Great little hidden away location on Kuhio in the thick of Waikiki. It was different from the norm, California meets Hawai’i surfer hang-out. The staff are exceptional and bring the place alive. Much preferred to the larger mega hotels. Feels like a home away from home. Check it out! Farm to Table restaurant.
Service was super slow. Must have been a half hour before drinks arrived, they sat on the bar. Food was lukewarm. Pizza came last but was cold. Asked to heat up and waited over a half hour while they ended up making a new one. Everyone else was completely done with their meal. Food was good.
Restaurant was way under staffed for brunch. Staff did the best they could.
The food and service were outstanding. Great variety on the menu!
This is one of my favorite restaurants on Oahu. It’s gourmet Hawaiian cuisine at its finest. I love that there’s paʻi ʻai and hōʻiʻo on the menu, that the products are locally sourced and organic when available. The menu has a great variety-something for everyone.
Very good food and service. Noise is a little loud b/c trying to play the live band across the bar. Really good place for a date or special occasion.
Delicious dinner and drinks. Very attentive and friendly service.
Always a favorite. The food is extraordinary, service with aloha, and the experience laced with authentic Hawaiian culture
I had the best cocktail in a long time. All the food we ordered was fantastic. Superb seafood and great flavours
Surprisingly good food and fab vibes 🍍
We had such a warm welcome and the most wonderful service. Great cocktails, beautiful food, cool surroundings and great ambience. Much aloha.
We went for brunch and ordered the surfjack breakfast with opah. The opah was fried just right and was very good. Hubby went for the Au' Mahina bowl (poke) and the pickled cremini mushrooms were to die for. Let's not forget the drinks we had - Smokey Maria and Fresh Juice Mimosa - Lilikoi for me. Def will go back again and again!
We ordered the family feast, and found it imaginative and delicious. Our server, Liz, guided us through the elements of the dinner, and never left us wanting for either food or drink or knowledge of what we were enjoying. We will be back!
Really beautiful. Loved the live music. Our waitress was really good.
Delicious interesting food! Loved the fish with mustard sauce over local sweet potato purée. Hipster palm-springs vibe.
Our dinner was amazing and we really loved the updates done, the architecture and the overall vibe. Very fun and a great experience.
We found this restaurant on Open Table and chose it because it was close to our hotel. Food was good, service was great and very energetic.
This is the first time since using Open Table I was not completely happy with the dinner. I had the opah, which was ok. My husband had the rigatoni, which was also ok. It was loud but we expected that from other reviews. Ours server, Mary Anne, was great.
Great food, great service. I enjoyed the creative cuisine offered.
This place used to be fantastic but it's gone a little downhill. Used to love the hehe salad but portion got smaller and flavors not balanced well. Maybe just an off night?
We had a very enjoyable evening here! The food was delicious and our server was attentive and knowledgeable. One of our favourite meals in Honolulu!
No wonder our former President loved dinning here. Possibly the most creative kitchen in Hawaii. Honestly you will never find similar dishes on Oahu. Also the best pickling on Oahu. Coupled with a super attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff you are truly in for a relaxing and stimulating treat.
Mahina & Suns is always on my list when I am in Oahu. Food and drinks are spot on, the opah and mon chong were delish in this recent visit. Having music by #mailesoul made it all the better!
What a lovely surprise - an eclectic restaurant housed on the ground floor of a local hotel. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. Anyone who can make a kale salad absolutely mouth watering is a genius!
Great food and great service. Enjoyed the Baquets in beet sauce and pork pate as starters. Main courses were delicious, but was sad there was no fresh fish that day for the group feast. Always great
Fantastic fresh seafood. Wonderful service in a fun retro-60’s setting
Dined here based on the good reviews and an article we read in a magazine. Crazy ambiance as the restaurant is right next to an indoor swimming pool. Very limited menu. We were two people and we both really didn't enjoy our entrees of opah (moonfish) and monchong (sickle pomfret). The appetizer of sweet land farm chevre beignets was nice but nothing special. Service was just okay too. Very disappointed.
Grilled octopus with ricotta- what a winning combination. Delicious meal and fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Had a business meeting at 11am. Staff was nice to put us in a space where we could have a bit of privacy (corner table) and could hear one another.
We were one of the first people there for lunch so we didnt' have to fight a lunch crowd. It was very pleasant.
Food is very creative and delicious, and the hotel has a cool vibe. Service however was spotty
Great atmosphere, especially if you are seated overlooking the hotel’s pool, taking full advantage of the open-air setting. The restaurant’s sustainably-fished seafood is excellent - we tried both the monchong and opah. The monchong was light, flaky, yet flavorful. The opah was meaty, yet tender with an amazing bacon-infused broth. Oh, I almost forgot the cocktails - excellent. A nice departure from the ubiquitous tiki-style tropical drinks you’ll find at most other area bars, but still masterfully incorporating local fruits and other ingredients. Service was very good. Our waitress, Jacqui, was very friendly and attentive with the two of us despite also serving a very large party next to us.
We made a reservation for my daughters 20th birthday, 3 weeks in advance. The reservation was at 6:30 party of 6. When we arrived, about 6:25 the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait. When we were seated, the table wasn’t in the restaurant, it was in the bar/lounge closer to the pool entrance. Needless to say our table sucked.
The food was REALLY great!
Fried whole fish - delicious!!
Frustrating for the money we spent on the dinner and the table was so bad. That would be the reason I wouldn’t go again.
Love the healthy, market driven food. Our server Maryanne makes the experience even better!!!!!!!
Great food, great service, just right for a good dinner with friends.
Wonderful brunch. Waffle, burrito and Egg Sammie are delicious!
Our friendly server was so welcoming and informative and the tuna and opah were wonderful. The live music was icing on the cake...a jazzy Sinatra and John Legend mix
We had a great night. Amazing food! There was a guy singing and playing guitar. Good service. Not crowded on a Wednesday night.
Dinner was amazing. We started with chèvre beignets for a savory delicious start. We both had the smoked opah chowder which was absolutely delicious. Tender morsels of smoked opah made the soup memorable. I had the Kauai shrimp risotto. The succulent shrimp made the tasty risotto a dish I will go back for. My husband had the catch of the day, fresh Opah with a whole grain mustard topping that I got to try with tender braised local cabbage. Desserts were delicious as well. They have a dark chocolate mochi that’s unreal ono and their butterscotch pudding with a cookie crumble made a perfect ending to our already flawless meal. Heidi was our server and she’s awesome. We will be back!
