The food has not a good flavor. We have pasta with Alfredo sauce and chicken, and the chicken was old it was so disgusting. The service is good but the food NOT so good. It was my first time and my last!
Outstanding food, service, surprising no wait on Easter.
I have loved Maggianos long before they made it to Costa Mesa, had always made my way to the place in Chicago when I traveled there.
Unfortunately the dishes have changed in quality in recent years.
I had eggplant parmesan and felt I was treating a lot of sauce soaked breading, tasted some cheese but didn't see any of it. I didn't complain as I was with someone who would have been very uncomfortable if I had.
The bread was a true treat in the past, the portions keep getting smaller and no longer any any variety as it had in the past.
We don't get here as often as when we did when the kids were still at home. But always nice to get back to Maggianos. Sat us right when we arrived. The food is as good as always. Servings are more than enough and the take-home pasta is a bonus. Our waiter and the food runners were always curteous and quick. Ask for more bread, its there. Very nice meal.
It was Easter and while it was very busy, the service and food were excellent!
This visit took 3 hours.
The dishes came out in bits and pieces. Since this day had a limited menu, we should have been in and out in 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.
The price was ridiculous when you consider that pasta is THE LEAST EXPENSIVE FOOD TO MAKE, and the entrees with meat had very little meat. For 27.99 per person we should have had a steak option.
Dessert which took 45 minutes, was inedible since it had alcohol in it. The menu should clearly state this as clearly as if you were providing a warning for peanut allergies. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for a replacement dessert.
We had to ask for water many, many, many times before anyone finally showed up to refill our glasses.
The only table they would provide us was next to the toilets. We had a clear view of the bathroom interiors throughout our entire, 3 hour meal.
This visit was extremely disappointing and an embarrassment.
It was a bit chaotic on Easter. We were given one main without all the others, and we had ordered gluten free pasta and was brought regular pasta. We noticed other tables having similar problems. I think they were just too crowded to keep things right.
Yummy great service
Prince Edward Island muscles with tomato sauce, salad. Main courses, chicken parmigiana, linguine and clams, Tuacan chicken and shrimp with Ziti. Absolutely fabulous!!!!
As always, the food was amazing, but, what really distinguished this meal was the exemplary service considering the huge Easter crowds. Sasha worked so hard to ensure that, despite the fact that he probably had more than a few extra tables that day, our experience was not marred by it, and that we were comfortable, well-fed, and not rushed. We truly appreciated the extra effort and the result was a truly memorable meal that we won't soon forget.
Excellent as usual! Did miss the take home option, but more than enough food for doggybag seconds. Thank-you for an excellent afternoon!
Great meal and deal for Easter
Tala was amazing! Recommended the mushroom raviolis & they were the best! Service was great.
Celebrated Easter brunch! The have a selection of fixed menu only. Wife and I enjoyed eating here. Food was delicious.
This visit was for Easter Brunch. We go every year for Thanksgiving and this recent visit was disappointing. We arrived 20 minutes before they opened. We let them know we had a reservation. They made us wait until other parties were seated. When asked what the hold up was (we were a party of 2) they said they were seating people who had reservations. I let them know we had a reservation. That did not help. We had to wait. When we were finally seated, we waited about 30 minutes while other tables were greeted and drinks served. It was only after we asked to see our server that she came to our table. When she arrived, we realized she had seen us but ignored our table. Management did make sure every thing was good afterward. We were presented with a $10 gift card. It was appreciated but it doesn’t make us want to go back again. This restaurant used to be a favorite of ours but I’m not sure we will return.
As always the food was exceptional. Quite noisy but it was Saturday night so it’s expected. Everyone is always very prompt to our requests. One of our favorite places.
Dinner after the show
Amazing! Server was great! Food was great! Can’t complain
Maggiano's was the perfect place to meet with family, have a good meal, excellent service and wonderful ambiance. We were catching up with each other's lives and were never made to feel like we needed to vacate our table. Our server kept filling up our water glasses and told us to take our time. We will meet there again soon.
The food was excellent. Portion size was as expected
Dinner after a busy day of shopping. It was a late dinner, but we were able to get a reservation quickly and were seated promptly for a Friday night. We ordered the shrimp and pepperoni orrechiette which was perfect for two, and split a side spinach salad and a side of crispy vesuvio potatoes. The entrée was mildly spicy, but very flavorful! We will order again. Sasha was a very patient waiter, quickly applied my discount when I pointed it out, but failed be bring me my coin change, only brought the bill change, so I deducted that from my tip.
Service was great, food was great. Quick seating and everything went very well.
Good pasta/Italian place. The vibe is a mix of pretentious and smell of cheap. I love the one today and take one for tomorrow or whatever you call it. The tables are so close together that it's not comfortable to walk. Some of the waiters are overbearing. The bread is yummy. I love eggplant parmesan. Desserts are good especially if you try the sampler. It is totally worth it.
Everything was absolutely delicious our waiter was wonderful we have theater tickets and they got us served and out with plenty of time will definitely be back
Delicious food & great service. Very friendly staff & great atmosphere
It was great. 2 of us had the buy one pasta get one free to take home. My husband chose the lasagna that we enjoyed the following day with a light salad and bottle of Pinot Noir. What a terrific idea. Thank you Maggiano’s. We will be back. 👍
...Well, usually I have a pretty good experience with this venue at any time...but this time, the quite professional waitress, who took care of our table, was training a new staff as taking care of SO MANY tables, so we had to wait for a long time to place our order, having our water. Our foods came to our table pretty quickly...yet I couldn't eat it for a while without a spoon, which I was asking for a long time and even went to look for a staff to help me. It was quite inconvenient as a customer although I fully understood the insider situation, unfortunately... Hope we can have some better or 'decent' (...at least) experience at our next visit.
Everyone was welcoming. Our waitress was very informative. Our visit was very pleasant.
Our server was Wendy, she is awesome, excellent service !!
Maggiano's South Coast Plaza is my "Go To" restaurant when meeting family and friends. The meals are always served to the appropriate temperature, delicious, plenteous and in a proper manner. We are never hurried but left to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
Just a night out with my husband. We shared a plate of the chicken piccata and side italian salad. It was all wonderful and just right for us. Our waiter was nice and personable.
Food was great as usual, although the tilapia is a bit fishy. Maggiano’s salad is my favorite! We had the family dinner package. They made me raspberry lemon drop martini on request which I appreciated since it’s not on the drinks menu.
Lastly, Josh did a great job being our server! He was quite attentive and funny but not overwhelming or hovering us :-) Just perfect!
We wish we could come more often but we live in Long Beach and you are the closest one. Although it’s not that far, really!
(Yes we have the same name)
We keep going back, because I do like their food. However, going before a show at Segerstrom is an absolute mad house. We waited 20 minutes for a table with a reservation and 10 more minutes for a server to show up at the table. When the food came, I asked for some crushed hot pepper, and the staff member quickly put the black pepper grinder from the table in front of me and then sped off before I could catch him. My eggplant was barely warm, but no one ever came by during the meal to see if everything was ok. I complained to the server when she finally brought the check and she said she would take it off the bill, which she did not. I had to go try and find a manager. The noise level is awful, and the staff just can’t keep up. The last time we came here, my ravioli was undercooked. No more! We will find other places to dine from now on.
Very good food, service, and value.
As usual the experience at Maggianos was 5-star. A couple ideas to make it better; we asked for our breadbasket to be refilled twice and it never was refilled. The noise level is pretty high.
These criticisms will not prevent our return.
The restaurant was busy, but the service we received was not what I expected. We received lukewarm water. Had to ask for bread, Parmesan cheese, and a number of other things that should have been provided.
our waiter and his assistant were the greatest duo. They were the best at bring our food and suggesting items to order. The best I have had in many years. Sasha and ette enhance the reason to come again.
This was a Birthday celebration for 2 people. There were 7 guests present. I drove over 100 miles to get there. They had no reservation listed for us. I made these reservations several weeks open thru Open Table. Everyone ordered their food and said it was good. I ordered Entree size Italian Salad and added chicken at an extra charge. When the salad arrived there was not visible signs of chicken . I pointed this out to the server. The server finally found a little piece and said..Oh there's some chicken. I would have appreciated having enough chicken to have made it worth while. This was my complete entree. Being a Diabetic the protein is very important. I was annoyed and disappointed. The server should have taken care of this problem but there was no offer at all. For an additional $7.00 I could have had the Denver steak!! I paid over $200 for this luncheon. I stopped on the way home and bought some chicken McNuggets at McDonalds. Shame on Maggianos. They should have made this order right. I may consider another venue next celebration.
A wonderful experience with a fantastic wait staff.
