Fish
Mama's Fish House is a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Open air dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore.

Hard to find a place that lives up to the hype, but Mama’s delivered! Will make a staple upon our return to Maui. Service (Neil was our fantastic waiter), food and location can’t be beat.

Service was top notch. Food was fantastic. Four Stars on value high price drinks as is most things. Some guest don’t know what “smart casual” is and they seem to not enforce their dress code( I understand hard to do).

From the moment we arrived it was first class service, the staff were excellent. We've been on many cruises (noted for their excellent food) but the food at Mamma's was far superior. An experience that went beyond awesome. The meal was extraordinary.

Always great. Visit 2x per year. My only suggestion would be to make a better vegan dessert. It's not difficult.

Beautiful setting. Perfect for a nice lunch by the beach. We felt welcomed and were well taken care of by the staff. Ambiance is superb. The food was not only gorgeous to look at and presented well, the taste was superb. Best meal on Maui. Recommend: crab cakes, sashimi, crab stuffed fish with lobster tail (we shared the main course), and the black pearl dessert. Highly recommend!

Food was good, overpriced...sure. It's a novelty and you definitely pay extra for that aspect of Mama's Houee.

The food was good, not exceptional for what you're paying, but the service was great and the restaurant itself has a lot of unique historical qualities about it. I think it's worth trying if you have the time and spare $$$$ to burn. I would make a reservation far in advance 2 month + if you want a good time/table in the evening.

A friend recommended that we go while here in Maui. It was an amazing experience that we would recommend to anyone, however; it is VERY expensive so you must take that into account. We had appetizers and drinks and the bill was still over $140! If you plan to go make sure you understand that entrees will run you $50 and more. Overall though it was still worth it and not to be missed if you can afford it. Also go a bit early and walk around the grounds and down to the beach as it is a beautiful location.

We started with delicious crab cakes and drinks then Trout raised in Kula that was done perfectly also the Prawns In Tahiti’s vanilla and stuffed fish that the birthday girl loved. Service was great, as always, the food fresh and very tasty and the desert of chocolate caramel pie was to die for with ice cream. Very expensive, so we go for special occasions only because it is always like visiting a fantasy paradise. So beautiful and the aloha flows from everyone that works there. My daughter had a memorable birthday dinner.

Joey our server was amazing, he knew the menu and explained everything thoroughly and made excellent recommendations. The food was the best we had on our entire trip. My wife said it best, Mama’s Fish House raised the bar when it comes to Fish. Looking forward to coming back and eating here again.

Mama’s Fish House is a beautiful, open-aired restaurant on the water with accompanying views and wonderful service. The drinks we had were very good, but for $60 an entree, our main dishes were uninspired- simple grilled fish with bland sides didn’t leave me wowed. Go for the view, not the food.

Our server was great, he answered our questions about the menu with very descriptive details - which made making our lunch choices very easy (as everything sounds amazing). We asked for the complimentary poi and was amazed with what a great palette cleanser it turned out to be - We were able to distinctly taste the flavours of each dish with the help of this small paste. The food was impeccable, we loved it all (ranch beef, crab cakes, stuffed fish, panang curry - this was delicious, but very heavy). Lastly the view was spectacular out table had a great ocean view.

We had an amazing experience at Mama's Fish House! I would highly recommend it and please remember this is an experience...yes, you could find fish just as fresh and probably cheaper at other places, however when you combine the wonderful meal with the view and the incredible staff this is the place to go! The staff at MFH went above and beyond! Alexa was one of the top servers I have every had in all my travels. She is a rockstar!

While this is a lovely place, it is really oversold as a must do so don't feel too bad if you miss it. Two appetizers, one entree and two drinks set us back $160.00 and frankly while good, weren't anything memorable with the exception of the ceviche. The ceviche we had was excellent, but both the crab cake and our entree were just okay - nothing outstanding and certainly not worth $58.00 for one small plate of food given all the other options nearby for a great meal. There is a small sort of overlook that opens onto a beach where folks like to take pictures, but certainly not anything above and beyond all the amazing views you'll get in other parts of Maui. The staff is excellent (though we ordered the complimentary poi and it never arrived). Bottom line for us was that this probably is a great choice for a special occasion since the ambiance is nice and very elegant, but if you just want a great meal and don't want to pay a ton of money, I'd skip it and don't feel bad. We wished we had just gone for drinks and the raw stuff for happy hour. Anyway - not trying to be negative - just don't want folks to feel they have to go here or they missed out.

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot to the moment we left the facilities we had such a wonderful feeling of sincerely being welcomed and at home. The grounds are beautiful, the floral arrangements beyond compare, our table provided us the perfect setting for our anniversary (we could talk without feeling like we were being overheard), the service was flawless (Jessye was so patient with our curious dietary needs - did not make us feel like we were a “problem”), the food more than lived up to your promise, and we were allowed to enjoy ourselves without the feeling that we had to rush.... thank you for a dining experience we will always remember. We will be back!!
PS thank you for the Lei, anniversary remembrance card and surprise birthday cake, much appreciated.

It was my birthday, so we were seated closest to the beach, with a nice card on the table. Everything is expensive, so you need to approach this restaurant knowing that, and just remember that you are celebrating! I had Aunty Karen’s lemonade (alcoholic), and Alan tried a Blue Hawaiian. They brought an amuse bouche of clam and mushroom bisque which was lovely, and bread and butter. I started with Papa’s three fish sashimi, and Alan had the Haleakala beef in a grilled papaya. Our entrees were Opakapaka steamed with Asian sauce and vegetables, with coconut rice on the side, and Mama’s stuffed fish with lobster and crab, in a macadamia nut crust. Everything was flawless! We each had another drink, a Manhattan for me and a Mai Tai for Alan, and we also had dessert. I had the Chocolate Pearl, which to die for. Alan had the lilikoi (passion fruit) crime brûlée. I also got a bonus dessert for my birthday! It was a mini Key Lime style cheesecake with lilikoi sauce. We ate almost all! And Alan had coffee, which bring in a French press table side. Meanwhile, we could have watched the ocean swells all day. It was a wonderful meal and a wonderful experience!

Always the best when it comes to customer service and food. Great selection of entrees, including non fish dishes for those that prefer beef. If they don't have your desired drink on menu they'll still make it. We've been lucky enough to have Epps as our waiter on last couple visits. He knows the menu well and is one of the best when it comes to providing service!!

True old Hawaiian ambience. Beautiful location - go a little early and take those photos. The food is really outstanding. Our server was a veteran to the restaurant and very attentive (it was busy and service was a little slow, but understandable). While the prices are definitely on the high side, it was worth it. However, I would caution those with large groups and children as it may not be the most affordable dining experience.
