NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s casual eatery in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef’s food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA was renovated in 2017 and is now open daily at 11:30 am serving one menu for lunch and dinner.

Everything we put in our mouths was delicious - corn bread and collard greens in particular was amazing. However, we were seated in the bar next to a loud group of women on a wild girls weekend, and the waitstaff was either incompetent or simply couldn’t be bothered. We waited 30 minutes for food between appetizers and mains and had 2 dishes (salad and gumbo) plus 1 drink that never arrived. We look forward to going back and redeeming this restaurant, but won’t let the host seat us in the bar ever again.

It was super loud and the service wasn’t great. The food choices were not great and the food itself wasn’t great

This was for a business lunch. We had meetings afterward, so wanted to keep it light. A couple of appetizers shared and an entree salad worked well for me. Plenty of options of different sizes, flavor profiles, and costs. Everything was very very good. Service was friendly and reasonably attentive. Could've been a little quicker, but we weren't late for anything, so I guess they paced it well. Definitely recommend.

Fast visit to NOLA the city, time for 1 dinner. Never got to NOLA on other visits and it was convenient. So why not? Heard it was a touristy place. Turned out to be full of loud, happy locals. Very full, very loud, very happy. We were soon happy too. The stuffed chicken wings did it. And the gumbo. And the tuna in an amazing salad. And everything else we ate. Except for Emeril's fried chicken--over fabulous sweet potatoes, yes, but boneless breasts? Really? The doberge cake lovely. The servers are a treat, efficient, not over friendly but enough for feeling very welcome. And they support each other in a given area-- weird but really nice.

We were two couples visiting New Orleans and giving NOLA a try. We got what we expected from a well known chef's restaurant. Great food, service and setting. Nice selection of entrees. Thanks.

I know this is supposed to be a food review, but when you experience awful service, something needs to be said. Stopped in for lunch while in New Orleans. The food was still excellent, but the service was as bad as I ever had anywhere ever. We had a reservation, there was 3 other tables of patrons and a few at the bar. Walked in, no "hello" "can I help you" or anything like that. The guy just looked up and we had to initiate the conversation They sat us, we waited 5 minutes for the server to come to the table withe menus. She gave us the menus, poured water, didn't take a drink order and then 10 mins later we had to ask someone to get her. Sorry but 15 minutes with no drink in an empty restaurant IS a long time We placed our food order and ordered iced tea. Another server poured us water a few times, we said "thank you" every time and she never once said "you're welcome" or anything. The food was delivered eventually, barbecue shrimp and gumbo are truly excellent, but only 3 shrimp on slice of bread. I never got the iced tea, had to ask for a dessert menu, was charged for the iced tea and then just left in disgust. And I still tipped 15%, not sure why, but Emeril, you need to know your NOLA is in shambles.

Don’t waste your time. Average food. Not emeril’s standard.

Excellent Louisiana modern cuisine at very reasonable prices for the French Quarter. The oyster Brie pot pie with bone marrow was particularly memorable.
