The food was excellent waiter was knowledgable had a great time as always
We travel to New Orleans often and always make Mr B’s part of our plans. The food is amazing and usually, the service is as well. During this visit the service was terrible. It was obvious the waiter and the assistant waiter were having some kind of dispute. They argued a bit in front of us at the computer terminal. At one point they both disappeared for 10 minutes while we sat with our dirty appetizer dishes. It seems management got involved and separated them and we had a new assistant waiter, she was trying so all she could to help but by then, with about 4 other tables they were behind. It went well for entree and desserts but then there was a mix up at another table and we sat for 15 minutes waiting for our check. No manager ever visited our table dispute the issues.
Disappointed !!! With so many amazing choices in NOLA, I’d have to wonder about returning again but the BBQ shrimp was worth it.
Mr. B’s was recommended by a local friend since we were in town on vacation. One of her favorite places for happy hour and special occasions. We were very impressed with the environment, staff and food. It’s definitely a higher class restaurant that we look forward to on our next trip.
So much fun. The food was great. The service superior. We ate our way across New Orleans and ended up at Mr. B's for Sunday brunch before heading home. A perfect way to end our trip.
Service was great waitstaff was attentive.
Everyone in my group of 5 was excited to dine at Mr.
B’s for dinner, but unfortunately it was a less than stellar experience. We felt like we were an imposition from the moment we walked into the door. The food was good for the most part- some dishes were excellent and others were mediocre, but the consensus of the group was that this is a one & done restaurant.
The food was just ok. The crab cake was good but the shrimp in the two entrees we ordered were over cooked. I was expecting an upscale experience since the dress code said gentlemen must wear pants but there were plenty of sleeveless shirts and shorts.
Went in early evening and had great service and a wonderful meal.
Only complaint is that there were no potatoes for lunch, and no seafood gumbo. Otherwise, it was fantastic.
We had a wonderful dinner on our first night in New Orleans. Would highly recommend!
The food was VERY good. I had the best pork chop ever, large, very well seasoned and moist. My husband had the shrimp and grits and cleaned his plate. Bread was warm and fresh. Portion of bread pudding was good for 2. Will be back.
Food was good as usual. Service was excellent. Dress code must have changed as there was a party of 6, one with shorts and flip flops and another with a skin tight 2 piece outfit with midriff showing.
Visited Mr. B's for a business lunch. Everything was delicious, and the service was great.
Food and service was fantastic. Fish is always cooked perfectly, and the gumbo is the best I have ever tasted. Cannot wait to go back.
Not the Mr. B’s … not fine dining anymore. Too many folks in shorts, Tee’s, ball caps.
Not very good. I went on the recommendation of a relative who hadn’t been there in some time. I think it probably does well because it is in the French Quarter. Service was subpar as well. There have got to be a dozen of much better places in a 1/2 mile block radius!
Wonderful food. Wonderful staff!
Food was excellent….just as described, presentation awesome, and service great. We would not hesitate to go back.
Always a fav spot in NOLA for us! BBQ shrimp is hands down the best! Love the atmosphere and the staff is excellent!
A bit pricey. Definitely for special occasions. However, food was very good.
This was my first time dining at Mr. B’s, and it is definitely now my New Orleans favorite. Food was delicious, service was great, atmosphere was relaxed and classy, and the staff made several very thoughtful birthday accommodations along the way after I mentioned on the reservation that it was a birthday dinner. Fantastic experience!
They wrre so accommodating for our party of 18. We were celebrating my 50th bday. They had balloons on the table (so sweet). They were able to seat us at 2 tables side by side. Service was great. Food amazing. I had the grouper. Best fish I’ve ever had.
Clarence was sooo good. Great waiter. Really appreciate all the love they showed me!
Mr. B's Bistro is our go-to every singe trip to New Orleans. Their BBQ Shrimp is, hands down, the best dish EVER!
Love this restaurant. We come to New Orleans frequently and try to make sure we go to Mr B’s Bistro just about every time . We usually order the BBQ Shrimp entree as a starter to split, for entree we both enjoyed the grouper, so light a flavorful. Excellent wines list, wonderful service. Never disappoints.
One of my favorite places in New Orleans. Great food and atmosphere.
Fantastic - BBQ shrimp, shrimp & grits & a chicken dish ordered along with crab cake. Everything was perfect and delicious. Best meal in NOLA. We each had a dessert as well- equally wonderful. Great cocktails and service! Bravo
You will not find a place like this anywhere else but New Orleans. We make an annual trip and except for the disruptions this last year, NEVER miss an opportunity to enjoy a superlative meal. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere truly welcoming. All of the staff will make it a 5-Star experience! Don’t miss out if you are in the New Orleans area!
The food is amazing!! I had a drum fish with asparagus and pecan rice. My husband had the barbecue shrimp. And to top it off we had the best pecan pie we've eaten!!!
Food was amazing. Best meal I had in new Orleans. Resturant was beautiful.
Table top had Mr B’s listed as Coolinary Dining this week. We were expecting a Coolinary Menu. We were told they were not ready for Coolinary this week. This was disappointing. They said they will have it the whole month of Aug. We came from Metairie and we’re not going to leave. Even though disappointed we enjoyed our meal.
Mr. B's delivers a classic New Orleans French Quarter fine dining experience. The menu is accessible and all the food is expertly prepared. The service was smooth. I had the Gumbo YaYa, which is a style they created, and grilled fish. It was delicious. While I gave it four stars, meaning I don't think it is the pinnacle of fine dining in New Orleans at the moment, it is one of the few restaurants I consider a perfect representation of traditional New Orleans cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting who wants true New Orleans flavors or any local who wants what we consider comfort food.
JC and Brett are the best wait team in the city. Gumbo YaYa and BBQ Shrimp will change your life.
Loved everything we ate !! BBQ shrimp, fried oysters and the duck spring rolls were amazing !!
Birthday! There was a balloon on the table. The only thing that was a little overwhelming was that we had 3 waiters
Food was great service a little slow, not the waiters fault need busboys
Great meals and service. Mister B’s never disappoints. One of our favorite restaurants in NOLA.
Food was great. Service was a bit slow but it appeared they were short staffed. I am sure once people go back to work they will be fine.
Our waitress did not have a personality!
Took my wife to Mr. B’s for her B-Day!! The service and food was amazing. She ordered the shrimp and grits and I order the honey-glazed pork chop. Everything was top notch. The one thing that I would improve on is the bartender being heavy handed on the drinks.
Amazing dinner. Great ambience, great food, and terrific service. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a nice spot in the French quarter for a date, anniversary, etc
