Nobu Los Angeles opened in the spring of 2008 and was designed by world renowned architect David Rockwell in the famed L'Orangerie space on La Cienega Boulevard. The menu features chef owner Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes such as the Toro Tartar with Caviar, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, and Black Cod Miso. Nobu Los Angeles also offers local specials like Wagyu Tacos, Seabass Jalapeno Miso and Kanpachi Sashimi with Baby Artichoke and Yuzu Dressing.

First time at Nobu and the service was just brilliant ! Our waiter recommended us a lot of dishes as I’m from the UK and everything was so different here didn’t have a clue what was on the menu. Food was lovely, definitely worth checking out !

Everything was delicious. Waiter terrific. He made suggestions for a sushi eater and non eater. Everything —lobster taco,shashimi, wavy beef, sea bass, crab and shrimp tempura, banana dessert and bread pudding all perfect.Only problem- very expensive. But it was a great special experience. Loved it.

Overall superb food and service. Dante was our server and he was delightful. He suggested perfect dishes and combinations and his service was flawless. Nobu is expensive but you get what you pay for. Fantastic experience.

The food at Nobu is extraordinary - it's so good. My only issue was with our server. He was a nice guy, competent but he assumed we wanted him to order for us. I want recommendations not what my server thinks I want.

Came here for the first time with my girlfriends for my birthday and had a great experience. We originally ordered three tasting menus but the server had told us since it was our first time she recommended doing a family style type of tasting menu for us. We trusted her and had her choose all of our dishes and it was great! The one thing I wouldn’t order is their fried shrimp tempura thing. It was really heavy and very generic. Star of the night was the black cod miso!

The food didn’t seem up to the standard of other Nobu restaurants, our table was late and we had just started eating when the staff informed us the kitchen would be closing soon so would need to order everything immediately, and also order dessert before we had finished eating mains. The staff tried to make us pay for a bar tab that wasn’t ours and got annoyed with us when we insisted we didn’t have those drinks.

Awesome! Celebrated NYE & daughter’s bday - yellowtail sashimi w jalapeño in yuzu sauce, sashimi salad, rock shrimp tempura and a couple of rolls. Delicious! Great service! Amazing food! Fun night!

We waited for table even though we had reservations. Our servers changed staff mid meal. Second server rude. My entree was finished by the time my daughters came. We were rushed through our meal w servers constantly picking up plates when we weren't finished. Dessert menu poor. However sushi sashimi entrees drinks very good especially. Salt and pepper squid and gyoza.

The service and management very condescending, luck of professionalism. Manager (Darren) needs training how to accommodate guest.

We have previous experiences in many countries being a fan of Nobu and was highly disappointed, I felt like seating on an expensive fast food environment and food.

I will avoid what has become an impersonal experience.

I come from Vancouver: the land of delicious fresh sushi, tapas, and izakaya so my preferences may be skewed. Nobu offers a fantastic dining ambiance and unique flavour in their signature dishes. However, there is nothing in its offering that would give it the liberty to stand out.

The Yellowtail Jalapeno, advertised by the server as a signature dish, delivered a strong and umami dressing for the otherwise dry and mediocre yellowtail otoro. The Black Cod Miso was gently cooked and smooth, but overtly salty to taste. The Nigiri assortment (uni, scallop, salmon, bluefin), though well-delivered, pales in comparison to even the most modest of aburi selections from street-corner omakase in Vancouver. The wagyu beef and wagyu beef tacos were refreshing takes on an otherwise mainstream selection, but lacked the luster to justify its inflated price per ounce.

Overall, the food may be considered decent. Perhaps even top-notch by California standards. However, if you're visiting from out of town or prefer a finer selection of specially crafted seafood to fulfill your refined tastebuds, you're better off spending your money on a personal chef visit (probably for less money). Or perhaps fly to Vancouver to enjoy some truly world-class omakase.

Nobu definitely lives up to its name. The environment was very ambient and had an intimate feel to it. It was our anniversary and I would say I was very impressed with the service and food quality!

Absolutely amazing dinner. By far the freshest most delicious meal I have had in a long time. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loved it. We ended up going with a few items that our server recommended and they were all great. Try the snapper with sabatino truffle dry miso and the yellowtail with jalapeno, soooo good. Definitely pricey but you get what you pay for and its worth every penny.

I would totally recommend this place if you would like to impress that special someone. I will be coming back!

Went for my birthday, it was a great experience. The server was knowledgeable and with our input, designed our meal. The Black cod was absolutely the best thing on the menu, and My aversion to sea scallops may have been lifted. Be ready to spend over $100 for per person to eat a full meal, more with drinks.

Been to a few Nobu locations before. Both in New York, Miami and DC. This was the first time going to Nobu Los Angeles and it fantastic as I expected. Bluefin Toro is a go to
