Price: Moderate•Steakhouse•4.8(432)Strip House Speakeasy is located in the space next to the original Strip House in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Set in glamorous backdrop of the Roaring Twenties & Prohibition Era, 11 East 12th Street was one of the thousands of illegal speakeasies supplying NYC with Libations & Liberation. Its hidden connection to the room above - 13 East 12th Street - helped spark its success for when officers arrived with a search warrant in hand, they were only able to gain entrance to the physical address listed - ‘13 East’...not ‘11’.

French varietals dominate the offerings, but the selection includes a healthy mix of other regions and grapes (Austria, Italy, and even Turkey make appearances). There are daily pocket-friendly specials, and each pour comes with a little extra in a fancy carafe. The wine-friendly food menu includes an impressive choice of cheeses and small plates ranging from Mediterranean dips, salads and a delectable choice of chocolates for dessert. Vibe-wise, the ultra-dim lighting ensures the place stays rife with snuggly couples as well as groups of friends looking for an enjoyable night out.

- HHalSan Francisco Bay Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFrom the outside it looked z as bandied and we were early for a 12:15 lunch. But certainly not inside. The wait staff was very attentive throughout our meal. We had stuffed artichoke and tuna tartare as shared appetizers and we shared a turkey burger and fries. Lastly we had cherry pie. We left nothing. All was delicious and we look forward to returning for dinner or who knows what. Excellent!!More infoABC KitchenPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Gramercy Park•4.6
