Don’t know if it’s nicer downstairs... but upstairs had absolutely zero ambience, no music and all we could hear was talking, the lighting was bright and cold, overall just a really canteen feeling, starters where undesirable, main was beef, very nice! Desert medioca! Very confused as the reviews were so good!
Had the tasting menu which was lovely, service was excellent and you couldn't fault the food.
Was expensive though.
Absolutely delicious food, great wine, fabulous service and all in souch a lovely atmosphere/venue. Perfect for a special occasion.
We have always wanted to try this restaurant having passed it many times. It didn't disappoint. The service, ambience and cuisine were first class. We ate downstairs in the 'Library' which I highly recommend. It's quiet and the atmosphere is gentile and cosy. So much so in fact, we were reluctant to leave! Will most definitely dine here again.
We came to Odette's to celebrate Mother's Day with friends from Canada. Without exception everyone really enjoyed the experience. The beef was absolutely delicious with a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pud and the halibut was said to be "the best ever". The food was so delicious we all had to have dessert! Will return as soon as possible!
The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.
We had a wonderful lunch from start to finish.
Can't wait to go back!!!
Beautiful food with welsh hints across the menu! Loved it! Perfect for parents 40th wedding anniversary celebration.
This was our first time at Odette's, made a last minute late night reservation. What a discovery, excellent service, interesting and creative menu, delicious meal, a wonderful wine list and a great ambience. Will definitely return.
My second visit to Odette’s did not disappoint. I was remembered by Maitre d’ and given same table as my first visit which I thought was a very nice act.
Food was as delicious as last time the varying mushroom style, Burford egg with garlic was divine, Sunday roast perfection, finished off with a gorgeous chocolate pave. Bravo!
Wonderful restaurant. My wife and I visited on Saturday evening and we both enjoyed the tasting menu. It was superb value for money (6 courses £55 per head). The service was exceptional too - my wife is pregnant and once we mentioned this they modified every last detail to ensure she could enjoy all the ingredients, from cooking through the beef to adapting certain dishes to ensure she could eat everything on the plate. It might seem like a fairly routine expectation but they were so conscientious and it meant we could just get on and enjoy the meal in the knowledge that they had everything covered. The dishes were fantastic and we'll certainly be back again!
Had a lovely Valentines dinner.
The set menu was well balanced, seasonal and most importantly delicious.
I had the wine pairing, which complimented the food incredibly well.
The only negative was an additional £50 charge made to my card after I’d left. I believe they got the bill wrong, however I’m disappointed I wasn’t informed, nor have they sent me a receipt.
The experience was very positive however, and I would absolutely recommend.
Spot on, been many a time and things only get better!!....
Jaffa Cake’s the business!!...
Very nice place in a nice neighbourhood. You’d think it’s a little local restaurant, but it competes well with city centre fine dining establishments.
Our third visit and our third brilliant meal. Great service, great food and complementary canapés that are always exciting.
I hadn't been to Odette's in Primrose Hill for awhile, but we heard there was a new chef so decided to try the lunch special. It was excellent! A lovely leek and potato soup with a poached egg was the starter, followed by red mullet with crispy squid and chorizo. Very good. Great service and a nice atmosphere, plus it was very good value. We will be back!
Brilliant food and excellent friendly service
We enjoyed an absolutely lovely anniversary lunch at Odette's. Superb food, excellent service, perfect ambiance. The prix fixe menu offers exceptional value. We will return, especially for a special occasion. But really, it's such great value that we would also consider it at any time... Hmmm... maybe today!?!
Had a very lovely evening, it was my husbands birthday. Lovely waiter.
Rather strange service, quite stuffy and also forgetful when it came to looking after the wine. Took us a while to get a drink as we sat down. And they were weirdly hushed when the servers talked to each other! HOWEVER the food was superb, and the place is lovely and interestingly decorated. I would recommend to friends but I would flag up the service
I hadn't been for some time and had forgotten just how good this gem of a restaurant is. Outstanding food - it was a casual Saturday lunch so we went for the set menu. Delicious flavours and combinations. Excellent, attentive and friendly service and well-paced. We will not leave it so long before we visit again. It was just perfect. (And the best coffee in London, in my opinion!)
Nice and quiet ambiance for a gourmet dinner. Original and tasty arrangements and simple quality wine list.
lovely lunch, interesting light and well paced definitely will go back and introduce it to more friends.
my second visit to Odette's did not disappoint...amazing atmosphere and divine food...I love the ambience..the perfect package!!
Lovely experience. Attention to detail. Wonderful creative dishes. Top service. Truly lovely.
The tasting menu was good but not fantastic. The food was perfectly tasty but for me it just didn't have the wow factor. The upstairs dining room looked to be buzzier than where we were (downstairs) which felt a bit like someone's lounge. The service was very good.
Good and friendly service from our waitress although young male staff seemed stand offish. Food inventive and good except poor roast beef. Not sure rump cut worked? Second time got caught by pre roasted spuds- eating at 2.30 were overdone and pretty tough but unsatisfactory for a place of this standard. Used to have more atmosphere I think years ago...,
An absolute perfect dining experience at the Chefs Table at Idettes in Primrose Hill. Not only Food Perfection but Amazing Service and Bob Homie from All the Staff and perfect wine pairing with the Tasting Menu !! All our guests were blown away by the whole experience. Many many thanks and can't wait to do the 400 mile round trip to Do It Again. Top Marks
Great food at a very good price for the quality of food on offer. Had 4 choices of each course for a set price with a great choice of wine. Ideal for a special meal. We went for a fairly early lunch (12.45) and it was very quiet. By 2pm the atmosphere was much livelier but still felt special
Astonishingly good meal at Odette's. Super tasting menu with carefully paired wines. Well-constructed dishes presented with flair by an attentive staff. Would not hesitate to go back.
I have eaten at Odettes at least 10 times and I have never been disappointed. Always leave with very satisfied stomach and taste buds. The friends and family that I have introduced to this restaurant have been equally impressed. A really comfortable and friendly ambience and on a fine summers day sitting at the window table looking out to Primrose Hill Park is superb. Food is excellent and service very good. Thank you to chef and management.
Excellent food, great ambience. The tasting menu is very good value!
Had to ask several staff, several times for more butter, bread. Asked for the bright lights over the table to be dimmed. Who designed the lighting? awful unless you like migraines. They kept saying they would dim the lights, but only after four requests did they do so, for a while, then the chef turned them up again. The tasting menu (meat) was lovely, but if it wasn't for the 7 slices of bread we had each, we would have left hungry. (we are thin Europeans)
Please sort out the lighting and increase the volume of food in the tasting menu, and follow through with requests by customers to avoid having to make them repeat the requests to numerous staff.
Food was amazing. Service was poor. Staff always on the back foot trying to cope. Never asked if needed anything, always had to wave down staff who often promised but would forget to deliver. Amount of food was too little. Lighting; think McDonalds. (inappropriate glass covers on light bulbs. Must as well eat while looking into car head lights)
The last time I was at this restaurant, 6 months ago? the service was also an issue. Bad organisation of staff duties and always too busy to help.
Egg was delicious, crab lasagne very good but slightly different and not quite as amazing as the old version (That had mushroom soup poured over it). Still very good
Had a lovely dinner with friends - the food was splendid with each course of the tasting menu delicious and unique. Great evening!
The restaurant has a very soft, intimate atmosphere. The food is really good and it shows a great attention to details. The lunch menu is good value. The a la carte menu is quite pricy.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant, was relatively quiet for a Saturday lunch. The food was beautifully presented and tasty, portions quite small but did not leave feeling hungry. Service very professional and attentive.
Great food and service
A must 'see and eat' restaurant in London. Unbelievable cooking , immaculately presented in a restaurant which offers courteous & friendly service without being overbearing. This is a paradise for foodies. It is expensive but worth saving up for !
After the meal take a stroll up the nearby park to see the city lights light up the skyline - a splendid way to end an unforgettable evening.
