Drunken Crispy Fish
Great service! Good drinks. Mushroom/pork egg rolls were yummy- a bit greasy. Curry with beef short ribs was excellent - just make sure to request extra veggies!
We split two entrees and both were very good. They were able to modify for a pepper allergy. Parang curry with short rib was excellent!
Excellent food on Maui, which is hard to come by. The waitstaff were friendly and fast. This is real Thai food and it was delicious!
Considering the Covid risk, I wish they had more space outside or were more open for ventilation. We had very good food and service, however.
Amazing, as usual. Thank you so much for being open during all of the restrictions!
Good food! Drinks could have been better. We ordered the Eggplant curry and tofu drunken noodle, both were tasty.
Food is always great! I do miss their lunch specials which were a good combination and size for lunch rather than the dinner menu now used all day.
Food was amazing, highly recommend. Felt like I was back in Thailand!
Food was great as always. Staff was friendly!
Drunken fish is the best
Food was okay at best. There was no wow factor in anything...
We had a lovely dinner...very interesting cocktail preparations and plenty of food choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely return. Our previous experiences at this restaurant were for lunch only. The service was very attentive, food was tasty and well prepared. The restaurant is adhering to current sanitary protocol...masks being worn and hand sanitizer available at the entry door. The restaurant was fairly empty but a continuous stream of take-out customers kept the staff fairly busy. An in-house dining experience would definitely be recommended for those who need a change from eating at home.
The Restaurant is very busy and we had to wait far too long for our waitress to come and get our first drink order. We ambiance is OK, very loud. The food is very good, but extremely overpriced we had just as good of food at other restaurants in the Maui area for a fraction of the price! The drink prices are absolutely ridiculous! Can’t say that I would go back.
Great little Thai spot. Nice to have something different.
We love to return to Maui Thai Bistro for the great food and were not disappointed this year. The menu now features specials which were shown along with pictures, which I appreciated. The Thai style crab fried rice was outstanding and generous with the crabmeat. My husband enjoyed the drunken chicken, as always!
Food was overpriced and underwhelming.
Our third or fourth time here. Our go to place for Thai food when in Maui!
My rating reflects my experience, not those who were with me as their rating would be higher.
Food: The Thai-Railway (Thai loco-moco) Fried Rice was not very good. About 1/2 the meat was fatty and while the smokey flavor was great, the fat and muscle ruined the dish. Also, the quantity of vegetables was sparse and mostly peas. Those with me had Pad Thai and I tried it and it was very good.
Service: Slow, and my not-so-great dish came late. Not a good experience having to watch everyone else eat while mine was missing. They couldn't wait a few more minutes for mine to be ready and then server everyone?
Seating: Hard metal chairs that ultimately made my sciatic problem worse. I didn't realize how bad this was until I got up as I forced a good posture while seated.
Overall, this experience was horrible. I have been eating here for years and it's usually great. Guess the message here is 1) don't try something new --- stick with the Pad Thai which is very good, 2) bring a cushion to make seating better and 3) ask the server to make sure all food is brought out at the same time if 1 dish will be delayed.
Good food that was fresh and well prepared. Great value and ample portions. Nothing fancy but great service and a quiet restaurant
Been coming here every other year since the late 1990s. While the place has undergone many changes since then, the food has always been excellent! We usually order the curries. Compliments to the chef.
Excellent Thai food...I think it's the best in Maui. Each dish is carefully prepared and well presented. Meals are consistently good. Nice varied menu. Friendly, helpful staff.
We really enjoy the food here and service is pretty decent. Didn't check in to see if food ok til nearly finished. They have benches against the wall to sit on which we declined as they're high and awkward with the pillows provided. We'll be back as the food is very good.
Tasty traditional Thai dishes. Inviting setting and good service. Took away 1 star due to the chicken being a little tough/ overcooked.
Had a 5:15 reservation. We were seated immediately. Had Happy Hour pricing for appetizers and drinks. A bit slow with the appetizer service, given the restaurant was nearly empty. Excellent food however. Panang curry with shortrib did not disappoint! Everything was wonderfully flavorful and spiced to our liking and request.
We ate here on a recent visit to Maui. Location not great, as it's in the back of a slightly seedy strip mall in Kihei, but that's Kihei. The service and food were outstanding. The macadamia nut panang curry with short ribs was the best curry I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of curry! Also had the eggplant dish, which was great. Creative use of fresh ingredients. Overall, a great place.
Horrible Thai. We are from NY but now live in Savannah GA. This place cane recommended by some locals and most of the Open Table reviews are good. I don't know if new chef but all the food was terrible. Curry watery and bland. Salmon old
Shrimp small and obviously previously frozen. Avoid this food
It’s always delicious. We come often!!
Best Thai food we’ve ever had and the spice level is on point with Thai not American standards which we liked.
Have been eating here once a year for nearly a decade. Maybe best Thai food we’ve had anywhere.
They do not open until 11. Misleading information on open table. Otherwise amazing
The macadamia nut curry with braised short rib meat was very good, and if you don't order that, you're crazy. The server was great and when asked, she steered us towards the curry, one of our favorite meals on the island. This is a strip mall joint with a clean and pleasant, very casual vibe.
Outstanding Thai food with a local twist. We had a very attentive and sweet waitress who gave great advice on her favorite cocktails and entrees. The food was delicious with just the right amount of heat/spice. We will definitely return.
Very nice place with amazing food! The drinks are also very good!
Always yummy. Year after year. If you live in Maui or visiting, go here. It’s delicious!
Very delicious!! Would highly recommend this place. If you are sensitive to spice I would probably par it down a bit as it can be spicy but great place. Would come back again.
The food was delicious and plentiful. Great experience
Here on vacation. The curries were delicious! And the cocktails too. Fantastic service. Amazing food.
One of our favorite meals on the island! All of the dishes we ordered were amazing!
Great food. Seemed unable to handle a full place because it took over an hour after being seated.
