MIX Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We were looking for a Thanksgiving dinner option when we learned that friends were coming down to Southern California for a special event that we were attending too. It was a late search but remembered comments from other friends about the dinner they had several Thanksgivings ago at Mix that they said was very good. Fortunately there was space for us and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent!
Mix Restaurant and Lounge immediately seated us when I presented them with a printout of my "Open Table" reservation even though they were quite busy. The server was helpful in making choices and put the order into the kitchen as soon as we completed the order (we had a short amount of time for lunch). The server also allowed us to split the check and pay separately. Food preparation was excellent and quite tasty - a cut above normal for a lunch. Cost was a bit above normal but well worth it in the presentation and taste of the food. I definitely would recommend "Mix Restaurant and Lounge" and plan to return.
Hostess was Patient, kind but worked super fast and efficient to get everyone seated quickly. We had a little wait before someone finally came for our food order but it was delicious once we got our food. Sometimes hard to understand our waiters accent but his service was impeccable! Fast and friendly. We would definitely go back.
Prompt service. I had to push back my reservation time three times due to schedule changes at the conference I was attending, the restaurant was very accommodating, and seated us within minutes of arrival. The use of the Open Table app afforded us the opportunity to bypass a huge line of fellow conference attendees. We were enjoying our dinner shortly thereafter.
It is a nice resturant and we were attended to quickly, but the menu just wasnt appealing. Not many options and the descriptions of the plates just fell short of what to expect for your dinner. Also, if you're staying at the hotel it is the exact same menu as room service for the exact same price. Overall, the atmosphere is lovely but not enough substance for the food. We did leave shortly after seeing the menu and asking a few questions about the dishes. Did not want to take up space from others who truely wanted to eat there amd enjoy the meal. Glad that not one of the staff memebers took offense to us leaving and completely understood.
We had a great table/reservation for 12 people. Sat us right away and our server was attentive. I would say a bit pricey for pretty basic menu, but it is in a hotel, so fair game I suppose. For example, the 4 shrimp for a $15 shrimp cocktail was pretty lame. Those people walked out starved. The salmon salad was amazing though. Thanks for the great service.
MIX has a nice ambiance and is a large restaurant. The server was great. The food was just so so though. The buffet was underwhelming, although I really liked the assortment of muffins and croissants. I was especially disappointed by the fruit selection... mostly grapes and melons, despite being in California during berry season :-( There wasn't even an option on the menu to get a berry assortment (which is my "go to" breakfast when traveling, e.g. granola and a side of berries, which is why I was so disappointed). Having said that, there was a wide selection of traditional breakfast items, including made-to-order omelettes, so perhaps it is great for most breakfast eaters.
Had a great time at the Breakfast With The Beatles special for Father's Day. Only suggestion I would make is traffic control. Our table was right in the middle of a walkway and we were interrupted quite a few times by people walking by. Was uncomfortable at times. Besides that, service was great.
After a long day working at an event in the hotel, it was great having a nice quiet and relaxing place for early dining. Our hostess was very courteous and seated us in a nice location away from the front of the restaurant. It was a quiet time and we just wanted to relax in a quiet area. Our server was just wonderful. Very upbeat and happy to be our waiter. Great smile! There were many choices on the menu and our waiter made some great recommendations, such as the Tortilla Soup & Fresh Fish Tacos. Both were AMAZING! No room for dessert, but next time the Creme Brulee. Thank you, Mix Restaurant.
We had an informal business meeting on a WED night over dinner and given the quaoty of the food, service, and speed we elected to stop by later on Friday for lunch given our time constraints. We were not disappointed. The food came out all at once for the eight members of our group, the meals were served quickly, the staff was very attentive, and the food was enjoyable.
Either they are understaffed or the servers were not trained adequately. They wouldn't take a pre order for a party. I'd have to wait until the reservation time to place the order because they wouldn't know who the server would be until then. For six orders? Really? Once we sat, food took a while to come but overall tasty and service was fine.
We chose Mixx at the Anaheim Hilton because we were attending the food convention next door.
Mixx at 6:30 Friday was very noisy. We could not hear each other talk.
Frankly hard to think much less talk
Ordered squash soup which was good.. The waitress brought French Onion first which had to be returned for the right one.
The beet salad was poorly conceived with too much dressing. They managed to overcook or miscook salmon.. Very hard to do as that fish is forgiving.
Linguini with seafood also poor.. Only the scallops pretty good; others over cooked. Mixx got the bill wrong adding drinks which the waitress removed.. $90 for poor food and unpleasant noise.
The waitress was cheerful and friendly but made mistakes as listed.
Most of our breakfast and dinner choices in the Anaheim area were excellent. This was our only bad choice.
Arriving a few minutes early for our reservation, we checked in with the hostess. She initially claimed that we didn't have a reservation and told us that it could be quite a long wait for a table. Having already felt as if it was going to be a strange experience, my friend pressed to look into our reservation. She then suddenly found it and told us it would be a few minutes.
There was a large party at a table and many, many empty seats. After about a 10 minute wait a waiter called us in and invited us to a table. Another several minutes went by and then someone came by and offered us a drink. We both asked for ice tea. A few moments later we were served the sweetest tasting tea ever. When we mentioned it, the waiter argued that it was simply tea. Once again, we pressed and another waitress admitted that it was actually tea & lemonade. Finally, we were brought menus. After placing our order, we began to hear a loud banging. When we asked if they were undergoing construction, the staff didn't seem to be aware of why we were asking. Finally we were given the explanation that a large show had been in residence and that the noise was the removal of everything.
The food came and it was fine.
Unfortunately a strange experience that I would not desire to experience again.
