- WWadevipHouston •125 reviews5.0Dined on Sep 22, 2024A wonderful evening, sampling some of Merlion's best appetizers. We love the Mixed Tempura (with shrimp and calamari), the Crab Bisque, and the Softshell Crab. Katie took great care of us at just the right moments. We also received a warm greeting from Bernice, the restaurant manager. (From dining here for many years, we've come to know almost all of the crew at Merlion.) For a main course, I tried the Kao Pad (fried rice) with crab meat, which was absolutely delicious. My Wife opted for the Pad Thai with sirloin, which she also loved, although she said it was a little dry. This was quickly solved by requesting some soy sauce. Make sure to try one of their many varieties of different flavored Martinis, while visiting. For an elegant dinner in the Bay area, Merlion cannot be beat.More infoMerlion RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Thai• Kemah / Seabrook•4.8

Discover Kemah / Seabrook
With Galveston Bay as their backdrop, it's no wonder Kemah and Seabrook, small communities along the Texas Gulf coast, are popular dining destinations. Five seafood markets line Waterfront Drive in Seabrook and feature freshly caught seafood from the bay. Seabrook also offers authentic Mexican food; you're not going to find any cheddar cheese on your plate when eating true Mexican food. Kemah, the “Gateway to the Bay,” is located halfway between Houston and Galveston Island. The Kemah Boardwalk is well known for live music, an aquarium, an amusement park, and great food. Many restaurants on the Kemah Boardwalk are on the waterfront, so visitors can go to a favorite steakhouse, pizza place, seafood restaurant, and even a buffet while also enjoying a view of the Gulf.
