Amazing! Great service, great food, great atmosphere!
Unfortunately we caught them on a night with limited or poor staff. Too bad for us it was a long awaiting special occasion. No napkins, no steak knife, drinks and glasses of wine to be served with the meal either didn’t arrive or arrived after the meal. Had to ask staff three times for everything.
Ordered dessert and coffee , after dessert delivered they told us they had No coffee — didn’t offer us alternatives , didn’t suggest something else, let us to eat dessert with one too few utensils , no plates at all and no napkins .
Not what I expect from what is usually a NO favorite.
They lost our order and we sat their 3 hours waiting for food. They comped us 2 desserts for 5 people. But service was not apologetic. Very bummed on a Fathers Day
Our waitress did not provide good service at all. She barely came to our table. We had to wait very long to order in between apps and entrees. When we finally got our entrees I asked her to put in my dessert order because I knew she would never come back to our table. She said she would wait to put them in and I knew that was going to be an issue. she ever comes back to the table. I had to ask the waiter at the table next to me to bring my bill. My husband told that waiter that we ordered desserts and to cancel them at this point. SHE NEVER PUT THEM IN!! I left totally frustrated with the service. But the food taste was on point.
Loved this place so much!! Will be back for sure!
Father's Day lunch 2021. Oyster appetizer was excellent!
I had BBQ Shrimp and the first shrimp I tried was over-cooked. The rest were fine and the sauce was good. My wife had the fish dish and she said that the fish was cool at best. I tried it and she was right. Would have sent it back but had already sent back a drink that was not good. They are understaffed due to Covid - I get it, however $31 for a piece of cold fish is unacceptable.
As locals, we frequent this spot. Fridays for lunch (especially with the martini special!) are our favorite. Karen is our MVP; she's waited on us at least eight times and she is always a funny, warm, efficient gem. Don't sleep on the duck spring rolls or (of course!) the gumbo ya ya!
Every time I’m in New Orleans is a must to be in this wonderful restaurant, quality is always the best
The food was excellent! Our waiters were prompt and friendly and suggestions were spot on.
I went for their signature BBQ shrimp dish and was not disappointed. It was an anniversary dinner and additional attention was not OTT and was truly appreciated. A very memorable meal
The food was subpar for the price tag. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants in the French Quarter, however I would skip Mr. B’s Bistro on account of the mediocre food quality. The service was decent and the atmosphere for was nice.
As good as always. Great place to dip in and have a late lunch.
As always a delightful dining experience. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. The whole dinning experience was wonderful!!!
Wonderful service, great location, good food
Excellent food and service.
Attentive and professional waiters.
Great ambience. Food was good. Overall definitely recommend for a nice dinner.
Soft shell crab!
Best gumbo in town, served with warm bread. Soft shell crab done just right. Not intimate but comfortable atmosphere. Return here every time in New Orleans. Not wheelchair friendly.
Another Fabulous dinner at Irene’s!!!
Great restaurant! Don't forget the bread pudding! We were there celebrating a birthday and the staff made it an event for us even though the place was packed. Very kind and considerate. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is first class. Thanks!
We’ve been eating at Mr. B’s for years. Let me start by saying the food was excellent. The only issue we had was the service. I don’t know how many times we had to ask for an iced tea or water refill. We asked for bread three times and finally got it when our food came out. But the thing that got me the most is - it was my birthday and the waiter brought my husband a complementary dessert because he mentioned he didn’t have time to order it and eat it there. We were both going to get a dessert but it took so long for dinner and we had another engagement. He walked off while I was saying I’ll take one to go as well. He later came back with my husband’s dessert and I asked for one to go. He charged me for mine. I would think if anyone was getting a dessert it would have been me - LOL! I wouldn’t have cared if it were something that we could share but it wasn’t.
Needless to say. The service really wasn’t our best experience and next time I will make sure to say something to a manager. That night they didn’t around to check on tables.
We loved it! Was highly recommended by a friend & didn't disappoint!
Crab cakes were amazing and will be the reason we come back again and again. The fried green tomatoes are a must also.
A regular spot for us every few weeks. Great service and we always enjoy fried oysters, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes and barbecued shrimp. We also like the warm almost English club- like atmosphere.
Food delicious! Waiter a little snooty but I got over it. Will go back again SOON!
Best shrimp in the lower 48.
Wonderful food! We got the crab cakes and iceberg salad, both were nice. We had shrimp and grits, and the veal. Then lemon pie...yum!
They were little short on staff, but the ones that were there worked really hard to serve us. Great dining experience!
Always a must do when in New Orleans - period.
Service poor. Pleasant but understaffed. BBQ not as good as it used to be. Appetizers great. Desert not so much
My wife & I had a very nice lunch at Mr. B’s Bistro. We shared their gumbo, Creole tomato salad, & Pecanwood bacon wrapped shrimp with red eye gravy. I had the shrimp dish several years ago & after their cookbook came out I loved the dish so much I have made it a go to dish at home. The stone ground grits cooked with milk and heavy cream, then finished with mascarpone would be outstanding but then they top the grits with bacon wrapped shrimp and bacon bits. Good eats. The creole tomato salad with fresh tomatoes and soft mozzarella finished with basil, extra virgin olive oil, & balsamic vinegar was an excellent first course.
Great place as usual.
Servers were slow and inattentive. Didn’t clear dishes between courses. Therefore had to set the entree’s aside and remove previous course. The flavor of the food was good, but it arrived at the table only slightly warm. (See above reason). The two gentlemen that were our host for the evening acted as though they were doing us a favor to has dine in the restaurant. I’ll go back, but maybe give them a little time to get their act back together.
I’ve dined at Mr. B’s several times and it never disappoints, including this time. Everyone loved their food. The pork chop was the best I’ve ever had and the bread pudding is just heavenly!
BBQ shrimp was excellent. Nice location. Service was great.
Our fave for crab cakes!
Mr. B’s Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans.
The food is outstanding as is the service!
Located on historic Royal street, across from the Monteleone hotel, you just can’t go wrong!
The staff was great - very accommodating and pleasant even with my rowdy bunch. The food is always amazing - the oysters were outstanding!
