Food/steak was very good. Service was nice, but a bit slow. Night of a concert...noise was exceedingly loud throughout the meal. Parking very limited except valet.
The lobster bisque had an odd flavor, I did not eat (and I am not usually a picky eater). Waitress addressed the concern and offered other choices. In the end she deleted it from my bill. In addition to each ordering soup, friend and I ordered a wedge salad to share. It was served whole on a plate in the middle of the table. I waited and asked if it could be cut in half as it wasn't something to be cut with a butter knife. We both made it clear we were sharing salad and were surprised it was served whole. Salad was good and fresh, jasmine tea delicious.
Our servers were awesome. The lightning was too dark for my taste. The food was ok...my steak was cooked perfectly but needed more seasoning. The drinks were good. This is my second time dining at Malio’s and both tomes left me unimpressed.
Always an excellent experience, and one of our favorite go to spots for Friday night.
As always Malio's delivered on: on time reservation, excellence service, excellent menu both in quality, great options, and value. The food was fabulous. Our server was highly professional and knowledgeable. We were all very happy with out lunch and experience.
The food was delicious. Our server was great. The hostess at check in could use an attitude adjustment.
We had a pre-theater dinner. The food was excellent, and service was too. Unfortunately, there was construction going on outside, so our window view wasn’t that great....but at least we had the light of the window. Only negative was it was VERY COLD in there.....and it was a beautiful spring evening!
Great food and the service was outstanding the staff worked together and we never waited for a thing can’t wait to come back !!
We are fond of a sister restaurant to the north, Iavarone's, another exquisite Italian steak and pasta venue. We had a show at Tampa Theater later that evening and it was the perfect opportunity to visit other than for happy hour. Food, service and ambience were all superb. As we had to navigate a show, we only looked at the wine list and ordered by the glass. This is a nice wine list and worth exploring. Oh yes, we'll be back. The early reservation was no problem at all. OK, it is pricey, but the overall experience is delightful and the food is excellent (and they have Campari behind the bar and can make a Negroni, straight up). This could be serious competition for our all-time fave, Armani's, (another in a list of lovely Italian steak and pasta venues: I am detecting a theme...).
Very cold AC made our evening uncomfortable and food prematurely cold. We were seated in between 2 large grey concrete pillards overlooking a window where the view was blocked by a construction fence. The ambiance is unrefined and was overpriced for the overall quality of the restaurant. Water served was unfiltered and tasted chlorinated. Food was great and our server very attentive.
I took my wife there for her birthday and they knew this in advance and never acknowledged it when we got there or any time during the meal. The temp. in the room was cold so cold that our meal when served got cold within minutes of it getting to the table. We ordered prime rib which was so tough we could barely cut it with our steak knife. That combined with cold potatoes and spinach made the experience quite unpleasant.
The food was mediocre and the desert wasn’t very good at all
Had a fantastic lunch at Malio's. I have very sensitive and varied food allergies and they handled it like pros. Couldn't recommend more.
Everything was excellent except when you wanted to split a filet. The waiter told me me that there would be a extra charge for splitting the 10 oz fillet- but $20 was really over the top!!!
Great food and ambiance. Great for larger tables as well as some lovely intimate tables for 2. Highly recommend
Prior to attendeing I asked my girlfriend to marry me. As we entered we were greeted and seated immediately. The food was a little pricy but overall, great service, great food, and a great experience.
Incredible food, incredible service. The rack of lamb was divine ! Highly recommend!
Food was wonderful as always but the service was a little slow. One of my guests ordered soup and it came with his food.
The Delmonico was well prepared and delicious. The Potatoes Malio were outstanding and I highly recommend them. The sautéed spinach was good but could have been better flavored. Overall the dinner was very good and the portions were plentiful. We will definitely go again.
Beautiful decor, ambiance and great tasting food. I gave it only 4 stars because the food was heavily salted. I intend to return but I will request that the chef take it easy on the salt.
waiter was very friendly and service was good. the restaurant was too cold for comfort. ordered a soup and it was not hot, barely warm. soup was served without spoons. sat and waited for server to return with spoons. mashed potatoes not hot but still tasted good.
Service levels from the time you walked in the door until you left were outstanding. The food was excellent. Just like an old steakhouse used to be. Meats were tender and juicy and extremely flavorful. I would definitely go back again. Sides are big enough to share.
I found the steakhouse much better than the typical chains such as Ruth Chris and capital grill etc.
The reason for the 3 stars on ambience was that it was just a little too dark to read the menu. Otherwise we had a very good first time experience and would definitely eat here again
Enjoyed the shrimp and filet. Doesn't compare to Burns. But a good downtown pick.
Food was great. Service as friendly and attentive. We will certainly be back.
We are regular customers and was disappointed this time with the quality of the steak and the service. It definitely wasn't up to previous standards.
We also had requested a particular waitress and ended up with an average waiter with no explanation as to our request.
"Window" seat sounded like a good idea. However, my date and I were staring at a chain link fence as there was construction going on. Server was quick to dismiss my inquiries about the wine selection. Then took the wine list from me after we ordered wine by the glass . . . ? Do you not like it when customers want to spend more $? Maybe I asked too many questions. My experience wasn't awesome this go round, nonetheless I am a regular there and can tell you it's not the norm. Nicely made cocktails, unbelievable side dishes (gouda mac & mushrooms), and usually quick and attentive service make this one of my favorite spots to hit up during the week or weekend. This is still a 4 start place. I just had a 2 star visit for the first time.
we had tickets for Cirque du Soleil that evening and had only an hour to spare in order to get to the event in time to enjoy the pre-event experience. we let them know right away. They responded perfectly. We were able to get appetizers, salad and entree with 2 glasses of wine each and made the hour just in time to get to the event. The food was excellent, as always. I always recommend the Shrimp Theresa. It is an excellent appetizer of lightly breaded shrimp with a great lemon butter dipping sauce. we also had escargot, which is also excellent. Each of us had a separate dish - one 6oz filet mignon, which is just the right size after enjoying appetizers. It was cooked perfectly as requested. One crabmeat pasta - bits of crabmeat cooked with a red marinara sauce and served over linguine. And one grilled vegetable platter for the vegan in our group. It was a great mix of grilled veggies and again cooked perfectly. All done and eaten in the one hour time frame and we were able to get to the event and enjoyed the whole evening tremendously
We enjoyed our evening and had great service as well as food. We will be back!!
Noise level is a bit over the top. A lot of that has to do with the acoustics the restaurant was stuck with, but some of it has to do with the crowd restaurant seems to want to attract. Food was very good and creative twists to traditional steakhouse dishes...the creamed corn with jalapeno and red pepper was superb, creamed spinach a disappointment. Staff very accommodating. Prices are out of New York, which along with the noise was the big negative.
Just excellent food, delivered to the table by an excellent staff.
Daniel and Nicolas were our waiters. They made a great team and provided us with exceptional service. We are going to make Malio’s a regular place for dinner.
Fabulous.. food and service was wonderful!
Have been here many times before but this was a first for lunch. Great menu options, wonderful service. As always, I will be back!
One of my favorite restaurants. My wife and I often go before or after shows at the Straz. This time I had a business dinner with 3 out of towners. They all loved it and everything from carpaccio to salads to steak to fish to desserts were all excellent as usual.
We enjoyed the food and the service. It was a short walk to the Straz Center for a 730pm show.
Great meal, great location, great service!
Excellent as usual. Great food prepared perfectly. Service was attentive.
Great food. Great Service.
The food was excellent but the wait staff needs improvement. Our waitress was more interested in large groups than a table for two. The second waiter was better but I shouldn't have to have two waiters.
