Excellent dinner on a rainy evening. Very good service and all the food was tasty and locally sourced. Lechon Kawali salad and seared tuna were our favorites and Apple banana spring roll with salt pond gelato was delicious. Happy hour drinks and apps from 4p to 6p. It was very loud with all the doors closed.
We were celebrating with a birthday dinner for my husband. It was just he and I. We had a lovely table outside with an ocean view. The restaurant was not busy.
Considering that I had mentioned that it was my husband’s birthday little else was done beyond the hostess wishing him a Happy Birthday.
He ordered clams that were served with 2 of them unopened. When we made our server aware (which she didn’t clue into) she took them back and they made another 2 to replace the bad ones. That meant that when his main arrived it had been sitting under the lights way too long and the fish was overcooked.
The ambience was very nice but overall we were disappointed with the experience. The best thing was we could walk to the restaurant.
We were here for breakfast. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the ocean view was amazing.
Great food .. great atmosphere...
We chose Oasis on the Beach for dinner our first night at Waipouli Beach Resort. We were seated exactly at our reservation time. Unfortunately it was very windy outside and after sunset, so the atmosphere wasn’t quite what we hoped for. But the food and service were excellent. Main course options (curry, short ribs and lamb meatballs) and shared appetizer (pork wontons) were very tasty. We enjoyed dinner so much that we went back for breakfast the next morning and were not disappointed.
We originally went here for happy hour and loved it. So for a special dinner out we decided to go back. We made reservations for 6:45 for a window table and were seated at a nice window table. However, the sliding glass door was open and the wind was blowing quite hard right in my face and directly where my husband was sitting. We asked if the door could please be closed, which the server did. We ordered an appetizer to share - the clams in a golden milk sauce. It was $14.50 and we got 10 butter clams - one of which didn’t have a clam and one that was off - so my husband spat it out. That’s not the chefs fault we understand. But 10 small clams for that price felt like a real rip off. We mentioned the missing clam and the one that was bad to the waitress - who didn’t really seem to care. They did taste good - except for the one thank goodness. During our appetizer the server reopened the door. We again said that it was too windy being right beside the door and asked if the front window could be opened instead, the overhead fan turned on or we could be moved. She said that other guests asked to have window open - were we not also paying guests? She said she would see if she could move us. In the meantime our dinner came. She asked if we would like to move now! No! So we began eating our dinner and we believe the Manager came over and asked if everything was ok. My husband said “not really” and explained the door situation. My husband said why can’t you just turn on the overhead fan, to which his response was that the overhead fan is just for aesthetics and wouldn’t make a difference. He certainly didn’t make the experience better. Needless to say our evening out left us frustrated that we had to do battle over such an issue. Our dinners were good, but unfortunately our experience was tainted by our treatment of the staff. Oh and by the way, they turned on the overhead fan and everyone seemed comfortable. We enjoyed the nice breeze it created!
Good excellent and great value. Service... Julia was amazing!
Great food, great service and awesome view. Would recommend.
Just 2 girls out for brunch and it was fabulous !
Great food and service!
Some tables with good views We weren’t luck this time. Wonderful staff! Home made Ginger Beer is the best there is.
Beautiful setting right at the edge of the beach - combined with wonderful food as excellent service, a memorable experience.
Great MaiTais in a lovely setting. Loved the bean salad. Friendly, helpful staff
Maybe it was just the cost of the pre-fixed Valentine’s Day menu, but the price was ridiculous. Food was fine, view amazing.
Valentine’s dinner with another couple was somewhat disappointing. The prefix menu had nice selections but the presentation and quality didn’t measure up to the prices. For $89 per person plus $35 for wine pairings we all expected better. The location is outstanding but I’d rather go to Merriman’s or Ruth’s Chris for the price.
Beautiful ocean side tables. Food very tasty & presented beautifully. Overall a great dinner date
It felt like a generic fine dining establishment in a tropical locale. Ok food - for fine dining. Ok ambience. Service for sone reason was slow and inattentive - we had to ask for a high chair 3 times ..
I wouldn’t hesitate to go there. Excellent every which way.
They need to improve the menu selections especially for the price. The ambience of being oceanside is very attractive and the service has always been good.
Great staff, delicious food, lovely view... Would go back any day.
Arrived at 730 pm as per reservation. Very busy and lively. Was told band went over there time and people still enjoying and did not have any tables available for sitting. Standing room only. We had to wait til the place cleared out for our reservation dinner. Which was not til 815pm. Then service was slow. Meal was okay. Would not recommend. Maybe lunch would be ok.
Favorite restaurant in Kauai! Service view and food-all so wonderful

GreT ocean location for dining in Kapaa
Oasis on the Beach has been one of our favorite restaurants since we moved to Kauai over three years ago. We have gone there often, and have taken our visitors there for breakfast and lunch. We have been well-treated and well-served. The food has been consistently good and the service consistently friendly, until now. I made a reservation for lunch last week, and walked in while my husband was running an errand. Arthur took me to a small table. When I noticed that the table he took me to was next to a table set for 6, I asked if there was an available table that would be more quiet. He said, rudely: "Lady, this is a restaurant and it is ALWAYS LOUD!! Then he showed me to a table at the back of the restaurant. I was shocked speechless! Our waiter came ,thankfully, not Arthur, and was friendly, likable and well-trained. He said that "Mr Art" had trained him. I watched Arthur as he moved around the restaurant, and he was business-like and friendly with other patrons. I feel for you if you catch him on a bad day, or happen to ask him a question that he doesn't like.
Oasis is always a surprise. small beach side café. lots of charm. but the surprise is that the food is amazing gourmet quality. perhaps the 2nd best in Kapaa after JO2.
Poor service, poker face when we didnt match her expectations order which give her not enough tips.food very strange don’t order sakura poke ,and no curry dick wing also, very disappoint.
One of the best meals EVER, anywhere. Grilled ahi, the catch of the day, absolutely could not possibly have been any fresher. Accompaniments of puréed kombucha pumpkin and a kind of Asian green bean were also fantastic. Oceanside dining, wonderful server who provided reliable recommendations, and great mai tais. Orange creme brûlée for dessert was also beautifully garnished with a kumquat and delicious, not overly sweet. Perfection!
Excellent experience! The food was so fresh and absolutely delicious. The view was amazing and our server, Siergo was awesome! He was super knowledgeable, efficient and made great menu suggestions.
Oasis was built up to us as being so great so honestly it was a let down.
Prey ok. A little worn down
Let me begin this review with full disclosure—we are from the East Coast and used to Boston and NYC prices so these prices didn’t seem out of range for the quality provided. This is one of the few restaurants that source 85-90% of their ingredients from the island and the freshness shows. We dined on a Wednesday night when there is live music—fantastic music with most patrons there for happy hour, music and appetizers. If you are looking for a quiet dining experience wait for the music to end at 7pm. That said, we were seated outside so the party atmosphere under the roof didn’t bother us at all and the music added to our enjoyment. Now the food: absolutely wonderful. Appetizers included a purple potato soup, pork spring rolls and salads. Everything was fresh, carefully prepared with delicate touches, and flavorful. Love that they had half portions of the entrees. Two of us had seared fish, one had the Japanese pork and one had the beef cut of the day. Again, great flavor but nothing drenched in too much sauce, etc. All the dishes came out at once (great service) which we appreciated. Homemade gelato for dessert (def get the caramel) was perfect. The drinks were exceptional —pineapple martini laced with blackberry syrup (but not sweet!) The Maitais is unique in the addition of something almond... loved it all. I would return here again and in fact our friends did the following night.
Alles super gutes Essen, nette Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend
Henry was our server, he’s very good and professional!
All the food was delicious but luke warm, like it was sitting in kitchen too long to be picked up....
I am officially in love with Winged beans!
