Our experience at Morimoto was 10/10! The breathtaking view, fresh and flavorful sushi/sashimi…my oh my… This was our favorite restaurant on Maui. It’s an upscale yet family friendly establishment in our opinion. We hope to return soon!
Had high hopes for this meal but it was just average.
Wonderful food. I would have given 5 stars all around but they were out of half of the appetizer menu by 1:30pm. I would definitely recommend.
They were out of a few key items and it was only
1pm so that was disappointing.
Out of menu items; started scrubbing down kitchen and carrying kitchen items through dining room at 8p, while we were dining.
Have been here before with great rest; this was terrible.
We’d heard issues about getting into restaurants on Maui due to pandemic restrictions. Occupancy of travelers is higher than allowed restaurant capacity. We felt lucky to get into Morimotos at all. We’d dined there in 2014 when it opened. Our experience today was great. Food was top notch. My wife had the wagyu fillet and I had sashimi. The experience was awesome. Thanks Morimotos. It can’t be easy operating at half scale. We appreciate your efforts fulfilling our memorable dining experience.
Great sushi, great service for most of dining experience,
Setting is strange - beautiful ocean view, yet right beside large family pool for Andaz (amazing resort - just may not want to have nice dining experience close enough to swimming families that you get splashed) Hosts tend to sit people right next to pool even when other tables open - vegetarian options are just OK - overall, highly recommend the sushi, and guests may want to request seats away from pool during peak swim hours - greeting to restaurant was more focused on communicating Covid restrictions than providing welcome
Be aware that seatings were next to swimming pool like a pool bar rather than upscale restaurant. We ate omakase and sushi quality was so so .....we chose here because we had a great experience at San Francisco morimoto.
Not worth the money. Ok food at premium prices
Wish the tasting menu was back, but overall great experience!
A great setting on the beach, wonderful food with a nice list of sakes!
Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Sitting poolside at a table without a table cloth while dining right next to a pool with happy but loud children is unacceptable
Basically you can get out of the pool, dry off, and dine at this restaurant is unacceptable. In fact your could just stay in your swimsuit.
The food was excellent although they were out of a couple of appetizers. It was only lunchtime and there weren’t that many choices to begin with. Service was not very good which was very disappointing for such an expensive restaurant. Also a manager was sitting there at the counter the entire time, sometimes talking a bit loudly on the phone. That didn’t help the overall experience. Not sure I would go again.
Lovely location next to the Andaz pool with views of the ocean. We tried 2 appetizers, an entree and a sushi roll. All were delicious.
Delicious, delicious, delicious... everything from the appetizers to dessert!
The sticky ribs are too sour for. I could make a meal or if them. And the black chips melted in your mouth!
We found an affordable way to REALLY celebrate!
Sweet spot on our planet that we inhabit.
We had lunch there yesterday. There were way too many wooden and cement steps for older people to get to the pool area. You have to walk by 3 different pools with lots of people to get to the Restaurant. They were out of 2 of the 4 appetizers that were offered. They didn’t carry the Pinot gris that was listed by the glass and bottle. The patio is located next to the pool-literally, so the ambience was ok. I’d recommend the edamame (huge portion), and shrimp tempura. The Spider Roll was pretty good too. Our Server was very nice and attentive. Overall, I expected more from a Iron Chef’s Restaurant, but understand with COVID restrictions and limits on things, that there’s certain things that are out of their control.
We had an amazing meal! Location, ambiance and service was excellent. And we had a beautiful sunset too!
One of the best meals we had on vacation! Incredible good, excellent service and a beautiful view.
Best quality sushi I think we have ever had! Absolutely delicious and amazing service.
The food was amazing and the service.
Biggest complaint is that so many items were unavailable but the service was greT
Portions have gotten much smaller from my previous visit. Service was just okay. Bartender was sweet. Sashimi quality and ambience is amazing and therefore will come here again, but wouldn’t come hungry as the portion sizes are so small and expensive. Also my choice of wine was sold out.
Best sushi I’ve ever had. A-5 steak is a must. Will not disappoint!
Wonderful ambiance and excellent service.
Get the yellow tail
Great fish wit excellent service and vibe !!
We usually love Morimoto but lunch we had there a couple of days ago was disappointing. Usually the sushi is fresh and this time I had doubts about the freshness. I feel like lunch service and food is below average for the price and definitely lacks dinner time quality.
Try to get an outside table, we were able to enjoy the luau at the hotel about 50 feet away during dinner.
Not really kid friendly much better experience w kids
Great food great service
Sad to say I was disappointed. Was so looking forward to something amazing and special, but was not at all what I expected. I was hoping for amazing sushi, amazing menu options and was gobsmacked at what was presented for the price paid. Won’t be going back. Wouldn’t recommend to friends. Staff seemed annoyed with our presence at the beginning of dinner service - the only reservation available three weeks ahead of our trip. We ate and left. Likely should have tried somewhere local and less posh - may have been a better experience.
Sushi was outstanding, service was terrific, and the view couldn’t have been better.
This was the best meal I had on the island. I highly recommend the carpaccios and the rock shrimp.
Food was very good as was view. The luau in background was a bit noisy.
Amazing dining experience
Server was not knowledgeable about the sake and made no effort to find someone who was. Was unable to give recommendations on food and was not very friendly. Food was fine, but nothing special- no need to eat here in Hawaii. Go to Miso Phat or the lounge at the 4 seasons.
We came in to blow it out and were treated as a nuisance.
Expected higher quality of sushi. We are very frequent high end sushi patrons. Had high expectations and everyone was disappointed with sushi quality. Service and ambiance was fantastic.
This place was so great. The view was beautiful and the food and hospitality were outstanding.
