Northwest
Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

We simply loved our evening...the best part (well, in addition to the fabulous lamb with a mint pesto that was divine...) was our waiter, Jefferson. He absolutely 'made' the night for us. He was fun and upbeat, helpful in just the right way and beyond attentive (without being "too much"). He sensed my wish for a second glass of wine and helped me feel ok about the calories...:) Can't wait to return!

The food is amazing but the portions are tragically small. Great food, but you won’t be full.

Nice location.
Food is fine.

We had reservations well in advance, but we were told that we could not sit near a heat lamp, couldn't sit in the tented area, and after rain began to dump down on our table, we had to get up and ASK to be moved. They begrudging moved us to another table. I know they were annoyed with us, but with reservations in advance, and multiple requests to be dry and near a space heater, it was a big disappointment. We won't be back.

We heard Rye is a great place, so we will try that next time instead of Marche.

Loved our first night out in 18 months. A bit disappointed that our favorite dessert of all time was taken off the menu (one of the reasons we love Marche), the beignets with rhubarb sauce!! But loved the martini and those incredible fresh oysters. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Wonderful meals for our anniversary dinner. The salmon crepe appetizer we complimented with olive plate was a very tasty start. My blood & sand cocktail had just the right mix of smoky goodness with a hint of orange. I had a small salad which was a nice portion. The Pork chop and Lamb were both cooked perfect. Our server was both low key & attentive, but did not add much to our dining experience. Other servers nearby I heard give menu overview before dinner orders. We did not receive that, but since I did not ask for anything special, that may be the reason? Everything was delightful, this is a place for a good meal & I will return to sit in the bar for a drink and one of Marche's wonderful appetizers.

We love the emphasis on local. Would love to see same for organic. And the chef has a real sense for flavors on both dishes we enjoyed. The service was quite professional which was a refreshing change!

My favorite date restaurant! Vegetarian options are fabulous, you can tell they don't treat vegetarian as an afterthought. Really friendly waiters and just an overall great experience. it also happens to be the place where my husband proposed so I have an even more sentimental feelings about Marche. 😄

First indoor eating experience since COVID shutdown. Food was excellent. Service outstanding. They have plexiglass dividers between booths. We went early, so not busy inside. When folks did come in, noise level was still low due to indoor seating arrangements. Excellent!

Took three guests and had a fine meal. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because the troll Chinook Salmon from the Oregon Coast was a bit overcooked. The waiter mentioned that it was their policy to serve it medium-rare which is exactly what I desired, so it was a bit disappointing to receive it cooked to more like medium-well.
Other guests loved their filet mignons, broccolini with bleu cheese was perfect, french fries were good and not greasy at all, salad with bay shrimp was terrific with a nice green goddess type dressing. Excellent desserts of chocolate cake, creme brulee and very good service. Nice pate starter and lightly smoked local hazelnuts

We asked for a reservation at the outside “patio”, a covid add-on by the parking lot. Not wonderful, but good it existed.
Food did not live up to expectations. Nancy’s mussels appeared to have been cooked earlier and were presented in a colorless tasteless broth. Ban mie & portobello sandwiches were average. Vegetable sides were the best.

In spite of COVID, we had a very high quality dinner at Marché on 4/7/21. We sat on the heated terrace and felt safe. Service was fast and very courteous. The best part of the experience of course was the food. We started with the salmon rillettes that came with pickled turnips: the pairing was excellente, none of the tastes over powering the other, just complementing. I then choose the vegetable tagin. The dish was very well balanced with the pungent preserved lemon and spicy harissa. The coucous was light and fluffy and the vegetable cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed the mussels and is still raving about the crispy fries that came with the mussels. We were full, no dessert. I had a glass of rosé wine that was delicious. We will come back to Marché when we are in Eugene.

Our meal was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
I love the creativity of the entrees and most especially that everything is locally sourced and in season.
The service was wonderfully attentive and upbeat.
Given the reality of COVID restrictions, the ambience was excellent--covered outdoor dining with warming propane heaters.
The one disappointment was portion sizes. A dinner consisting of a small piece of meat and four pieces of asparagus simply isn't enough calories to sustain me. I had to go home and eat a snack.

We have never had a bad meal at Marche, but I think our Easter dinner was the best we've ever had. An amazing rhubarb cocktail, herb crusted rack of lamb, a great bottle of wine, and an outstanding gateau for dessert. First time we've ever had Easter dinner a a restaurant and the first time we have been in a restaurant ever since the beginning of Covid. Both now vaccinated, we are so glad our first dinner was at Marche.

Given that every restaurant is adjusting to Covid re opening Marche is at the beginning of that process and they handled it very well... The waitstaff was very attentive and careful in serving us, keeping his mask on all the time . He made us feel quite comfortable..the food was outstanding, we were seated right away...We look forward to a return visit to Eugene/
