I needed a romantic fine dining restaurant for a date with my fiancé. We wanted to dress our best without standing out. Malio’s is exactly what I needed. The Tampa Riverwalk is the most romantic place in Tampa. The food, service, ambiance, and location are top notch.

Our service was awful, parking was not ideal at Valet and food was average at best. Was taking a new client prospect and needed to impress, had to apologize for picking a bad place so definitely not somewhere I recommend, very disappointing.

We had a wonderful time. We sat in the upper area in a booth and had a wonderful quiet dinner. The service was spectacular and I cannot say enough about how special they made us feel. The center cut fillet was tender and juicy. We had scallops that were cooked to perfection. The baked potato was the size of a football. It was the best meal I have had in months. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a happy hour

Food and service were amazing. Every main and side dish among our party of 4 was prepared beautifully, and even my wine by the glass was excellent. We closed the place down and so appreciated not being rushed during a reunion of friends. Truly the best steak I have had in years, had a comfortable table inside and service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Honestly, it was excellent! It is a better choice than the chains since it is of equal quality but has a more beautiful local history. There was not one thing I would change. I had not booked before because every time slot shows open, now I know why, the place is huge! Lots of people dining and a full bar too!

Excellent Across the Board After all these years, we finally got to Malio’s in downtown Tampa. Why did we wait? Malio’s is one of those clubby, old-fashioned places where everyone is professional and where they do things right. It’s also one of those places where regulars gather and new folks, like us, get introduced around. We chose to sit at the bar. Their excellent happy hour is only available in the bar area or on their patio. We got a couple of very good drinks off the happy hour menu. For food we started with the Shrimp Theresa, a delicious, garlicky, buttery appetizer, also on the happy hour menu. We paired that with the excellent Lobster Bisque. Included was wonderful house-made bread. For mains we had the Grouper Sliders which were very good and on the happy hour menu. We also had a perfectly cooked Veal Chop. We sided that with the Asparagus and Hollandaise. For dessert we had some gelato and sorbet—both great. We chose Malio’s since it is convenient to the Straz. After dinner it was a pleasant walk along the river to our show. And parking in Malio’s building is free for the evening if eating there.

The hostess was so polite in light of how busy she was last night. Smiling and a quick joke made us feel very welcome. Our waiter, Tim, checked on us often and suggested the Delmonico for me and a perfect cocktail from my wife. The food…phenomenal. Steaks were cooked perfectly and our salads were divine. We’ll be back!

The food was good but the service was sub-standard. The three team service staff introduced themselves and the fist server took our drink order. We brought our Anniversary Caymas reserve 2016 reserve Cab which I told them I had no issue with paying for the corkage fee. The salads were dropped and no one offered fresh ground pepper. We did not have anyone come by to check on us if everything is OK. We poured our own wind and the empty salad plates sat at the end of the table stacked up until one of the other team severs brought the entrees and the sides. She dropped off all the entrees and sides and left. No one ever returned to check an see if if everything is good or to see that the temps were to our order. Nothing not one of the three team servers returned. We finished our meals and stacked up the plated at the end of the table where they sat for a long time. Finally one of the team servers came by and removed the pile of entree dirty dishes. She asked are you going to have dessert? Of course the answer was no not even knowing what was being offered. I regret leaving a 20% cash tip as my wife scolded me for leaving a 20 % tip when the service was so bad. Needless to say we will not recommend Malios or will we ever go back.

First timers and we were very impressed! Food was delicious. Service was perfect as well as the ambience. We parked in the underground parking which took a little bit to find but the restaurant host was able to direct us to it over the phone. The menu has a wonderful selection. The waiter recommended some specials that were fantastic. We will definitely be back for another date night.

Amazing service and the food was great! We were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and this was our first time to Malio’s. Valet was great, hostess sat us right away, server was very attentive and all of his recommendations were great. Manager visited us a few times and she provided us with an anniversary desert.
