- OTOpenTable DinervipChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 24, 2023Worth the drive! We were hungry and looking for a place with great food and an open table. Luckily, Blue Bear just started their presence on Open Table. We had delicious fancy coffees (highly recommend the bourbon vanilla latte!) and full breakfast/brunch items. We especially enjoyed the short rib hash… Tessa (co-owner) was right! Their chef (co-owner and hubby of Tessa) knows how to prep meat… melt in your mouth! Even the stove-top toasted French bread was perfect to complement our hot breakfasts on a cold morning. We also leaned that they have big plans for an Italian restaurant… look for that opening in April! Like Arnold says so passionately, “We’ll be back!!”More infoBlue Bear Ellison BayPrice: Moderate• American• Ellison Bay•5
- MMurryWisconsin •4 reviews5.0Dined on Oct 27, 2023This was our 4th time at Lure on a Friday night but our first time with a group of 7. The service, food, atmosphere was excellent, just as it was when it was 2 of us or 4. The server was remarkable. Food came quickly, even with 7 of us. The only thing we had to ask for was the tartar sauce but such a minor thing, we didn’t mind. There was a service charge added to our bills (which we wish there wasn’t) so be aware and for large groups the tip is already figured into your bills. We had the perch fry, lobster risotto, walleye, filet and another seafood dish (can’t recall name of it) and all of us loved our entrees. Cocktails were also excellent and the cherry pie can’t be beat!More infoLure (WISCONSIN)Price: Moderate• Seafood• Sister Bay•4.6
Escanaba, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a great place to enjoy some delicious local foods. The waterways and wildlife aren't the only attractions; locally owned restaurants, vineyards and breweries are a big draw. Sample the local award-winning microbrews or explore the region's finest vintages. Abundant delicacies pair well with your beverages.. The pasty, basically a portable beef stew, is a savory, flaky pie that dates back to its mining roots in Cornwall, England. Any dish with freshly caught fish is worth a try too. Other highlights are the jams, jellies, and preserves made from the berries grown nearby. The thimbleberry jam is unique to the area and is a perfect pairing with the hot fresh bread served alongside it in Escanaba cafes and bakeries.
