Parking was close to the door. we were graciously shown to our table and our waitress arrived within two or three minutes. My wife ordered a fillet. I ordered a ribeye. My wife’s steak was undercooked based on her request and required being sent back. Other than that the food was delicious and the salad was exceptional. The manager made an adjustment to our meal due to the cooking issue and treated us to a dessert. it was a pleasant and enjoyable, dining experience.

This is where you have to eat when visiting the Bardstown distilleries. Everything was delicious, and the distillery is stunning too.

My husband and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Toogie's Table. We started at the bar with drinks. The bartender was very personal and really knowledgeable about the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly but very busy, so it was hard to get refills (literally my only complaint). The food was amazing. Could cut the filet with a butter knife. We cant wait to go back.

A fun spot for Valentines dinner with my hubby. They have captured the Cuban history with their decor, music, delicious drink options, and dinner menu. We really enjoyed our evening from beginning to end. I recommend making a reservation which allowed us to be seated right away upon arrival. They have an upstairs dining area as well as their first floor which includes a cool bar area. A padded red leather bench extends the full length of the first floor dinning room against a decorated wall with tables set for 2 to 4 guests that can easily be put together for larger parties. It’s a very fun atmosphere and all of the servers wear a little white straw fedora hat. It was our first time and we will definitely go back again to try some different items on the menu. The pulled pork, yucca, and rice was delicious as well as the garlic shrimp and rice with sweet plantains. Be sure to try the Cuba Colada drink which is their take on a Pina Colada and comes in a cute pineapple glass rimmed with toasted coconut. You definitely need to add La Bodeguita de Mima to your list. I learned this means Momma’s little store. Enjoy!

Discover Bardstown

Bardstown is a quasi-surreptitious suburb about 30 miles southeast of Louisville. This smaller city boasts fewer chain restaurants than its metropolitan northern neighbor, but with that comes the opportunity to visit small-town cafes or to make reservations in one of several elegant eateries seated in Victorian-style houses. In fact, the highlight of dining in this city is the atmosphere in one of these seven dining establishments, which includes an actual dinner train. The Kentucky Hot Brown is a classic dining darling that has maintained its popularity for a century. This delight is an open-faced turkey sandwich that consists of turkey, bacon, and pimientos topped with a delicate Mornay sauce. The sandwich is placed under a broiler to melt the cheese. Some variations have used either a cheese sauce or Hollandaise sauce and omitted the pimientos and been monikered the Hot Brown. It has been said that over 1,200 Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwiches are served each year during the Kentucky Derby!
