I recognize the struggle of restaurants during the pandemic. We had not been out since last March with the exception of a very quick business dinner/meeting on the patio in June at W.A. Frost.
We have only recently (in the past few years) been coming to the Nicollet Island Inn, but I would have to say tonight was one of the more lovely experiences.
I do hope your business increases soon though, because we want you to thrive!
What a great hidden gem inside our city. One of the few places with a view. Professional staff all around and great food served with nice touches.
Food was excellent! One of the best restaurants in Minneapolis
We were there for restaurant week. We were hoping for a creative meal to be offered, especially since this was our first time at Nicollet Island Inn. Unfortunately there were no great selections offered with restaurant week. The ambiance was good, but the food was pedestrian. Not a great experience to remember. Disappointing.
Riggatoni was excellent. The bread services was not good...scorched and cold, but everything else was great! We'll be back.
The place is amazing. The hotel itself is really cool with an upscale feel without being pretensious. The service was outstanding; everyone was very chill, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The drinks and food were absolutely amazing. We had a great time for our Valentine's dinner and hope to be back and see them again when we're in the cities.
Another wonderful dining experience at the Nicollet Island Inn restaurant. From the food to the team to the pleasant environment we all had a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to everyone who made the evening enjoyable.
Excellent food and Mississippi River location. The prices are memorable, too, but for a special event, it's worth it.
We hadn't been here in years and took my wife there for Valentine's Day brunch. She had the french toast and I had the Steak & Lobster Benedict. We both enjoyed our food and it has such an old school charm to the place. What really caught our attention was the drink menu. I ordered a Drake Manhattan which had Bourbon and a twany port. I love both of those but never had them together. The bartender Brad walked by our table and asked what I thought. I said it was delish and after chatting with him for a few minutes and learning how much knowledge he had, we decided to stop by the bar for an after brunch drink. I think my wife had the Isalnd something and I had the hot buttered rum drink, which was to die for. And we were both blown away by the amount of thought and effort that went into all of their speciality cocktails. We will be heading back again soon to try some others. Need to figure out what nights Brad works!
Highly recommend the French toast. Delicious!
Absolutely love this restaurant and location. Amazing food, staff and service. An absolute go to for a romantic evening.
Valentine's Day with our Daughter.
Nicollet Island Inn understands that it’s the little extra touches that make it a top-notch experience. Cam, our server, took great care of us. When our order took just slightly longer than he anticipated, he not only stopped by to tell us, he brought two glasses of champagne. We had a great corner booth with a beautiful view, and the food was excellent. Thank you!
This is a fantastic venue and a perfect place to create special memories with friends and family.
Food was delectable and service was impeccable. We were delighted with the experience!
Wonderful dinner with a friend. We shared the duck and lamb chops. Both were cooked perfectly and very delicious. Loved the char on the lamb. We also tried the espresso amaretto cheesecake which beware is not traditional cheesecake. It was like a ice cream scoop with chocolate drizzle. Espresso and amaretto was hard to find. Cheesecake had an odd texture and in all honestly tasted like it had been in a freezer then slightly warmed up. Wouldn’t get it again.
Beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious. Ambiance and service beyond compare!
Classic historical setting along the Mississippi! River. We had a table with a view of the white horse carriages giving patrons rides around the beautiful island. Very romantic. Start to finish our meals were excellent. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and timed everything perfectly. We highly recommend for a memorable experience and look forward to another visit soon.
The Nicollet Island Inn has always been one of our favorites for a special meal. The staff is very solicitous and friendly, the food is always perfect, the wine list is extensive, and the ambiance is quiet and attractive. It is also nice for a small group party (maybe after Covid.......). We felt very safe there during Covid.
The food and service were great! I defiantly recommend there Sunday brunch.
The Nicollet Island Inn is a gem in Mpls. Being right on the river, easy access to get there and you can enjoy the view, atmosphere, and wonderful food they offer. We will continue to include Nicollet Island Inn for an evening out, and recommended for friends to stay at when visiting the Twin Cities.
Nicollet Island Inn was terrific! We've dined there before several times, and it's always been an excellent dining experience. We were very happy they were finally able to reopen for inside dining. Thank you Nicollet Island Inn!
This is such a wonderful spot. Was a nice place to have our last pre shut down restaurant meal.
We had a beautiful time on 11/20/20. Even with the statewide looming restaurant lockdown starting the next day, all of the staff was incredibly friendly and fun and professional and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the Nicollet Island Inn for any day of the week. You won’t regret it!
We had a lovely dinner, the food was excellent ! Our server Rebecca was top notch. Such a romantic setting, we really enjoyed it.
Last day of patio dining on November 7th. Awesome. Thx
Dependably very good food, even through Covid. We dine here at least once a month because we know the kitchen will always deliver high quality, well prepared food. ....wish the drinks were a bit stronger- they always seem to be a little weak. We like to have one good “sipper” when we dine out.
Great for casual dining or family gatherings. Nic burger is fabulous in the bar or in the dining room.
Great place with great food. Quiet and intimate. lol
Went for brunch recently and it is not as I remember. I suspect this is due to covid 19. The menu isn't the same. So, I was disappointed. Although the food we had was good and the service too. I will say the furnishings, flooring could use some updating.
The meal was fantastic and the service impeccable! Definitely my favorite restaurant in Downtown Minneapolis!
Always a favorite - Nicollet Island Inn hit it out of the park again. Had a very enjoyable, leisurely dinner to celebrate my birthday. The Bobby Burns post-dinner cocktail was spectacular and may be my new favorite.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. You can’t beat the ambiance, it’s on the Mississippi River, has a gorgeous dining area with crystal chandeliers, etc.
The food is always exquisite, our table had sea bass and scallops and both were fantastic. We’ve dined there many times before and always had a great meal. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to have a memorable dining experience.
Gorgeous, historic building. Consistently excellent food. Beautiful views from dining room. Attentive service.
The staff were wonderful! We celebrated a birthday and stayed the night in the hotel! The food was excellent, the staff attentive. Everything was very clean and they took their COVID procedures seriously!
We had Sunday brunch in covid times. We were there at opening 9a. Only one Wait staff-I totally get that. He worked very hard. So a bit of a wait, but we liked that. Coffee (me) & hot chocolate (Better half) were really good. I like good coffee and it was delicious. Eggs were small but yum. Bacon outstanding. Toast/jam good. The hash browns were perfection-buttery, light and crisp around the edges. By 10a the full staff was there. Highly recommend.
Great ambiance. Excellent service. Need an escape from the crazy world ?stop in to the NII. Have loved this place since 1985!
Nic’s burger and fries were phenomenal! Will be going back soon.
An amazing venue. The food was wonderful. You have to try the shrimp cocktail app! Very impressed of the staff through out the hotel, restaurant and bar. So close to home, but we felt like we were worlds away,
