fantastic with great views and sophisticated vibes. The service was impeccable and the food came out quickly. Great dishes.
We were disappointed. We were so looking forward to going to the Halekulani and the Orchids brunch has always been outstanding the 7 times we've been there, but this time it was not. Our waiter forgot to bring our juice so we had to flag down another waiter, it took 20-25 minutes after our meal to get our check, they always uphold a sense of elegance but there were customers in shorts, sneakers and tee shirts, my husband's prime rib was tough and tasteless. There was only half the amount of food that was offered pre-pandemic yet the price is still $79 per person. There were no breakfast foods except omelettes, no breads, few desserts. In that big room it seemed very empty with only a few food stations. It's definitely changed. For the price I would go somewhere else.
Delicious food, great service, and beautiful views!
I had prawn salad to start and sea bass for main dish, excellent.
For such a High-end place, Waiting 40 min on a fish and getting it rare (cannot cut it)
No Keiki menu
No cocktail menu
Not many vegetarian/Pescetarian options
It was great, nice to see the hotel open again. I liked the complete breakfast offering. I had the vegetarian option which was perfect. I felt very comfortable since it was outside and service was excellent.
Invited my client.
We came in to celebrate our 43 Anniversary
Food and service were good
Looking forward to Orchids expanding the food Menu and the Wine Menu also
We miss the Italian Dishes Chef made before covid ..........
As always, wonderful food and service.
The restaurant is an icon in these crazy days.
Wonderful dinner at Orchids and a nicely updated menu with thoughtful choices. Food was exceptionally fresh and service was excellent.
Great location and setting. Service was disorganized with three different individuals asking us for water preference. Service improved as the meal progressed. Prix fixe menus were nice. We each tried one of the two choices and enjoyed them both. The shrimp salad was beautiful and delicious with large shrimp. Brazino was cooked perfert and coconut cake outstanding. The other choice was the Hamachi with peppers was very nice. Filet with foie gras on Filet was outstanding as well. Tiramisu had a fabulous presentation. Ended night with coffee and when asked if I wanted a refill, was charged for 2nd cup - not appreciated.
We were delighted to hear that Orchids has re-opened recently.
Outstanding experience, great food and service, Hawaiian music, next to beach, view of Diamond Head. So happy Orchids has reopened again.
Loved the food! Every food station had a clear divider & staff gave the food requested. Guests & staff were all masked. Outstanding service!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Brunch at Orchids is the most divine experience! The waterfront, open air ambience and service are wonderful and the food is sublime. We dined on the freshest seafood, sushi, and roasted turkey/prime rib. There are classics to order like omelette and eggs Benedict. The desserts are rich, but in small portions so you can try them all-French style mini eclairs, macaroons, ice cream, and their signature coconut cake, light as a cloud! No wonder this restaurant sits in a resort “befitting heaven”!
The brunch buffet doesn't disappoint. Served as you select works well in this time, otherscould learn from Orchids. Impeccable service, great food, many options.
This has been a favorite for so many years. We were so lucky that the Halekulani reopened on 10/1 while we were here on our yearly visit. By far The Best brunch experience one can have! Make sure you make a reservation because itis rare you can just walk up and be able to get in.
We had a fantastic experience at Orchids. The food, view, and atmosphere exceeded our expectations, and the staff was kind and hard working. Overall, this was by far the best meal we had in Waikiki. Although it was an expensive meal, it was worth every penny. We had another prix fixe meal in the area, and it didn’t even compare to Orchids (for almost twice the price). They may have been working out a few kinks since reopening last week but that will likely resolve itself with time.
Everything was perfect. Just the chiffon cake which is not up to the standard of this restaurant.
New menu trying to convert to Italian restaurant while it’s a traditional Hawaiian restaurant and very upscale before
Suggest chg it back. It was a winning combination. This isn’t. LN
We had a reservation for La Mer the dinner restaurant in the same hotel. The hotel and this restaurant were being refurbished, so we decided to eat at Orchid. So happy we did! Had their 5 course tasting menu. Different from La Mer, but just as good. Service was impeccable. The setting was ocean side with a view of Diamond Head. Food was prepared in an excellent manner. People were happy to have their jobs back and went out their way to make us feel special!
Stumbled upon this place for
S.O’s birthday. The hotel it is inside is beautiful. The waitstaff were friendly, and genuinely kind. The food was outstanding. The whole experience was wonderful. Evening attire required for dinner - glad we didn’t try for dinner in our beach attire lol. Would highly recommend.
The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect. We dined there for our 15th anniversary. It was a last minute choice, so we were very pleased and impressed.
Great to celebrate our 15th anniversary where we got married. Was dreaming of our delicious wedding cake - hazelnut buttercream - but everything was delicioua
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at The Orchids. We enjoyed the food and great ambience. The waiters are very efficient. We love the food.
Great service and food! Great atmosphere and kind staff.
Welcome back, Orchids!
Wonderful beachside dining is back, good food, some of the original wait staff & lovely, delicious 2 course lunch menu.
Seafood curry was scrumptious.
Virgin Bloody Mary was made from scratch, super crisp celery & soooo good.
Love the warm breads & butter sprinkled with red alae salt.
We walked in and had our vaccinations cards ready to show and they questioned the authenticity of the cards. Then we were seated and it took them at least 10 minutes to even get us water while people who were seated after us already were ordering. Throughout the night the waiter paid no attention to us and did not explain how the prix fixe menu worked so we were confused. Nice looking place but terrible service.
Amazing evening! Service and food was great just like before, So happy they are back open!
Our return to one of our favorite restaurants for 30 years was wonderful! Last time was Feb 2019 when CV19 shut down Hawaii. Our amazing server David w 18 years experience was a total delight. Food & new dishes were all delicious! Of course desserts 🍨 🍰 are not to be missed!! Can’t wait to return quickly! 🌸🌺💮☮️🤙🏻🖖🏼🙏🏻
The best brunch on the island and the new prefix dinner menus are amazing. So happy to see Orchids back open! Beautiful hotel, as well
Great location to celebrate a special occasion - watching the sun set, Waikiki and Diamond Head - and delicious food and drinks made this evening one to remember!
The brunch was amazing! The buffet set up was elegant and pleasing as well as very clean! Amazing service and amazing staff!
The brunch never disappoints! Elegant atmosphere, amazing food & amazing service! I will continue to come back every time I am in Waikiki.
Beautiful buffet and location. I loved all the food and the staff was delightful. I appreciate that there is soups, sushi, and plenty of healthier options as well as divine desserts. The ambience can’t be beat.
We enjoyed our dining experience at Orchids. We arrived about 15 min to sunset and enjoyed a great view of the sunset from out table. We also loved the view of Diamond Head. Outside Orchids, near the old kiawe tree, the evening’s performers played beautiful Hawaiian music and danced the hula. We were fortunate to experience all this from our ocean side table at Orchids.
The food was as wonderfully prepared and tasted delicious. It’s what we’ve come to expect from Orchids. It was nice to feel some “normalcy” again.
Came here for breakfast while staying at Halepuna. On the pricier side, but good food and great ambience. Friendly service. Try the Halekulani Popovers.
It was the first night Orchids had reopened after being closed over a year. They did not have their best night, very slow service, menus were confusing and more upscale ( seemed more like a La Mer menu with expensive price fix meals) than before and we had knats in our drinks (they finally covered our drinks), food (imagine trying to dip your bread into olive oil with knats!) and on the table. The waiter stated they DID NOT do a practice night, just came in the day before to set up. Hopefully soon they will be back to their wonderful self!
