North Italia – BLVD
This was the worst evening for a long time. Table for 6. Our server was really disorganized. He told us the specials of the day, one being zucchini soup with Parma. 3 members of our group ordered that. When the appetizers were brought out the soup was lentil soup!!! We asked where the zucchini soup was and he said there wasn’t any so it was lentil! Hmmmmm. Surely to advise of this before bringing it to the table would have been appropriate. So 2 of the 3 soups were brought out along with the other dishes. Nearly 10 minutes later we were still sat waiting for the soup and all the entrees arrived. Then the soup came out. So we were sat with all the appetizers on the table and the staff attempting to put entrees down as well. We told them that it was ridiculous to bring them out when one of the appetizers hadn’t been served so we told them to take the food away.
Our server seemed surprised at our request.
The manager did come over and apologize and advise us that they would cook us fresh entrees! ( as if we wanted food that had been kept warm in the kitchen for 15-20 minutes)
Our entrees were all good except the pesto chicken, it was so strong with pesto is was almost inedible. Both dishes of it were hardly touched by our guests.
Our server then came to take our desert order, he asked one person what they wanted then disappeared to get it. He then came back 10 minutes later to get the rest of the order. ( we did get deserts free due to poor service)
Sadly we will not return here as it was a disaster from start to finish.
Very loud but a fun place for drinks and a light shareable supper. Very popular location. Available free parking next to it.
Service is usually good, but exceptionally good today. Waitress was fantastic.
Great food! Great service! I would probably say that it was a big loud for a date otherwise fantastic place to eat!
Had a terrific meal -- all the pastas we had were spot-on. Spare ribs pasta was perfection, as was the delicious (albeit pricey) truffle bread. Very happy with our experience.
Excellent food and superior service; my waiter is one of the best servers at North Italia!
Really excellent food and atmosphere
everything is great but the music doesn't have to be upbeat and offer bread!!!
Great food and service! Very lively for lunch!
The restaurant was very noisy and the tables are crowded together where you invariably are hearing the conversations next to you. Would not go back.
Food was pretty good. Service was really good.
Wonderful food and ambience let down by bored, indifferent waitress.
Everything we ordered tasted delicious. Hands down has to be the best Chicken Parmigiana in the city! The pasta is homemade and everything is fresh. Even the iced tea is wonderful. I've been there for drinks as well, and they are wonderful too. Equally wonderful was the polished service by Daniel Guerra who waited on us. Ask for him, and he will take great care of you. This is at the top of my restaurant favorite list. Thank you North and thank you, Daniel!
The food was excellent
My wife and I enjoyed North Italia. We agreed that the food really good and service was spot on! We are definitely going back soon.
Great happy hour deal (You can't beat a pizza and a bottle of house wine for 20 bucks) and excellent food. They really know how to cook Italian food and pasta in general.
Meatball pizza should always be on the menu!!
Always a great experience. It’s a little loud for business but ask for a table against the wall and it’s manageable!! And worth it.
Absolutely fantastic. Get the chicken pesto.
Great place to dine & meet friends.
Perfect date spot! Outside dining and you can bring your dog - see perfect date spot.
North Italia never disappoints! Everyone's dishes were delightful.
Always a good place for fine dining.
Haven been here many, many times. Went for New Years Eve 'special dinner' for $65/person. Food was good but no different from normal menu. It was not advised that the kitchen closed at 10PM like aways and they turned on the lights at 11PM. They had run out of a number of items by the time we got there for a late dinner. If the restaurant had been up-front about the evening program we would have gone somewhere else that suited our expectations. So, in short, we were disappointed and angry and intend to give North a rest.
This was a very bad day in the office as per their usually very high standard. New Year Eve dinner was way bellow that. Service was only bright spot on that night. Food was ok although we had to return some part of it due to bruschetta being cold and burnt at the same time. They run out of sea-bass by 9 pm so my wife got salmon that was rushed (cold) on plate like everything that night. Then only tiramisu and really horrible ice-cream were available by 10 pm...really weird experience in usually always spot on place. We will be back for sure but never on “special occasions” like this one.
Great as always- the only thing I didn't agree with is that the pri fix meals were much more than the same exact meals on their regular menu. Hard for regulars to feel like they aren't getting ripped off here- but I get it was New Year's Eve. I just think once people buy drinks and champagne (which we did) then you make your money up that way :) Just my 2 cents- food was great!
An excellent dinner for four to share entrees and appetizers. Fun environment.
We are regulars and arrived with a table of twelve right next to where we were seated and they were really loud. In fact, we were told later that they had been there for 5 hours. We were offered the opportunity to move by our waiter and the General Manager Jennifer. They were willing to do anything to lessen the impact of the selfish intrusion on anyone near by. We stayed where we had been originally seated and attrition at the table lessoned the excessive noise. Both Jennifer and our waiter were wonderful and were willing to to anything they had to do to mitigate the problem that was not of their making. My suggestion would to make it mandatory that large parties sit outside. They were scheduled to be outside but with the cold weather they were moved inside. They were nothing but a headache for everyone and a party like that is not well suited for inside.
Our waiter was so good, helpful, and always making sure we were happy. Great service. The food was good but the wine was not the best. I’ve been coming here a long time and that’s the downfall of this place. If you’re a red wine drinker, don’t expect much here. The best of “their selection” is overpriced and they need to get some better red wines on their menu.
Food, table service and ambiance was great!
Only thing to be improved is the welcome at the door. This was done by a seemingly disinterested person where even though I was already inside she didn’t even look up until I asked her if she worked here and then she looked up and took my details.
My fiancé and I tried this place for our anniversary dinner and it was to die for! I’m Italian, so I am very picky about my food, and this was something to brag about! The food is worth what you pay for it, the pasta and cheeses are made in house, their alcoholic beverages were delicious, the atmosphere was spectacular and the service was five star! We will definitely be returning to eat here more often!
Excellent food and superior service
We went there for a Saturday brunch and the food was absolutely delicious. The highlight for us Was the French toast. The service was perfect and we were lucky that we were seated next to the kitchen
It is very loud there so it’s probably not the best place for older parents or grandparents. Additionally, we had a reservation and still had to wait 10 minutes for our table. It’s a popular place!
The food was great! However, portion size of pastas are that of a lunch portion!
We really like this place. Food quality is always good and we like the lively atmosphere, although the noise level at peak times can be over the top. The roasted salmon with white beans is awesome as are the scallops.
Food is amazing and the staff are super lovely. Highly recommended 😍
it was very busy for a tuesday night but not all tables were full. service was very slow - they needed more waiters to take care of things. our appetizer came out 20 minutes after our salads. the wine came out after we were done wiht the salads. timing was just off. food is very good - just wish we had better service experiences at north.
Amazing food.....the truffle garlic bread was great as was the bolognese and strozzapetti (not sure of spelling). The chef came to the table and talked to us a bit and sent us a free order of the donut holes. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Always a wonderful dining experience! Your staff is professional and friendly. Food consistently delicious!
Birthday celebration, restaurant was good but the music way too loud. We asked to have it turned down which they did comply however with the high ceilings it’s very difficult to have a conversation.
