Terrible service today it took on hour from time of ordering to receive food and restaurant was not full
Excellent...as always! Such a wonderful place - great customer service!! Food taste amazing! Same employees that have been here for years and they are FANTASTIC!!
The only disappointing experience is when I called to make a reservation. I was put on hold for 10 minutes before I finally hung up, went to Open Table and made a reservation. I was not sure if the reservation was recorded, so I called a second time and made the reservation by phone. Otherwise service was impeccable. I thought I would like the Mandarin Orange Souffle but it was not that tasty. Everyone was very nice to accommodate my friend who was on a walker. Toward the end of our meal the noise did get louder, this at 2:00. I had been here once before several years ago and the experience was lovely.
They didn’t have my reservation, the noise level was uncomfortable and the service was efficient but very impersonal. Not one of the better meals I’ve enjoyed at Mariposa.
Nice respite if your worn down from shopping. A bit over priced (it is Neiman’s after all) but have always found the food quality to be first class. I particularly like the salmon tacos and the Waldorf Curried chicken salad.
The waitress was great, we left a gift under the table, and she found us in the store to return it to us. I very much appreciate that.
The monkey bread is always a treat, it is delicious.
Darling place for good friends.
My mom and I dine at Mariposa every year during the after Christmas sale. We love the hot broth, monkey bread, and service especially this past time because our waitress was so attentive and got all of our orders perfectly correct. Food and drink presentation is outstanding, I had a salad with salmon. The only disappointment was my salmon, I found it to be lacking flavor. Our food is usually a lot tastier and mom thought the same. It is always the perfect spot to have lunch before getting the heavy shopping in!
Mariposa is adorable! I thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom was in from our of town so we decided to catch up over Saturday lunch. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the butter was pink (SUCH a nice touch). Mariposa was the perfect choice for a mother daughter lunch spot. Our server, Rosa Galan, was so sweet and very diligent. She had recommendations for drinks, food and dessert and she was so charming! We each ordered a cup of soup and split the grilled cheese and side salad. It was the perfect amount of food and everything tasted great. I had the tortilla soup and it was perfect for a chilly day! My mom had the chili con queso soup with her sandwich and it was divine. 10/10 we will certainly return. Thank you Rosa for a wonderful experience!
Black Friday girls brunch
It has been years since I visited Mariposa. I thought it would be nice to take my daughter since she had never been. I viewed the menu online and there were several options that I thought she would like. However, when we stepped off the escalator, all we had to do was follow the fishy smell to locate the restaurant.
Not once did the server smile or offer suggestions. The menu was completely different than what appeared online. The selections were quite slim and most had a seafood component. We honestly felt that the monkey bread was the best experience, but even it wasn't as good as it once was. There were no simple salad or sandwich options.
We were disappointed in the entire experience and will not be returning.
Took two lady friends here who are new to Houston. Love how they bring broth to the table to start the meal. My friends chose hot tea with their meal, I had a sparkling mineral water with fresh limes. Two of us had salads and one had soup. Everything was delicious and we all enjoyed the meal so much. We were there a while because we had much to visit about and share with each other. However, we were never rushed. Service was attentive yet respectful of not interrupting our time together. It was a perfect meal. One of the ladies told me later that she definitely was going to do this again! Success. My thanks to Mariposa for offering a beautiful enjoyable experience.
Elia is my favorite server.. she is so nice.
We had a great bday lunch. As always, great service..
An elegant and delicious lunch with
Lovely little extra touches.
The lobster was treetibly not fresh!! I told the wariter about the food, but nothing was reacted !
We used to love this place, but will have a second thoughts after this bad experience!
The tables for two are so close together that you cannot have a private conversation, particularly if the restaurant is full and the noise level is extra high. I would love to see them expand this space and have a more open area with a bit more space for diners to enjoy their friends. You are packed in!! But it is still a great place for lunch while out shopping at the Galleria.
Goid food but a bit pricey for everything. Lunch for 2 $70 is high. But it's Neimans
Great fresh food and service! Leanna provided great service! Perfect lunch!
Lovely spot if you are spending the day shopping in the Galleria.
Delicious, well prepared, beautifully presented and innovative food. Attentive service.
Love the private feeling its never over crowded
I wouldn't know.Open table didn't inform me they were closed
Enjoyed, as always! Will return in the near future.
My favorite place to eat!
Always good & a relaxing place to talk. The service is very good and I continue to return there. Kudos to the Mariposa
Always a joy to take a shopping break here. Been loving this restaurant for 40 years+, since I would come here with my mother when in Houston shopping and now my own daughter counts this as a "Must" when in town. One of our favorite traditions.
Beta our Waterss is the Greatest, always attentive, always there to pour a new Glass of wine. The maitre d is the best, always makes Sure we are ok , always checking on us !!! Thanks to a great staff !!!
Portions seem to be shrinking! Tasty nonetheless.
They failed to acknowledge my birthday
Jaime, our server, was great.
I have visited this restaurant three times and it is always good, I love the food and the ambience, just perfect for a quiet meal with friends, or a special occasion, service is good and not intrusive.
20 years since last visit. Great updates. Friendly service and clientele. Only criticism is that my turkey sandwich contained bacon that was more rock-hard and the sliced granny smith apples were also hard. Had too work too hard to enjoy a simple turkey sandwich. Broth was excellent as were cocktails.
Monkey bread & Chicken broth are excellent. Everything else is ok
$50.00 for a salad and an iced tea is ridiculous!
Everything was wonderful with the exception of the famous monkey bread. I would have lived it if it had been warm.
Great as usual . Every employee there makes it great !!!!
Beta always makes our break from shopping a great dining experiences !!! The service we receive from Beta and the whole crew is a 10 ( 10 being the highest ) We enjoy relaxing and having a great lunch. The Braeutigams
Food was good. Salmon tacos were delicious. I expected up charge but still thought food was a bit overpriced.
Service very very slow. Was at table quite a while before we were even acknowledged. And it was half empty in the restaurant so there seemed to be no excuse. Hard time getting a drink refill as well. That said, my salmon tacos were good, and I always enjoy the monkey bread.
I wish I could give this a better review. I took my sister and daughter for sis's b.d. The complimentary little mug of chicken broth is the best thing we had! I wish I could order a whole bowl of it. My daughter had the salmon and wasn't thrilled with it - too dry and under seasoned. I had the curry chicken salad. It was just good, but a little too heavy on the curry. My sister had the tuna salad and tomato soup. We all tasted the soup and all agreed it was kind of strange. Couldn't identify the spice in it, but none of us liked it. None of us "hated" our meal but we were expecting much more.
I also mentioned when I made the reservation that it a birthday event; then again when we arrived. Nothing was said, no happy birthday, complementary desert, nada. Which was again, very disappointing. Think I'll try the restaurant at Saks next time I'm at the Galleria.
