My steak came out overdone but when redone it was delicious. The waitress only told us about one special and had to ask her to tell us the fish special. She was not very attentive.
Absolutely delicious and they were easily able to modify my dish for a food restriction. Loved it and will be back!
This was a very pleasant brunch experience. The bloody Mary was good and spicy, the shrimp and grits were delicious and the service was superb.
Great service, good food, expensive.
Susan Alibrandi always makes us feel so at home at Midtown :)
We had a wonderful server and our food was amazing! The steak and the short ribs were delicious. We had an early dinner so it was fairly quiet, but it would be a nice place to be even when crowded.
Food was good but service was terrible. It wasn't even busy and our waitress didn't check up on us at all. The hostess ended up helping us with our needs when I had to walk to the bar for some assistance
Have been here many times, but never on Thanksgiving. Have always have been extremely pleased. This time, not quite so much. Service good but we felt a bit hurried. The appetizer we ordered was, as always, great. Thanksgiving meal: Pumpkin soup wonderful. Turkey well prepared, gravy weak. Brussel sprouts great, as were sweet potatoes. Mashed potatoes not bad. Corn whatever it was, ok, as was green bean casserole. Cranberry sauce horrid. How can you mess that up?
Pumpkin pie awesome. 3 small rolls (there were 3 of us). No offer of coffee. As soon as we put our forks down, it was like, "ok, time for you to leave". Will go back anytime again, EXCEPT for Thanksgiving. Disappointed.
Thanksgiving dinner was superb. start with glass of bubbly, then wine with meal. all main courses and sides are exceptional, huge flavors, various textures for fun, all delivered as a balanced eye catching whole. we savor each time we come here! nice music, good conversation, nice crowd, made the time lively, not staid.
Thanksgiving menu was good, but not exciting....had anticipated more innovation rather than home cooking
Came in for a business lunch. We liked what we saw on the menu, and ended up each ordering a salad, however, our food took about 30 minutes to prepare. It seemed to be a bit of a drag for our selections. Parking was also a challenge.
I've eaten at and enjoyed MidTown in the past, but this time the food was inconsistent (my soup was much higher seasoned than another bowl at the table - to the point of being much darker), the main dish was over salted, and the waitress was just average. I will return and hope this was just a one time disappointment.
Overall great dining experience with excellent service. Just a few notes or suggestions: The charcuterie board needs a sweet ingredient to balance out the savory ones. We felt a bit rushed as our dinners were brought out while we were not even halfway thru the charcuterie. Wine selection was not huge but contained excellent quality choices. The front of the restaurant was a bit too noisy for my liking but appreciate that we were seated in the back behind the glass partition where the noise level was minimized. Would return and bring friends to enjoy.
Disappointed with hostess - no warm welcome or smile, and she refused to allow us to take a different table from the one she was determined to seat us at. Had requested a 'quiet table' on the reservation but as it was our first time we were not familiar with the seating plan which obviously doesn't really have quiet tables! We would have liked a booth which are perhaps the least noisy area.
Our waitress gave good service and was very pleasant. Food was good but noted portions are rather small for the price. Also wine by the glass is expensive and the pour seemed small for $12, the least expensive offering.
Great food, nice atmosphere but I do wish restaurants would think about their music choices in relation to their guests. Playing 80s pop music, loudly, such as Like a Virgin, in a restaurant of this caliber was just strange and distracting.
The restaurant was very loud. My short rib was more like crockpot pot roast. My food was barely warm.
We have been here before and had good results but this night was not the night.
This was w wonderful find. Probably the best meal that I've had in the past several years. Each course was delectable, particularly the scallops entree. Only negative was too much noise to allow an across the table conversation. Service was also outstanding.
The service was fine and the restaurant is attractive. Unfortunately, the dining experience was less than satisfactory. The bread was not much better than store bought white bread. The Caesar salad was more than disappointing...not worth ordering. Two of our party enjoyed their meals; my wife and I were underwhelmed. She ordered the shrimp and grits which was not up to expectations. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Midtown Grille is a lovely place for lunch or dinner. Food is consistently thoughtfully prepared and presented, and the service is always great. Great place for clients or a date night! You won't be disappointed.
Our Sunday brunch with bloody Maria was very tasty. Service was great as well.
Our friends had never been to Midtown Grille, and they were not disappointed. We found the food to be a wonderful mix of flavors, and the service was impeccable. Tripp, our server, was very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as being very professional. Phillip behind the bar is always a pleasure to see, and his drinks are outstanding.
We will be back for certain.
Went for lunch with friends and we were greeted as soon as we arrived. We were seated quickly. Our lunch was delicious. The atmosphere was so calming and perfect for conversation. We loved it!
Excellent shrimp and grits! The pumpkin soup is amazing.
Birthday brunch was amazing. They accommodated my food allergies with ease! Their menu is always impressive.
MG has a beautiful setting and the service is good. The food was good as well although we would warn that the calamari and brussel sprouts were very spicy. My husband had the special, which was duck, and it was perfectly cooked and the flavors were on point. I had the apple and pomegranate salad with salmon which was fantastic!!
Also a side note: appetizers are HUGE and the dinner plates are on the smaller size. Which was to our liking but it is worth notating.
The food was pretty good but the service by our waiter was terrible. We got more attention from the guy that brought our food to us than our actual waiter. At the end of the meal the manager brought over dessert menus but no one ever came back to take our order. We had to chase someone down for the bill because our waiter was going back and forth to one table only- at least 6 times- while ignoring us. Will not return to this place.
1st time we tried the Midtown Grille. Love the service. Food was good.
Our server was excellent: very attentive (but not too much) and creative
The Midtown Grill is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh, NC for business luncheons. The Grill is quiet, the servers are professional and respect your conversations, the BLTs are the best in the triangle and the atmosphere is "Tucked In."
The Grill is the only place I go for a business lunch.
The food was good - not great. The service was fantastic!!
We had Sunday brunch here and would return. We arrived at 11:30 and wasn't crowed. That fact began to change about 12:15 so get here early if you can. Both our choices were great, the southern Benedict and the smoked salmon omelet. Mimosas and Bloody Mary's were $5 a great bargain for a very good pour.
Nice place, with a good atmosphere! Enjoyed the food, everything was delicious
As usual our experience was excellent. Our waitress gave good suggestions and her service was very good without being overbearing. While there was above average noise, table conversation was easy. Overall, a quality evening.
The gespacho was great! Quick and friendly service and an overall fun experience.
Superb! Great chef, creative specials. Knowledgeable wait sraff.
Great service, lovely atmosphere for a nice lunch. 3 out of 4 of us really enjoyed our food. My husband said the oysters in his poorboy sandwich didn't have much flavor. But we would go again.
My sandwich was great, but my wifes salad lacked veggies but had lots if lettuce, ie skimpy on cukes, tomatoes etc..
Waitress had an attitude. My 92 year old father has difficulty hearing, and she had little patience an rolled her eyes. Took 10 mins to get a glass of water.
Went for Brunch. Excellent food choices and delicious! The lamb hash is da bom!
