Amazing food. The staff wad extremely nice. The sunset was amazing
Our Morimoto Ohana hold a very special place in our hearts. We love everything from the incredible sashimi starters to the ishi yaki buri bop and if we’re lucky, watermelon gazpacho with yuzu sorbet for dessert. Service is friendly and professional. And who wouldn’t love watching the sunset over the ocean while sipping a Pete’s Kiss or saki?
I went early but they were attentive. Hamachi tacos were excellent
Only had sushi and sashimi this time. Fairly quick coming out. Fish was fresh, soft, and buttery. The rolls were simple but good. So if you're looking for crazy combos (like cream cheese, asparagus, mackerel, and ikura) this is not it.
Had to ask for a table on water even though nobody there
I felt food was overly salty/seasoned.
Amazing food with the most perfect view!
Just amazing! Loved the sushi, pork belly appetiser and local fish of day. Just incredible.
This is how we ended our vacation last year was a dinner at Morimoto. We had a fabulous dinner and subsequently went to Morimoto in Orlando in January and had another fabulous dinner. This last visit (Feb 21) was entirely different. Started with $20 cocktails served almost at room temperature - ended up asking for a glass of ice so that I could drink the martini - and not a great cocktail for the money (walk down to Ferraros instead). Ordered three appetizers and then was told that two of the items they were out of (shishito peppers are hard to stock?) Called ahead and requested a table outside but we were seated indoors which would have been fine but the open bulb was so glary we all ended up pushing our chairs away from the table until the food came. We were in Wailea for 9 days and had amazing meals - this we saved for our last night and our entire party was underwhelmed.
amazing food. had a minor issue that was corrected. great team and service.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I’m a foodie!
The food was absolutely amazing. We want to go back to try more dishes.
We had been trying for months to get in. It was truly worth the wait.
Very nice service. Beautiful spot. Good food.
Food sub par! Sticky ribs...sticky bones of fat!
Sushi..grocery store taste
First time dining at Morimoto and it was delicious! My father mentioned that it was the best pork chop he’s ever had.
Morimotos consistently offers amazing food and service. Having been to 3 different locations now, it’s one of my go to choices for special evenings, anniversary, birthdays etc.
Don’t. Waste. Your. Time or Money
If you want to pay over $200 for food you could have picked up at the local Asian market for less than $25 this is your place. So bad on so many levels it’s hard to know where to begin. The service was haphazard and the server didn’t seem to know much about the food except the names. Many of the subsequent orders went through the busboy as the waiter was nowhere to be found. The fish was average at best. Cocktail was the incorrect order and served in a chipped glass. When asked for a dry sake he replied he didn’t know anything about sake and recommended a $40 flight to try to decide. Valentine’s dessert was the highlight and I ordered a cognac to accompany. Was asked if if I wanted it on the rocks. Who serves cognac cold? It came in a frosty glass. I complained and the server apologized and returned with it in a white wine glass. Still cold. While trying to place an order the host walked by and started yelling at another service person. If I was Morimoto I’d be embarrassed to have my name associated with this....
Anything you order you will love. There literally wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy. Definitely a solid place for a special occasion since it isn’t a normal affordable dinner.
If you're familiar with Morimoto you will be happy with the food. The atmosphere is much more laid-back than any other location I have been to. In my opinion this place looks more like a pool bar / casual restaurant than what I was expecting.
Go for dinner, not for lunch—completely different levels on the quality of the food. I ordered the same meal at lunch and dinner, and it's a night and day difference.
Don’t be fooled by the rating and reviews. Food was very, very mediocre, surprised this is regarded as one of the best Japanese restaurants at Maui. Sushi has huge portion of rice and uneven application of wasabi. The assortment in the sushi set is very meh. Service was slow and unremarkable. Noted down in our reservation that it’s for a special occasion (birthday) and the restaurant did nothing to acknowledge that. All in all a huge disappointment. Should’ve booked a different restaurant, what a waste of time and money.
Took for ever with no one there. No modifications to anything. Rolls over priced and boring. Sat a table of ten right after they said we could not seat six. Took 45 min for a fee Hamachi pieces. I would not waste my time..
I made my booking a month our for a table on the terrace for our anniversary; which I noted on the reservation. We waited 45 minutes for a table. I understand the complications of Covid for spacing out diners, however our wait was truly a result of poor management of the dinning room. Not impressive for this high-end restaurant. Furthermore, my entree of black cod arrived with absolutely no accompanying items what so ever. Not even a token scoop of rice. Unimpressive.
Friends meeting up!
As usual very good!
We were celebrating a special occasion and had notified the restaurant in advance. Despite this we were given a terrible table literally adjacent to the outdoor bar which caused noise and distraction and killed any view. One entree (catch of the day) was literally inedible as it was overwhelming salty. Clearly a problem with the kitchen. I returned the dish uneaten and neither our server nor the manager asked about it or offered to do anything fir us as an accommodation. At Morimoto prices I would have expected some degree of concern but there was none. Our server (Justice) seemed uninterested. Overall a very disappointing experience and we would be reluctant to return.
Food was delicious. The views were beautiful especially at sunset. The service was great. Definitely a great date place for foodies.
We went for our anniversary and the food and service was excellent as expected. Pricey, also expected, but worth it for a special occasion.
Horrible food took 2 hours to come out
Sever came to table 3 times during that span
Sat with empty drink cup for 20 minutes
Some food came out 45 minutes after other entrees
I could dine at Morimoto Maui every night of my life.
We enjoyed our sunset dinner celebration of my husband’s birthday! The drinks and food were delicious and the service was outstanding!
Fabulous meal and service!
An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The food is known for being amazing, but the service is so spot-on as well. From the very first greeting to the dropping of the check, every person was extremely attentive and hospitable. Felt very safe in the restaurant as well, all COVID guidelines being followed. Shout out to Lance for having the greatest attitude and personality! I saw him check in on almost every table to make sure everyone was having a great experience. We will be back anytime we are in the area!
It was lit 🔥 great service, delightful food and amazing cocktails! Sake tasting was lovely. Don’t sleep on the soft shell crab bao buns or the fish carpaccio. 10/10 recommend
Heidi is the best. A real gem
I flew all the way to Hawaii from Detroit because I LOVE this restaurant on this particular property- I wanted to have my Birthday dinner there. Was amazing as always!
Wonderful oceanfront dining at sunset. We went three times during our 8 day holiday. Started with chu-toro and oh-toro, then red snapper carpaccio salad and a main of yellowtail buri bop. Can’t beat it!
Amazing food and service! Unpretentious atmosphere but 5 star food. Right on the beach.
Food was amazing, every dish. Heidi was our server and she was so great. Would love to see her again. Coming again Thursday. See you then!!!
Fabulous in every way.
Seated at a table poolside next to a family at the pool. Awkward table placement when dressed up for dinner. Other diners wearing bathing suits and flip flops. Expect a poolside bar rather than an elegant evening. Service was great and the food was decent.
