Malio's Prime

Overall just ok. Being from NEw York I frequent the better steak houses all the time. This is certainly a very pricey establishment with reasonably good food. Steaks were ok. Side of asparagus was chewy. One in my party ordered medium well and the steak was medium rare. All in all, I just didn’t think the value was there to warrant the prices. But that’s why they have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream.

I really can not complain about anything until I got the bill. My daughter and I split an appetizer, split a salad and split the entree. $220 later I felt foolish. The food was great, service and attention were also great.

This restaurant has the best steak in the Tampa Bay area. Everything on the menu is outstanding, but do not leave without having steak.

First time there.. great experience.. as with most higher end restaurant pricing was a little high but the service and food quality made up for it. Great wine and spirits selection.

Celebrating my husband 52nd Birthday everything was amazing

The only thing I did not enjoy was the lobster. It was tough and just couldn’t eat it.

My server was terrific. The quality of the meat is very good. My only complaint was that it was overcooked which is odd for a steakhouse. The thin cut potato chips were amazing. I will go back but maybe specify that they don’t overcook the meat (or order it a temperature lower)

Mehhhh! Big Birthday disappointed by choosing this location. Where is my time machine to go back and try another location!

I really liked the food and the location was nice and convenient. What I did not like was that there is no dress code. I hated looking up and seeing people in shorts and T shirts while I ate. Over all great food

Had a high top table in bar area. Great service, food and environment for a pre show activity at the Straz. Easy walk to Straz theater.

Always excellent food; excellent service. Though everything is ala carte it is WELL worth the expense. Malio’s has a long history in Tampa of excellence.

I thought it was over priced and a stat best. The cost of our meal did not warrant what we received. We will not be back and will let everyone that asks. Service was great but the food and the costs were way to much.

Went to this restaurant for our anniversary. We don’t eat at fancy restaurants often mostly just for special occasions. So we were super excited to eat here. The appetizer was very good. My husbands steak was cooked good and was delicious. The broccoli was cooked good. The blue crab mashed potatoes were amazing. But when you spend $70 on a streak and order it medium rare it should come out medium rare. I was starving, by the time the waitress came to check on us I ate 3 or 4 bites. And the steak was cooked medium to medium well. I was so hungry and my husband was eating his steak. So I tell the waitress my steak was over cooked. So leave it so I can eat it with my husband but no she takes it away then I have to wait an extra 15-20 mins for my steak to come out. My husband is done eating so know I’m eating by myself. Really??? Didn’t offer to take the steak off our bill even part of the steak off our bill. At least leave the steak with us so I could at least eat with my husband for our anniversary. They had one chance to make a great impression. Needless to say we will not be back. If we are going to go somewhere for a special occasion it will not be here. If you are going to spend $300+on dinner just go to Ruth Cris our some place that acts like you are important. The manager really messed that up!!! Customer service is her job make your customers happy!!!

Best French Onion Soup

The onion soup was fantastic; however, the french fries were limp and oily and the onion rings good and crisp but not outstanding. The filet was good but not exceptional compared to other restaurants of equal caliber. My husbands 16 oz steak had at least 6 ozs of inedible fat. But he said it was tasty. The server was pleasant and attentive. For the price I wld have expected perfection. Set my sights too high.

Daniel and Lisa were outstanding and delivered the utmost in service. Our steaks and oysters were sublime. We will definitely return.

Beautiful restaurant great food

I have been going to Malio's for several years. Invited so clients for a holiday lunch. My grouper sandwich was excellent. Unfortunately, the three clients that were with me ordered the crab meat pasta dish. The dish was very dry and bland. Had to ask for extra oil and garlic.

We went to Malio's for our anniversary. The food and service was excellent. The chef even sent us a special creme brule as a gift. Will definitely go back.

We booked on Open Table but I called the restaurant to let them know we were celebrating 2 special events. They put us at a booth at the bar in front of 2 TVs showing a football game. Not the first experience I had in mind. We asked to move and they made it seem like an inconvenience at first (and explained it was the holidays) but they did move us to a wonderful booth. Our dinner was fantastic- probably the best steak and sea bass we had ever had. But the server threw away our leftovers. She didn’t even ask. And when I mentioned it, she apologized but never offered to make it right. Then on the way out, we passed 11 open tables and 2 tables with a desert plate and “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate. It was our anniversary too, 3 people asked about it, but no dessert plate for us. The food was incredible but overall it was a frustrating experience.

Of course reservation, to seating was perfect. We were on time and were sat right away. I had requested a particular table and they were able to do that for us.
For the quality, which is excellent, the value is great. Service was exactly what I had wanted for this quiet birthday evening, excellent attentive and unobtrusive.
This is a place you need to experience.

Great food & service

As always, the food was delicious and the choices were plentiful. I continue to support Malio's because it's a place where you can get great food and enjoy an experience with your guests without having to shout over loud music. The ambiance is always a plus at Malio's.

Exceptional service and delicious food.

Food was excellent. Absolutely the most flavorful beef carpaccio I have ever had. Everything we had was wonderful and our server was knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. More expensive than some places, but definitely worth it.

Wait staff were perfect. Meal timing was perfect. Wine selection impressive. Quality of the food was very good. Only issue was I feel my dinner was under the warmer for a bit as the steak was past medium rare and closer to medium and the lobster tail was below proper temp. Lobster bisque was amazing.

Food was very good. Steak cooked perfectly. The jalapeño cream corn was fantastic. Waiter started out strong then at end wasn’t to be found and it was slow at that point. That’s the only reason for a star docked. I would recommend because the food was great.

The restaurant food was great. Our server treated us like we were just kids (me and my wife both young 30s). She seems unengaged and annoyed. Overall the place was loud for a more fancy dinner place. The steaks (delmonico and fillet) were great. The fillet seemed slightly more cooked than what my wife ordered but still tasted great. The calamari was bland. The gouda mac and cheese was amazing.

Excellent place for a good steak ! I had a 16 oz. Delmonico (Ribeye) which was done perfectly and my wife had the Prime Rib which she also said was "delicious" and "practically melted in her mouth." Prices were a little on "the high end" but not "outrageous." Service was Very Very Good. When a restaurant is owned and operated by the same family for 50 years (since 1969) this should be a good indication of how good it is.... If it wasn't so "Good." they wouldn't have lasted this long.
We would go back to Malio's in a New York Minute !

The Drinks and Dinners were excellent as always. The surprise Birthday dessert for my spouse was a particularly nice touch!!!!
