Service was good, but steak arrived not cooked to my liking, they redid it. But a little tough and not much taste...
The vegetable curry was amazing, and the bread provided to each table was delicious. We also enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake. My only complaint was that the spinach salad had way too much dressing on it.
Wonderful atmosphere and food. Classy place but dress code was casual. Seance Lounge upstairs was incredible. Only complaint was a rude bartender.
My only complaint other than noise which is an issue in most restaurants these days is it was really cold.
We asked the manager and waitress to turn on a bit of heat and they did solve the problem which we appreciated. WE always enjoy Muriels and will be back with other friends.
The service was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious.
I had a lovely dinner for one and the servers behaved as if I was a high-rolling table of 8. Excellent and attentive service. I cobbled together some appetizers, salad and soups for a meal plus a glass of wine. The gruyere tart was extraordinary. Spinach salad just the antidote to too much booze and late-night fried stuff I needed. The potato-leek soup was perfect. We also had brunch here a couple of days before, and every bite was a delight. You can't go wrong at Muriel's. Beautiful space, wonderful service, delicious food.
Best dinner in New Orleans, and excellent value for the innovative and quality of the whole meal. Wife and I loved the ambiance as well.
Lovely place and wonderful food and service. My only criticism is that they rushed us through as if it were Applebee’s. There was no time for a cocktail before dinner, and we were pushed along the whole time. That is not fine dining. The tables were too crowded together as well.
The food was phenomenal. The goat cheese and crawfish crepes were absolutely delicious. The price fixe meal was a very good deal. Will definitely return.
The food and location were amazing! The service (wait staff specifically) were abrupt and not very polite.
Anniversary brunch. Awesome Bloody Mary. Had the drum and turtle soup, both superb. Best bread pudding in Nawlins for my book. Setting is beautiful, an old house on Jackson square that is allegedly haunted. Love this place!
When we were looking for a place to have a nice dinner I stumbled upon Muriel's. It is in a bit of a "touristy" area so we were a little skeptical but everything was incredible. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Every server we spoke with was helpful and made sure we understood the menu items. They also did a great job making drink recommendations. Overall I would absolutely come here again.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The service was on point. They were extremely attentive with every detail of the dinner. The food itself was also amazing! The 3 course dinner is definitely worth getting. Everything about the place felt authentic to the city. Excellent excellent restaurant
The Porkshop was amazing so was the duck jambalaya. The cheesecake appetizer and the crape apatizers were superb. I dindnt like the turtle soup it had too much Thyme. The boudin desert is a must!
The food and ambience was good. The service was polite. Yet they were trying to get us out of the restaurant. We were in and out in an hour for a three course meal. This inhibited the experience.
The atmosphere and food were wonderful. The service was excellent! A special shout out to one of our servers Cosette! Her personality and helpful information about the city was much appreciated! We will be back next time we’re in town!
Muriel’s is a favorite restaurant of ours. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant each time we are in New Orleans . It is consistently excellent in every category - food, ambience, service. For the first time, we decided to come early and sit at the bar - it was also fantastic! I would highly recommend Muriel’s- you will be extremely happy if you have the good fortune to dine here ;-) ♥️
Excellent service and food. Location in the heart of the French Quarter.
We were there for my daughter’s 13th birthday. The staff was really sweet and made her feel special. Food was outstanding and service was impeccable. Was worried because of location it had potential for a tourist trap, but couldn’t be further from the truth. The mail was extremely pricey so go knowing that you will be paying about $30 plus per entree. This is really a special occasion type restaurant. After dinner our waiter let us go to The seance room and that experience completed the evening. Would definitely go back next time in New Orleans and have something to celebrate
One of the best places to eat. You have to book ahead or you will miss out. Very efficient service and friendly.
Every aspect of our dining experience was fantastic.
Food was great. Service was horrible.
Pricey, but food was very good. I enjoyed the Drum(fish)over spinach. Nice Creme Brulee for dessert.
Excellent food & service. Great location
Loved every bit of it!! Our go-to place for our visitors, for sure!!
Blackened redfish and double cut pork chop were excellent. The goat cheese and crawfish crepes exceeded expectations. Service was slow to get a menu and the check. Atmosphere is lovely right off Jackson square.
Oh My goodness!!!!!! We were unsure of eating here because we felt a little bit under dressed and the price was on the expensive side but we made it work and we are sooo glad we did! The food was amazing!!!! Best Gumbo I've ever had! All of the food was delicious and after we took a small walk upstairs to the balcony and enjoyed overlooking the street below and the small corner of Jackson square.
This was our 40th anniversary dinner, and our third meal at Muriel's on three trips to NOLA. The first two experiences here were excellent, but we were disappointed this time. We both had the baby drum, which I have had previously. But this time there was too little of the great sauce that goes with it, so it was plain and dry. Disappointing. I ordered a dry martini and got one that tasted strongly olive juice - I think the waiter misunderstood when I said I wanted a standard martini, not a dirty martini. The bread pudding was a solid, dense cube, again disappointing. The service and ambiance were good, but for $150 Muriel's could have done better.
Cocktails on balcony was a nice pre-meal experience. The food was excellent!
We enjoyed it all! Thanks for the wedding appetizers!
Food was good as was experience. That said this is more a spot to drop off a tour group than a local new orleans experience. Was more disney than NOLA.
We had a wonderful experience! We were celebrating our engagement and the manager was quick to serve us the champagne my family had called ahead to surprise us with. The food - every bite of it - was amazing.
My husband and I ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. I really enjoyed the Pecan Encrusted Drum. My husband ordered the Shrimp and Grits and found them to be very tasty as well. The goat cheese and crawfish crepe appetizer was lovely. The vanilla bean creme brûlée was excellent! The wait staff was friendly, but did not check in very often to see if we needed anything. The restaurant has an elegant old world feel. Overall an enjoyable meal and we would return on our next visit to New Orleans.
Great food, outstanding ambiance, polite attentive service.
Price was a little over the top, but the food was incredible. Gluten friendly with my wife with celiac. Do the 3 course meal if you can.
First class experience
Everything was excellent at Muriel’s. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Muriel’s for any occasion.
We had been to Muriel’s before and found it so charming that my daughter requested to go back first thing when we went to New Orleans. We were seated at a table that was literally in the middle of the traffic flow. Even though I pushed my chair in to the table so that it was uncomfortable, almost every guest and server hit my chair as they walked by. It was so loud that we resorted to sign language. I was never offered and children’s menu or a cocktail menu. The waitress appeared rushed. I finally went up to the front to ask for the printed ghost story - as it was never offered to us. Even after I told them the table was not working for us, they apologized but did not move us. My 10 year old’s $39 steak (because, no children’s menu!) was deemed “OK.” My shrimp and grits were also OK, a little soupy. Finally, the large, drunk party next to us left but it was still too loud to be heard. We got dessert to go and hightailed it out of there. My daughter didn’t even want to go upstairs to look for the ghost. I have never been to a place where you - nicely- express your issues to the management and they do absolutely NOTHING to address your concerns- not even a comped dessert. HUGE disappointment and a $120 mistake.
We don’t come to NOLA without going to Muriel’s! The two standout dishes from this visit were the appetizer Gorgonzola “cheesecake” with honeyed pecans and green apple, and our bread pudding dessert. Everything in between was really good too!
So delicious!!! Great location!
