    We had good service even with arriving at a busy time. The crab cake was delicious, as usual. We ordered the swordfish special, which was prepared well as the fish was tender, but disappointing as the dish overall was bland.

    Our drink order was incorrect twice. Once is a problem; twice is unconscionable in a fine restaurant. The drink order was handed off to helpers twice and they were clearly not well-trained. In addition, it took more than 30 minutes for the two of us to get the correct drinks. My husband loved his mushroom ravoli; my trout was well prepared and was to have a mushroom sauce but there was very little of it. As a result, it was dry. The overall experience was a disappointment. We love seafood restaurants and had planned to return for brunch the next day with friends. We went elsewhere.

    We had a wonderful evening here. Perfect location with the Clayton Art Fair going on all around us. The restaurant was busy but our server Avery did a good job for us. Our food was delicious! Oceano has been around a long time and it’s always good!

    I think their may have been a small issue between some servers as one server greeted me and took my drink order and shortly afterwards another server came and greeted me said they were my server and wanted to take my drink order. When I said someone had already done that they seemed confused. I saw some words exchanged between the two servers shortly afterwards. Apparently it was worked out and the meal and service was fantastic.

    first time. The service was excellent, and the people were very nice management was very attentive. The entrées were good. The salads were very good. The appetizer of calamari was tough, but other than that it was a very nice meal we will be returning.

    Got seated great greeter. Melissa great server and made great suggestions for food and drink. She helped me pick a drink not on the menu and it was delicious. The food was great and we loved it. Parking easy. Thanks great date.

    Absolutely amazing brunch experience at Oceano Bistro. Our first time and it will definitely not be the last. Delicious food at an extremely reasonable price and tremendous service from Sherry. We had a half dozen blue point oysters, the crab cake eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, and old fashioned and mimosas. All of the food was incredible! The staff in its entirety was excellent and all in all a really good time. The manager/owner stopped by before we finished our meal to ask how everything was and it was truly a testament to how this restaurant is run. Absolutely looking forward to our next meal at Oceano Bistro.

    I made a 9:30pm reservation. I arrived at the restaurant on time to find the doors locked. There was still staff inside having drinks and talking. The posted closing time for the restaurant was 10pm. Obviously the restaurant decided to close early. I find this to be incredibly unprofessional. You should adhere to your own opening hours. Particularly when you have a patron with a reservation. Completely unprofessional.

    Went to Oceano for date night. The food was great as always and the server was terrific. Only downside was a large party that was somewhat loud, but had nothing to do with the restaurant.

    Food and service was outstanding. The decor and ambiance of the space is a bit tired and dated but I can say the same for their competition across the street (Herbie’s) our table was close to the front and the music was loud enough to make our business lunch a little difficult

    We dined at Oceano Bistro for our 42nd wedding anniversary and loved it. Service, from Edward, was quick, attentive and excellent. He made great suggestions for our meal. We had fried calamari, a special pasta dish with shrimp, and the tuna entree. All were delicious. If you're looking for great seafood in the heart of St. Louis, this is a great place to go. We'll definitely be back.

    Waitress very inattentive—forgot my date’s request for butter with the bread, waited on a larger for ten minutes instead of bringing us our check….food was phenomenal! Very fresh seafood, excellent wine, and romantic ambience. Only complaint was the service was super slow.

    They ran out of the specials. They didn't have hot sauce for the oysters. Our waiter challenged me on my drink order. In addition we believe he was drunk. He screwed up our bill and over charged us $40. We didn't even stay for our entrees, we just left. 0/10. Horrible experience will never go back.

    Restaurant week and saw it on the participating restaurants. We are a bit new to the area and looking for fine dining. We found it! Relaxed atmosphere and not stuffy yet excellent experience. Starting off with the Oceano martini, interesting color but delicious taste. Entrees of trout and sea bass both prepared to perfection. To full to have dessert at the restaurant and took them with us which we expect to be just as good. Will be back.

    I recently dined at Oceano Bistro and found the food to be delicious. However, I was disappointed with the service. Despite informing the greeter that it was my aunt's 88th birthday, we didn't receive the promised slice of cheesecake. The waitstaff seemed inattentive, and it took quite a while for them to take our drink and appetizer orders. Our waiter appeared inexperienced, and it was evident in how he handled stemware and plates. On the other hand, a nearby table received excellent service with two attentive waiters. The restaurant's location and food were great, but they definitely need to work on their service and training to match the dining experience with the memories we had from 10 years ago when our father loved this place. It was disappointing that they ran out of cheesecake, cookies, and cobbler by 8:55, despite closing at 10.
