Mr. B's Bistro
Lunch was great, service was great with out being overbearing. The speckled trout I ordered was excellent.
Gumbo Yaya is a must! It’s amassing. The fresh fish and panned veal were excellent. The warm French bread was wonderful. The service is exceptional. This is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans.
My new favorite Restaurant in NOLA! Service and food were amazing and the host was able to quickly accommodate us even though my reservation was one person short of our party. Cannot wait to get back and have the BBQ shrimp again!
I enjoyed Mr Bs but it’s not over the top outstanding. It’s more of a business lunch DC style type place. Definitely favorite with locals as waiters seemed to know everyone there for years and was recommended by my waiter at GW. Loved the BBQ Shrimp. Desserts could be better.
We really had a good time!
Mr. B's is a bucket list kind of place. Been several times, but it is still on my bucket list.
Really good dining experience, probably our best in the 5 night trip. Highly recommended!
A top five restaurant in New Orleans . Everything great
Bacon wrapped shrimp & grits. I’ll think about this dish everyday. Great food!
Another great brunch at Mister B's. Great food and the best service!
Food was not cold but not warm either.
The over easy eggs were more like scrambled. The grits were cold and lumpy so were left uneaten.
Bloody Mary was in a small glass with way too much ice.
Wait staff were friendly and helpful.
Very expensive for mediocre food.
We will not be returning for any meals here.
Great pre-theatre matinee lunch spot.
Perfect place to make reservations to dine before catching a play at the Saenger Theatre! Had a blast! Food and service excellent!!
Excellent food and service, as always.
Food was cold when served had been sitting ...sauces were bland. Disappointed.
Birthday dinner for my husband. Wonderful experience... they even had balloons at the table for him. Just a beautiful setting and wonderful meal... from duck egg rolls, gumbo, grilled reddish, bread pudding and buttered pecan pie.
Best restaurant for lunch in NO. Great food, professional and friendly service in an upscale atmosphere that is harder and harder to find. A must!
Awesome food and service. One of the top 5 meals ever. Pork belly appetizer awesome. Shrimp entree very good too. This place was recommended by a friend who is from New Orleans. Glad we went. Best to make reservations as the place was packed on a Thursday
Len was terrific. My mom recommended we come here-for the food and the service. Was not disappointed. Next time back in New Orleans, this place will be a must-do again.
Lovely! Fantastic oysters as an appetizer. Grilled fish was delicious! Thank you!
We traveled to N.O. for 2 nights to celebrate our 49th Anniversary and ate at Mr. B's Bistro the 1st night.
The table was ready when we arrived and was nicely appointed.
My wife and I each had the BBQ Shrimp as an entree. She ordered a salad for a starter and I had a cup of
seafood gumbo. Both the starters an entrees were EXCELLENT. The service was above expectations even for a very nice restaurant.
After the meal the waiter brought us a bowl of three scoops of strawberry cream ice cream as a gift for our anniversary.
The entire experience was outstanding and we will go back soon.
The food and service were great at the table. The bar service was slower than I like, but it was crowded. The tables were very close together and since it was packed, the noise volume was very high.
Long time favorite.
Felt rushed by server. Felt that there was more interest in moving us through so they could turn tables faster. Was not offered coffee or dessert following meal. We were offered plastic cups in case we wanted to take our remaining wine with us....implying they wanted us to leave.
Very disappointed as Mr. B’s Bistro came very highly recommended to us. My wife and I were in Nee Orleans for a long weekend and we also ate at Emeril’s and Nola, which were significantly better restaurants than M. B’s.
I would not recommend.
Great food and service by Sara and Robert. Always try to dine here when I’m in town.
Please be advised of wasting neither your time nor money here given how profuse and worthwhile other dining options are around town by comparison.
Sunday jazz brunch. Great music and food.
The food and service were fantastic!
Usually this is a solid bet . Not today. Gumbo was room temperature. Forgot the asparagus with the Eggs Benedict and it came out after we finished eating . My favorite dish , the BBQ shrimp were over cooked so hard to peel .... waitress had the most shrill monotone voice ! It was jarring . We just hurried through our very pricey , just okay brunch and moved on. Disappointed
We went here for Sunday Brunch. Made reservations but it wasn’t full even at 11:00. Service was just a little lacking considering the place was not packed. Little slow. We ordered Duck spring rolls that were good. Shrimp And Grits were not quite what was hoped for, but they might have sat on the warming station for a while. Jazz Singer with his accompaniment were Great!
Dining at Mr. B's is always a treat. We were three couples visiting New Orleans for a few days and I made a reservation at Mr. B's for Saturday dinner. The other couples had never been to Mr. B's and wre looking forward to it. On the ride to the restaurant, I received a text from Open Table saying we had missed our reservation, which was for a half hour earlier than I had thought. My bad. I called the restaurant, explained the situation, and was told by the hostess to come ahead anyway and they would see what they could do - but there was no guarantee that we could be seated without some delay. As it turned out, they were able to configure a new table in the (much quieter) back room and seat us immediately, to my dining partners' great pleasure and my considerable relief. As always, the food and service were superb and we had a memorable evening.
The BBQ shrimp and fried oysters are exceptional. Service is gracious.
Each year our family meets in NOLA in February and Mr. B's is always part of our itinerary. Food and service have always been stellar. Unfortunately that was not the case on our recent visit. My 84 year old mother and my aunt and uncle had arrived that day from Orlando, where an incident at the airport (TSA employee jumped to his death) caused them a seven hour delay, not to mention a great deal of stress. They arrived in town exhausted - and starving. We were seated and, after ordering drinks, my husband asked our server Renata for some bread. Her response - "We serve bread at every table." A few minutes later - still no bread - she brought my aunt a soup spoon and my aunt asked about bread - "We serve bread at every table." I guess that was useful info but did not help the hunger. Then, after having some bread, we ordered, and my mother (who weighs all of 98 pounds) ordered the crab cake as a dinner. Renata's response was, "All that talk about bread and you only order an appetizer?" Is she in the habit of questioning your patron's decisions?? There are too many fine restaurants in New Orleans to get attitude, particularly when you are tired and hungry. Fortunately Shea took over at the end of the meal for dessert orders and the check - and she was just lovely; prompt and personable. Mr B's will no longer be on our rotation of restaurants. Yes - one bad experience is all it takes. We have many, many other choices.
Have been going to Mr. B's for years, and they have always had a really high standard of service and perfection. Not so much anymore....very common! Seems like all FQ establishments are catering to tourist and rudimentary standards are not being maintained. Dress code is lacking, service is spotty and food is mediocre, at best. Pretty sad.
We’ve eaten here twice in three days. Seafood gumbo was absolutely the best. Do not miss out on their BBQ shrimp or you will be sad for the rest of your life!
one of our favorite places in New Orleans. Even tho it's a famous staple, it never disappoints. Great service, wonderful food! The oyster appetizer was awesome! Thanks for a great experience.
We had a great experience. The food was delicious, and the bread and butter was SO GOOD!
Amazing company and outstanding service
