Great little “sleeper” restaurant for dinner. Food was first class. Cloth table clothes, fresh flowers and wait staff dressed professionally. Always a great place for breakfast and lunch, but equally as good for dinner!
This is the 3rd time we had dinner at Northside and would always rate the experience as good. The last time we had dinner there this past weekend my soup was cold and the Halibut was very dry. It was not a busy night either. Our friends from out of town thought it was just ok. Simple meals should be delicious.
This was our first time trying Northside Kitchen - we've been enjoying burgers next door for years and decided to make NK part of my husband's birthday vacation this year. Overall we enjoyed our food but our server did make the experience less enjoyable. When he arrived at our table, he did not tell us about the specials or ask us if we had been in before but instead asked us if we were ready to order. He seemed to rush us through our nice night out. I did enjoy the salmon but my husband's medium filet came out rare and when we sent it back it came back medium rare. Our server never came back to ask if it was better the second time but simply brought the check. Normally we would have called over a manager but since we were celebrating we decided to just cut our losses and keep the mood light. For a $100 meal, this experience was a bit of a let down. We will try it again but it will be awhile.
Food flavors were very good but could have been served hotter, especially the soups. The waitress was very friendly and courteous. Unique mix of casual atmosphere yet higher end dining.
Food and service were excellent. I liked that you had a choice of a 6 oz glass or a 9 oz glass of wine and they had a great variety of wine available by the glass and their bottle prices were very moderately priced.
This was our 2nd time dining at Northside Kitchen. Liked my meal better the first time and the service too. Suggestion to Northside, it was extremely cold in the restaurant both times. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket.
Went for their prix-fixe menu, great value and the food was awesome. Great service and diverse wine list.
this restaurant wa s a big surprise. Dinners are 39.95for a three course meal with a few upgrades. this was a great deal for the money. Many choices for pleasure who do not eat meal. the portions were good size.the halibut was outstanding and a huge portion. The lamb shank was a C+. Order the pork chop instead. Typical of Colorado restaurants the wine list was B- and overpriced . In a state that does allow you to bring wine in you usually gat taken with price. All in all would go back tomorrow.
Wonderful comfort food and excellent friendly service.
The room was a little noisy this visit but the halibut was excellent as usual
THE place for breakfast all day. Great at night for 3 coursemeal with prime rib.
Great value for the 3-course meal. Delicious food. Consistently good.
Found Northside Kitchen on open table. We've had places in Vail area for the past 10 years, but we had never been here before. The reviews were great so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent, brought timely, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We took advantage of their 3 course special. Both of us had the caesar salad. I had the pistachio encrusted lamb chops, and my husband had the lamb shank. Portions were very generous so we had leftovers to take home. Yum!! Great wine list as well. Both of us had desert. Very enjoyable evening.
The lamb chops are excellent!! The trout is excellent!!! We will certainly return!!!!!
This place never disappoints. The food is amazing as well as the value. Evening service is great.
Love Northside Kitchen. We go there for breakfast, donuts and coffee, and evening 3 course dinners when they pull the white linen table cloths out. Food is outstanding and servers are friendly, knowledgeable and very good.
This was our second meal at Northside. The staff is truly hospital—they make dining out so enjoyable! I like be food preparations that are special and there are many options that are prepared quite well. They do have a kids menu and a brief list of well balanced seasonal cocktails. You will not regret choosing Northside!
Halibut was excellent. Filet was good but not great.
Love this place
Everything was great. Thank you!
Jim your are the Best!!
A great neighborhood gem
Great restaurant. Food was delicious and the service was very professional. We would definitely go back.
We enjoyed our total experience. The waiter (Harry) was knowledgeable, personable and remembered each of our requests. The food was fabulous. We happened in on the special, but we will plan to return even without the special pricing.
The food is consistently good. Great menu choices. Service is always friendly
We ordered prime rib medium rare and it came almost raw. Sent it back twice and it still wasn’t done enough. It was also very tough.
Good food but ran out of key lime pie. :(
Trout and halibut were excellent
Took the family to Northside Kitchen while on vacation. Had a fantastic dining experience - food was great(had the tuna tartare, Filet mignon and tiramisu for $40 total! Also had a couple glasses of wine - they have a great wine selection; 50 different types of wine available both as a taste and by the glass
Best meal and best deal in Eagle County. Three course fixed price meal is amazing!
We were surprised at the interior compared to the outside "coffee shop" appearance. How many times have we driven by and thought "coffee house". We were celebrating a friends birthday, who was then going on to a concert so it was a great rendezvous location . We were early diners. There was very loud and rock out music and we were unable to make our point that we'd really like it to be turned down. The music did not fit the ambiance. It really is a pleasant dining atmosphere otherwise. Our food was also a surprise. Very nice. Everything was special, but the tuna tartare was the big hit with all of us. The wine list was exciting and so were the by the glass prices. But I guess, nice to have options.
We will go back.
Disappointed in food quality...they ended up comping the trout that was dry and encased in 1/2 “ of grated potato. Other diners with me thought their meal was fair at best. Waitstaff were great. Mainly disappointed because breakfast is soooo good and the burger place across I70 is great .
Our server was great, but the food was very mediocre, so we will not go again.
The food was good as usual. The servers while pleasant were clueless and need TRAINING. Finally how does any restaurant not have any vanilla or other ice cream for dessert?
Great food, value, and a hidden gem. Wine list is fairly priced and not a ripoff like most Vail Valley restaurants.
Great food, outstanding service. Have to go, if you are in town
Great ambiance. Love the white table cloths and the server dress code
Great dinner for Mother's Day. Liked that fact that the meals were 1/2 price.
Saw glowing reviews and we were looking forward to a nice dinner here.... BUT found it located next to and across from gas stations and close to a busy access road. First seated at a cramped space very close to a family in midst of their meal, despite seberal other tables being open (and most did not fill the remainder of the evening); had to ask to be reseated, and did not happen readily. These tables were in a screened in porch overlooking the very noisy road. Did not get explanation of the night's specials until we asked. French onion soup was tasteless and winter greens salad wilted and like the dressing had been applied hours before. Shrimp were overcooked and rubbery with unremarkable angel hair pasta. The fried chicken also overcooked with bland and thick crust; I only ate a small portion, and the same for overcooked and greasy potatoes and awful brussel sprouts. Should have followed my first thought about leaving after the poor first impression....
A hidden gem in Avon. Well worth the effort to find.
