Located in Historic Downtown Tarboro, one of the oldest towns in North Carolina, On the Square Restaurant offers seasonal, sustainable ingredients that are celebrated throughout the ever-changing menu. Open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and for lunch on Monday through Friday, we are as proud of our food and comfortable atmosphere as we are of our eclectic and value-driven wine list.

                                                          Our meal was delicious! Our server Bronson was gracious, friendly and well versed on the menu. This is one of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints.

                                                          Stephanie and support wait staff were very attentive. We were on a tight time schedule and they helped get us out in a timely manner without feeling rushed. The food was “the best we’ve had out in a restaurant in quite a while”. (To quote my husband)

                                                          The calamari was on the entre menu, but makes a great appetizer for two to three. It was the best we've ever had. The wait staff was very attentive. The duck was tender and moist. The curry was unique, but flavorful. Although we don't usually have dessert, we had to try Rusty's peanut brittle ice cream. It did not disappoint! They also have an extensive wine selection. A great find in a small town!
