Muriel’s Provided the best meal of our trip to New Orleans, Inventive apps, hearty exquisitely prepared entrées, knowledgeable friendly server guided our choices perfectly!
Add to that the professional bar staff, the charming atmosphere and the scrumptious deserts, all made for a perfect night!!!
The only problem was we all ate too much!!!
Great food. Great ambiance. Great staff! I'll definitely go back next time I'm in NOLA.
The service and food was excellent. I wish the “dress code” was enforced!
Very friendly staff. Amazing food! Would recommend this restaurant!
It was amazing! Service was great and food was fabulous! Loved having the Live Jazz - perfect!
Not the best of experiences as we have had in the past but still one my favorite go to places every time I come down usually monthly. Hoping things are in flux and will get back to Muriels of past which I am always happy to recommend
The food was delicious, the service was prompt, and the haunted history was a fun addition to the experience!
Very “Cheesecake Factory”
Wonderful! The property is beautiful and interesting, including the history in the drinks menu. I can’t review this completely because we rushed thru our dinner and had the dessert packed to go, as we were racing to see the Krewe of Boo parade. But they worked with us and we made it. Service was attentive and really special, they do a fantastic job taking care of you.
Appetizers/first courses - Turtle soup was incredible and rich, baby spinach salad was delicious, and the onion tart was wonderfully deeply flavored. Main courses - blackened redfish was very tasty but the stuffing that came with it was just ok, the salmon with the mushroom cream sauce was dreamy, and the shrimp and grits were very good. I ordered the pain perdu bread pudding, but they packed up the creme brûlée. It was very rich and creamy, but not what I had been looking for.
Overall, so glad we finally made it to Muriels, after years of visiting! Highly recommend!
It was a wee bit heavy. Perhaps I shouldn’t have done the pre fixe. Everything was tasty.
Food was pretty decent but nothing to write home about. The waiter was really sweet. Satisfying if you can’t get into any of the more popular places but nothing I would revisit.
The food was AMAZING!! Our server Felicia was superb, friendly and upbeat!! Loved how they spaced out the courses and didn’t rush you. We will be back!!
From beginning to end a wonderful experience. The servers new their food and beverages and were eager to help guide us. The scallop appetizer was the best we have ever had. Highly recommend!
Our business guests were super impressed with the food and ambiance. Would certainly visit again.
We’d arrived a couple of hours earlier for our NOLA vacation and were staggering around the FQ in search of food. We happened upon Muriel’s and to our surprise had one of the best meals of our trip! Drinks, food and service were superb.
Excellent dining and service. The food was spectacular and I highly recommend the three-course menu. The service was friendly and attentive.
Our sever Travis was great, as was the food. But we ordered the suggested wine pairing to go with our meal, and the wine never made it out. We had just written it off as no big deal, but then as we were waiting to pay, a different server brought our wine and got an attitude when we told her that we didn’t want them at this point because we had wanted to enjoy them during our meal, not take them in a to go cup (which she rudely suggested). They then proceeded to charge us for the 2 glasses of wine that were late and we didn’t touch.
Pork chops were not very good. Feels like this restaurant has slipped over the years. Good location & nice interior.
Great waiter. Food was excellent.
The food was excellent (except for the dinner rolls which could use improvement ) I had turtle soup and roast duck with tart cherry sauce! Amazing! Our waiter seemed in a bad mood so that put a damper on things. Overall I would highly recommend 🍽🍷
The food, atmosphere, and service were incredible. I highly recommend visiting if you have the chance.
Absolutely the PERFECT place for a special dinner in the French Quarter. Restored historical house on Jackson Square, balcony with great view for after dinner drinks, its own ghost(s), and delicous food. We came to NOLA to celebrate our anniversary and could not have asked for a better anniversary dinner.
This place is excellent! The wait staff is so friendly & knowledgeable about the history of the area. We loved that each of the dining rooms have the own unique look & decor style. The food is superb! We enjoyed jazz brunch, which was just delightful to listened to while we dined. The bread pudding is an absolute must! We liked it so much, we’re thinking of going back for dinner before our trip ends.
Service and look was great. Dinner was underwhelming but expensive
My wedding anniversary.
Excellent New Orleans cuisine set in a restaurant that not only oozes historical beauty , but takes you back to another time. It's also in the perfect location across the street from Jackson Square. If you're looking for New Orleans ambiance and food Muriel's is a great choice. Enjoy!
Wish I could givemore stars to the staff. People cheerfully greeted us when we walked in and performed the mandatory checks in as pleasant a way as possible. Our two waiters were excellent. You could tell they enjoyed their jobs and took very good care of us though the entire dining experience. Wish they had at least a minimal dress code. I would classify this as a fine dining restaurant for sure. Most people dressed at least somewhat appropriately, but others were absolute pigs. Okay, I understand the location and blocked it out and still had a nice evening. Love the restaurant and again hats off to the staff.
Best meal I’ve ever had. Every dish was perfect, not over the top, well thought out and perfectly prepared. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and all the staff were so kind and polite. Will absolutely be returning
Great food and awesome atmosphere with great service
Excellent meal and wonderful venue. Started with a sazarac and a hurricane (so much better than "off the street!") for cocktails. One of us had the prix fixe dinner selections and I had a la carte. We began our meal with turtle soup (with splash of sherry! so delicious - one of my favorites) and shrimp and goat cheese crepes (delicate flavor, generous portion).
For mains, we had the crispy onion salmon (salmon filet perfectly cooked to medium and topped with an onion panko crust, side of haricot verts and a mushroom cream sauce - hubby loved it) and the roasted half duck (OH my...so yummy and very generous) with haricot verts and rice pilaf. The pilaf was a bit sticky/overcooked but I also had a side of buttermilk mashed potatoes that were heavenly so hubby dispatched the rice with no complaints - LOL. Dessert was a large portion of bread pudding in rum sauce - not too sweet, excellent bread pudding.
Very attentive and personable staff, food was wonderful, and the restaurant was very comfortable and elegant.
Don't miss the sèance lounge upstairs! We took a last drink up to soak in the mystical atmosphere. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends/family!
Wedge salad was beyond expectations with a perfectly delightful Creole cream dressing. Shrimp and grits was delicious and the bread pudding was my favorite of three, the others at Commander's Palace and Galatoire's. Don't miss the seance lounge upstairs!
Food and service were fantastic. Very cool place.
Overall it was a fairly good meal. I liked the turtle soup, and bread. My shrimp and grits were way salty, but my son said they were blackened... so more salty. Ok. He has panko covered salmon with mushroom sauce. He enjoyed it. My husband had the pork chop and said the flavor and texture was perfect.
It's an experience, but I don't know if it'd do it again.
Creme brulee was excellent.
Great location on Jackson Square and the service was top notch. Loved watching the visitors to New Orleans walk by. The Prix Fix menu was a great deal - a very good 3 course dinner for under $50. The salmon crusted with onion was cooked exactly like we requested and the onion tarte was different and excellent. Another great New Orleans restaurant.
Best food we had in Nola for the week! Service was also great.
Best jazz brunch in NOLA! Shrimp and grits are out of this world!
Food and service were great. The atmosphere was a bit disappointing as I thought it was going to be more of a fine dinning type of environment/ experience. The decor was nice but sounded more like a busy sports bar.
Incredible food. Highly recommend scallops appetizer and redfish entree
Food is expensive but very good. Loved the shrimp and goat cheese crepes! Excellent experience.
Very professional but also casual - the waiters were super kind and recommended their favorite dishes and talked with us. The food was divine and the seance room and lounge upstairs was super cool. Overall, an awesome experience! Thanks Beks!
