   We had a long wait for our reserved table, but it was nice when we got it. The Branzino was good and was a fair portion. The tri tip was also good, but the portion was tiny for $37. 5 small slices about the size of a half dollar coin. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent tho.

   I wonder if anyone reads the notes included with the reservation. I indicated that my wife and I would be celebrating our 41st anniversary and made a small request but at no point did anyone at the restaurant recognize the celebration or the request. We were just another customer. Beyond that, while the food was good, the menu is limited in choices. Overall, a bit disappointing.

   Great service. Food was excellent. Manuel was short into the point. Dishes specifically seem to be well thought out, seem to have the best ingredients ever. Desserts were also very creative and very good.

   Back at Oak for our wedding anniversary, and it was certainly a memorable experience. As always, the menu was varied and very interesting - certainly far from the usual fare! While the wine list is definitely not cheap, it is extensive and in our opinion very high quality. Although our service was not that great, our meal was extremely well presented, with perfect quantities and a real epicurean delight. As with everything this last couple of years, prices have gone up (considerably) and be warned: there is now a flat 6% "market fee" tacked on to the entire bill. Hence - despite everything - it will be quite a while before we think about returning.

    I haven’t been to Oak in a few years and am very disappointed. This was a business meal with 2 colleagues from out of town. I asked to have some grilled shrimp or chicken on the side of the pasta dish and the kitchen was unable to accommodate due to premeasured portions. While I might understand that, the pasta dish lacked any mushroom flavor and was overall bland as was the kale salad for which they are noted. That used to be SO good and it had no flavor. Did you forget the togarashi. I am in no hurry to go back nor to recommend it.

    This was the most overpriced dinner Ive had in awhile. Apps were great, but main courses did not match the price tag. The service was not great... we had reservations at 8:30 and we're being pushed to leave by 10 with staff clearly annoyed we were still there despite ordering multiple courses and bottles of champagne. Would not go back for what ended up being a nearly $400 bill with a lack luster experience.

    The menu changes so we enjoy trying new items off the menu. This is our 3rd visit so we will be back! Our surprise was being treated to a glass of bubbly as we were celebrating our anniversary - nice touch!

    We had a fabulous dinner and the food was fantastic. My only complaint was that it was oddly cold in the restaurant; my wife ended up wearing her down coat for much of the meal and when we looked around the restaurant we noticed a number of other guests doing the same. That said, it didn't affect our overall experience and we loved the food.

    The drinks and the food was, as usual, excellent. My steak was a bit tough but other than that the rest of the food and the service is some of the best in Boulder. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Visited last year and it was so great. This year when we arrived we asked if we could have a window table to which the hostess said "unfortunately no" even though there were three tables empty, so we were seated next to the bar area where there were people standing and it was so loud. The rest of the evening there were window tables available the whole time! We sat for almost twenty minutes before having to ask one of the suits if we had a server. He took our drink order and a salad order while we waited for our server. Our server, while being efficient, just really lacked even the slightest bit of enthusiasm. The food was very good thankfully as the unorganized mess of service would have stood out even more.

    Loved dinner at Oak! Excellent service (Angel, our server, was delightful, efficient, and knowledgeable), fabulous wines, and mostly excellent food. The crispy rice salad was outstanding, as was the sea bass. We didn’t love the burrata salad— heavy on the Berlotti beans — but the peanut butter cup dessert more than made up for it.

    Oak on 14th never disappoints. The food is great the service is great. We love sitting at the kitchen counter and watching the artists at work! It’s a great way to get to know what all is on the menu too. My only small complaint would be the price of drinks for the size and lack of strength. I’ll return to ordering wine in the future, so no big deal. I tried it. I’ll still be back!

    Overall, Great Time! Food was very good, atmosphere good. But I was seated at the same table twice in a row, and I’m not sure if the beginning wait staff is placed here. Ours was overall good, but a little slow (drinks took 25 minutes to get to us), and when I asked for a Grey Goose martini, he asked if I wanted vermouth in it. The question surprised me so much that I said no. Then, I called him back to say vermouth is part of a martini. He responded that some customers just want the spirit, to which I responded, “but that’s just vodka.” When the martini came, it was all vermouth and maybe a splash of Grey Goose. I had to have him give me a jigger of Grey Goose. He ended up giving us an extra dish, I think to make up for that move free of charge. Everything else was fine. It was a friends’s birthday. Stayed there for three hours and clearly had a good time.

    I have loved Oak since it opened years ago and have booked special occasion dinners there. This was just a casual meal out for us--and our first time back since Covid--but, while the ambience is still great, I was disappointed in the food. The choices for both small plates and dinner entrees was very limited, and the item I chose was not very good. My companions' meals were satisfactory but unexciting. I also could not see the rationale for adding a 6% (non-service) surcharge instead of just raising the menu prices--putting that in small print at the bottom of the menu seems a little misleading. It is understandable that prices have risen in the past 3 years and I am concerned that this tactic is misunderstood to be a gratuity for servers, hence possibly reducing their tips. I will give Oak another chance but I hope there is some improvement in these areas.

    Oak was a great experience. The food was wonderful. My only critique is when we sat down I asked the waitress if they were out of anything, and she said no. When I ordered, she said, “we are out of that.” I wish she had told me that in the first place. I also wish the menu had a few more options. However, everything was delicious and we would definitely go back.

    The food was okay, however, did not seem to be aligned with the price. The dining room was very loud - had to almost shout to be heard across the table. Service was a bit slow to initiate - we sat for a while before getting water.

    We requested a quieter table with our reservation, and were happy where we were seated in the smaller dining room, despite two large parties nearby. The music wasn't too obtrusive. Our selections were all quite tasty; especially notable were the Oak Martini, the roast chicken, and the special asparagus and egg salad side. The service was attentive, but not hovering, and we felt no pressure to "turn the table" even though it was a Friday evening.

    Some restaurants on a random Wednesday may not have their A team working. This is not true at Oak. We had the best meal we have had in months. We started with the crispy rice salad and it was good mix with citrus and spice. The salads were big enough to split. My dad had the endive salad which seemed like a take on wedge salad and it also was tasty. For out main courses we had the sea bass, roasted chicken and the gnocchi. Each dish was perfectly cooked and delicious. We finished with the peanut butter cup dessert and it also was top notch. The wine we enjoyed were well paired with our dishes. Finally service is exemplary. We will definitely be back!
