Food was fantastic. Unfortunately, the heater in the courtyard near us stopped and no one dealt with it. We were pretty cold during most of the meal. Other outside diners had heaters near them. Not sure why the staff didn't bother asking about us or moving another heater so we could be warm. It was a really big oversight.

Magdalena has always been one of our favorite Baltimore restaurants. In fact I celebrated my 50th birthday there with 6 friends. While I know Covid has been tough to recover from, the food was not up to their standards. My husbands duck was overcooked and came with nothing on the plate as far as color. A side of red cabbage or something to make the plate more appetizing. The side of carrots were undercooked and tough. My scallops were cooked to perfection but the dish just was just a bit of an odd combination. The kimchi cabbage was tough and undercooked. We will be back as our waiter and service were great and hopefully it will be back to its better days!
So good to be back inside this restaurant. Everyone put their best foot forward and made our dining experience a great one. The caviar and leg of lamb were fantastic. Can't wait to return.
The food was delicious though perhaps a wee bit (10% maybe) overpriced. The service, however, makes up for it tenfold. Everyone was kind and attentive, though not in an annoying way. The experience was first, the food second (though still quite good).
Magdalena in its previous form was one of our favorites. Now reinvented we have been there twice separated by COVID shutdown and we like the new format which while less formal is actually more intimate. The staff and service are outstanding and the food excellent. The wine list is deep and excellent and there are a number of good choices in the $50-$100 range but be careful, some of the markups are 2.5 to 3X retail. In summary, perhaps our favorite upscale restaurant in Bmore, still.

I wish I would have come to this restaurant before it reopened. I missed out on all the French cuisine and I went in with hopes that it wouldn't matter but I think it made a huge difference. The only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the sticky toffee pudding. It was my first time I had that and it was great. I also feel like their should be a chef tasting table for French dishes though!
This was our first time at Magdalena. I never went before when it was a bit "fancier," but we absolutely loved the remodel. It is fresh and classy, without being pretentious. Service was on point and every item we ordered was phenomenal. This will 100% be a place we bring friends and out of town guest. So charming and wonderful.
P.S. Get the goat cheese ravioli...it was phenomenal.
New menu with superb appetizers and interesting blend of entrees (from Cheeseburger to Duck for two). I miss the ambience of the old Magdalena's. Colorful painted walls are now a sterile white. Service great as always.

Service and dinner was excellent. Love the new iteration of Magdalena! We were there to celebrate both our anniversary and my birthday. We were recognized by one of staff from a previous visit so she sent out some glasses of champagne on the house, very nice touch! Courtyard is beautiful and spacious and you can tell they are taking all precautions during this pandemic. Will absolutely be back! 10/10

I was very disappointed with our dinner on Saturday. This new concept of "Modern Maryland Bistro" was anything but bistro-like.
Magdalena was perfect before. Now, I won't be going back anytime soon.
Was excited to try the Bistro menu at the Magdalena and as soon as the hotel reopened made a reservation. It was a party of four and two of us started with the Maryland Han and two with the Frito Misto.. all very good!
For Entrees three of the party went for the British Fish & Chips and one had the Chicken & Morel pie from the specials. We all agreed the fish was delicious but disappointed with the ‘chips’ .. we thought we’d be getting British style home cooked chips but instead they were just well done fries! Could of done better!
The pie did not come with any sides and would of been mice if the server pointed this out so we could of ordered side dishes!
The black bass chef's special was delightful. The arugula salad added just enough spice to the entrees that both of us enjoyed. The oysters on the half shell were cleanly shucked. The desserts were good but not special. (rocky road sundae & berry crumble).
Love this restaurant and the new approach! We came here to celebrate our recent wedding and were not disappointed!

My best friend and I love to go out to eat and really treat ourselves. This dinner was exactly what we needed, especially with everything going on. Every drink was amazing, everything we ate was perfect, the staff was SO nice, and it was just a beautiful experience overall. They also have a great outdoor seating option if you prefer that! Will 100% come again.

The food and service were excellent. We appreciated the strict observance of Covid space precautions. My fish dish - black bass with small beans and pickled fennel was the best thing I have eaten in a long time. Flavorful but not too rich. I loved it.
Service as always was outstanding. Staff is top notch, polite, respectful and professional. We are regulars at Magdalena’s and unfortunately this dining experience was slightly underwhelming as far as food was concerned. Our Hamachi fish appetizer was slightly fishy, the octopus app was very small and sea bass entree was flavorless. We suppose the chef was not on his game that evening. The desserts were amazingly good. We’ll definitely return regardless.
