Manhattan in the Desert - Palm Springs
Great New York style deli and bakery.
This is the second time I have dined at Manhattan’s. Excellent service I don’t know her name . Also ordered the half Cobb salad tossed, it was freshly made and fantastic! I took the rest home. My son had the Reuben which is very generously piled high with meat! So much food for your money.
You can’t leave manhattans without seeing all the delicious desserts displayed in their glass case. We took home a large slice of chocolate chip cheesecake & a cannoli. Desserts are also so scrumptious!! I will definitely be returning as this is my favorite place to eat !
While on vacation friends suggested trying Manhattan and we listened! The ease of Open Table reservation and the host that met us with a fun energy made us feel welcomed like an old friend visiting! The food, delicious isn’t enough to describe the experience we shared as we pleasantly tasted the pickles and green tomatoes! Every dish was eye opening and mouth watering as we all swapped plates to taste as much as we could!!
We celebrated our son’s birthday and as the waiter brought a taste of cake we all could enjoy, the smile on our son’s face made it all worth it!
The summer special is a tremendous value with many choices. Service is good and prompt. Staff is friendly & portions are generous. Coffee is great!!
I came with my son & grandkids. Service was excellent!! She recommended chicken livers and they were better than any I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning to your establishment. Also took desserts home and they were melt in your mouth delicious! I can’t wait to come back as I’d love to try your breakfast.
Always a great place for a casual meal! Great menu
Food was great, decorating was beautiful, food delivery was a little confused but the drinks were kept filled and the servers were very polite and friendly. Good value for the portions.
Always fun to visit while in town! Great food and service :)
Took my family to dinner and we really enjoyed our meal . Our server checked in on us and never left our glasses empty . Offered us the dinner specials and made our dinner a great experience. The food, well it speaks for it self . Well definitely be back .
We have been here many times great food, good location from where we stay.
Ate two nights in a row forgot to book the first night.
The summer special was worth the money and there was something for everyone on the menu. However, my spouse found his turkey to be tough and dry. I ordered rice pudding (which is always white and firm) a received a large bowl of some leaking yellow stuff. It tasted horrible. When I informed the waitress that I did not like it and could not eat it she simply said, " I am surprised, everyone loves it and we serve a lot of it" She then walked away and got the checks which included $7 dollars for uneaten pudding. This is very poor customer relations and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Love the large menu for breakfast! I hade the banana and pecan French toast (bananas foster). It was so yummy!
The breakfast was wonderful! I have the Nutella waffle with strawberries, it was to die for! My hubby had breakfast quesadilla with eggs etc. The staff was friendly. We will defiantly be going back.
Consistently good and the staff is always very friendly.
We had a reservation which seemed unnecessary at the time. But after ordering for a party of 5 ( salad, pancakes, chicken pot, turkey dinner & chicken dinner) our wait time was easily over 60 minutes. It was crazy. Yes, server offered free dessert but no one even wanted it by then. Meals were all so-so....best was the pancakes sadly.
Great Meals, Come Hungry - save some room for a dessert delicacy or have it to go!
A group of 8 of us went to dinner around 5 pm. When we arrived our table was ready and waiting for us. We all enjoyed our dinner choices. My husband and I split a dinner which was no problem for the restaurant. They did the split in the kitchen with no problem. Several of us ordered deserts. All delicious. And service was excellent. We will be returning soon. The menu is extensive. So many choices.
STILL the best Deli in Palm Springs, and one of the best in the Valley.
For deli this is as good as it gets in the valley. Breakfast is fine. Sandwiches are large and tasty. Dinner are designed for older eater who enjoy bland food. The one exception is the Chicken in a pot.
Restaurant was only 1/4th filled at 7 pm. Ordered a Turkey Pastrami Reuben. Got a Turkey Pastrami sandwich. Complained to waitress who said kitchen got it wrong. Didn’t have it remade because it took 20 minutes for the sandwich to arrive. Only time we saw waitress was when we ordered and delivery of food and to bring check. Cashier was not sympathetic. We won’t return.
The food was excellent . Had the pastrami sandwich. The bread was soft and the crust crisp. Yummmm. The waiter was really nice and attentive. Will be coming back
Delicious! Such an extensive menu with something for everyone! Sandwiches hot and cold, great dinner with so much food took leftovers, hot dogs, pasta, pizza, breakfast, ect. Everyone LOVED their food!! The best was our waiter Cliff! He loves his job and was fun, energetic, helpful, and so friendly!!! Don't wait, go eat there!!!!
The staff is always great, but the lox this time was salty and cut too thick, not the quality usually served.
I believe that because of the number in our party we were seated in an area that was away from main area making it and perfect for visiting. We decided we are going to make this our regular “place”. The food was exceptional with fresh ingredients cooked perfectly and service was attentive without being intrusive.
Best omelette ever have had! So much food. The banana pecan French toast was incredible. Great spot for a vacay breakfast!
Delicious food and generous portions combined with friendly professional service made this Manhattan in the Desert dining experience terrific.
I brought my family for Easter Brunch. I was disappointed that some items we always look forward to at a true Jewish Deli, were not available i.e. Kishka with gravy. The waiters were efficient and good, those items we did order were all good, Latkes, Whitefish platter and Matzo Ball soup all of which are available at most average Jewish Deli's, it's the special dishes we missed.
Great...we always enjoy ourselves!
Love this place. We go here for lunch whenever we are in Palm Springs.
Love the brisket, corned beef and matzo ball soup among others.
You can’t miss eating here.
Manhattan in the Desert never disappoints! We ate there twice in two days! The brisket and flank were tender and delicious! And we love the dessert choices!
Dinner with friends was made special by our waiter. He was fun and very attentive. The food exceptional and so much I had dinner next night. I wasn’t aware of early bird special and that a great surprise. We plan on returning soon with more friends that couldn’t make our monthly dinner.
Always a GREAT meal and generous portions. Nice staff and excellent host.
I love this restaurant! I always get the lox and bagel and almost always an egg cream. I am never disappointed with the meal or service. And it is so nice to eat someplace where one can have a conversation.
Great early bird specials. Generous portions and tasty meals.
Excellent menu. Fabulous desserts! Took our teenagers and they loved it. Huge portions too.
Went for lunch at round 2, so it wasn’t that crowded. Had a great booth by the window, and were greeted
by a friendly guy who brought drinks and our server who was very pleasant.
Since the sandwiches are “huge” we each ordered 1/2 sandwich and soup.
Matzo Ball soup was perfect. I could feel myself getting healthier as I ate it. ;-)
Ordered the brisket on rye. It was the best I’ve ever had. Juicy, and plentiful.
The pastrami was equally as good, and quite lean.
Very attentive staff. BTW took a “bear claw” home from their bakery. 10+
Good food good waiter. Like eating there
We really like this place! So much we don’t mind the 45 minutes to get there, today they were so busy the manager didn’t want to honor our reservation when the hostess was about to sit us he told her to put us on the waiting list. After he came back I asked him once again if he was going to disregard the fact we had a reservation from open table, be begrudgingly finally sat us down- make sure you save the confirmation and show it and write here if they choose to ignore you reservation.
This location is okay but we liked the one in Palm Desert better. Better ambiance, better location. Please open a new restaurant in PD. Love the food. Great New York deli plus more.
Lunch with a friend, food was as per usual delicious
