We were there in between the theater letting out and the new show starting, so our server got slammed. She was very pleasant though, and did her best, and we shouldn’t suffer that much at all. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff made the evening feel special. Our waiter Stefano was phenomenal, attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making our night memorable without ever being intrusive. That kind of service is rare and it elevated the whole experience. The food matched the service every step of the way. Hands down the best steak I’ve had in Minneapolis, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Every course was thoughtful and well executed. Hugo has mostly straightforward Midwestern fare, with a few more exotic places to eat at mixed in. It has several good bistros, including Asian and American fusion that provide an opportunity to build your own burger. These places also often serve samples of local microbrews, large selections of imported beers, and many of the classic standards. The fusion here even includes Vietnamese and French, providing unique dishes you may not have tasted before. The area is also known for some really fantastic fried chicken that is worth having at least once. There are also classic Mexican establishments and good pizza joints. All within a short drive, you can find quite an array of choices to ensure you won't leave disappointed.
