Nick’s is an amazing seafood restaurant with an incredible view of the sunset. Whenever we are in Maui, we make it a regular stop. The market catch done Picatta style was fantastic. My kids enjoyed the Scallop and Pork Belly Adobo and the Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi.
The service was outstanding. They were very attentive to our needs and actually inquired if this was a special occasion. They provided us with a complementary dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Surprisingly, Nick’s has an excellent vegetarian dish. I went there so my husband could eat seafood, which he said was outstanding, and I expected to have a lousy meal as a vegetarian. Instead, the one veg dish- the vegetarian cannelloni was wonderful! The ambiance was great and service was good too.
The service was amazing but the food was average for the price point.
I'm sure the entire staff is awesome but Beau was our Captain and he and his whole team we're fantastic. Food was incredible (Opakapaka and salmon) with flaming strawberry dessert.
We were very disappointed with dinner. First, we show up for our reservation and they weren’t able to find it. Once that was quickly resolved, we were placed at a table that was located in an unpleasant corner immediately upon entering the restaurant where there was heavy traffic from customers entering and people walking by on the walkway. Our server was great in that he took immediate action to move us when we asked. After being relocated, our orders were taken, etc. Dinner arrived and was ok. Through the entire dinner, no one offered to refill our water glasses, which were empty very early on and our empty appetizer plates were still lingering on the table well through the main course. I’m not one to right reviews very often, but I felt that this experience warranted one, especially given the prices at this establishment. Last side note, there was a faint smell of trash wafting up to us while we were eating dinner. All in all, this was a disappointing last night eating out in Maui. I don’t recommend this restaurant.
Fortunate to have eaten here many times and Nicks never disappoints us. This was for our 49th anniversary dinner and everyone involved made the night very special.
Still one of our favorites on Maui - found this at our most recent trip to Maui, and visited it again in May 2018. The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent, and worth a visit.
Excellent food and beautiful view
Nick had great food - we ended up coming back twice in a visit to Maui of 5 days.. Oysters were great and prepared with ahi in a way I have not had before and was excellent (no horseradish and sauce). They also had OPAKAPAKA which is my wife's favorite fish. My Ahi steak was prepared perfectly seared and very raw.
The Creme Brulee and cheesecake were delicious.
When it comes to fine dining on Maui there is no better place. Five Star service, creative cuisine, fresh ingredients, romantic outdoor dining and a very extensive wine list. Living on Maui has given us the opportunity to dine everyone and Nick's is at the top of our list. Thank you for another amazing evening.
Visit Nick's every stay in Maui. Service and food is always 5 star. Great table to celebrate our anniversary.
My husband and i had dinner at Nick's when we were staying at a nearby resort and wanted a change. It did not disappoint! The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. The best meal of our vacation!
The food was terrible with an edible the fish smell fishy everything about it was not the way you expected to be in it fine restaurant the service they try the kitchen was sending out bad food
We were a table of eight friends on vacation. Outstanding service and fablious food. Defiantly will return here on next Maui vacation!
Best service in Maui! Water glasses always filled. Attention to every detail. If you want a special night out, this is the place! Best place for incredible seafood.
Don't know what happened with Nick's, but we were disappointed with our dining experience. We requested our favorite table area and server, Beau. But we were told the table was not available. It stayed vacant throughout our entire meal. The calamari used to be our favorite, but was less than stellar. The caesar salad was different from what they used to serve, missing the anchovy and citrus flavors. We missed not having Beau since he is always so attentive and full of Aloha!
We had made a reservation with Nicks a few weeks ago, when we arrived, we were only offered seating in the noisy and hot bar area, we requested regular seating outside and were told all tables were taken. The hostess was very unresponsive and uncaring to our needs and did not offer any options that would meet our needs and did not care that we were 20 year customers and was fine with us walking away. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that would be happy to take our money with better food, unfortunately Nicks is no longer one of them and we will not be returning.
Lovely vacation dinner. Great fish and good calamari. Not crazy about team second approach.
wonderful food, great little cozy place, fantastic staff
Absolutely wonderful! Great service & gr at food. A bit pricy but worth it.
The food was excellent. The service was highly "choreographed" and thus felt quite rushed. Not a wide selection of gluten-free options which did surprise us a bit since the menu is focused on fish. (GF is important to us, but not to most - we understand).
We enjoyed the evening. Everybody had a different meal and they were all terrific. We will be back as we live nearby.
Sadly our wonderful memories of Nick’s from years prior did not live up to our experience this time around. We came for our parents 40th wedding anniversary but the service and experience was extremely poor. The wait staff provided little to no help with drink and food suggestions. It seemed as those were bothering them with the few questions we had - the only saving grace was catch of the day. Needless to say we were very unhappy with our experience this evening.
The service was excellent, the food pretty tasty, and a great location. Great way to spend an Anniversary!!! They brought us a complimentary dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate, very nice!
We always go to nicks when we visit Maui the food was good but not as high of quality as in the past
Our experience with Nick's started out rough -- the hostess that night was a witch the moment we walked up (to a less than half-filled restaurant). She didn't even greet us or look us in the eye. We were seated on the patio by ourselves (in the middle of a rain storm), and we had to ask our server to be reseated so we didn't get wet (which he graciously did). Thankfully, the wait staff was on point the rest of the night. A big shout out to the busser -- Corey and the boys -- who were like ninjas with the water pitchers and kept our glasses full the whole night. They're the reason we gave Nick's a 4-Star rating overall. The food was good. Steak and fish were cooked perfectly. But sadly, the hostess really ruined it for us. We won't be back. We'll go to Ko next door instead.
Great service. Great food
Ambiance was special and so pleasant
Best dining on Maui
Limited & pricey menu. Excellent service.
We had an excellent experience at Nick’s Fishmarket for an anniversary dinner celebration! The setting is gorgeous and we were able to watch a beautiful sunset. The food and service were excellent as well. Highly recommend for a special date night out!
Pretty aggravating to get stuck in the back room with all the kids. Hard chairs and all. Pretty average Maui food and odd service. Too many different people checking in on you. Even the water servers get in on the action. Probably worth a pop in if you are staying at the fairmont but I would not drive to it as a destination.
Terrible Service and food was good but service ruined meal
Was a little bit dark in the room
very nice atmosphere. service was adequate, but not what I would expect in a restaurant of this caliber... barely saw our waiter. Bartender had to fill in for first drink order bc he saw us looking around, waiter disappeared and didn't return for about 15 minutes, barely saw him the rest of evening. food was good though.
Service was amazing from beginning to end. The food was incredible.
great food, outstanding service, beautiful location
the pork adobe was outstanding
Food entirely overpriced and lacking flavor. We ordered the special macadamia crusted mahi mahi which was very pricey and were disappointed.
The setting was beautiful but we waited for a long time for every course. Dessert in particular took at least 30 minutes to come out once we ordered. The food was nothing to write home about and we felt not worth the prices we paid. My fish came out severely undercooked and everyone else in our party felt the food was mediocre at best.
