This atmosphere of this restaurant is lovely, except if you are seated in the back corner of the patio near the service station, which is where we were. Not a great spot for a fine-dining experience. While the braised short ribs were lovely, the side of $9 carrots I ordered were not cooked well. Even so, dinner was overall delicious. However, our primary server was not that kind or attentive. He seemed to resent his job, which I can understand, as I once worked in the restaurant business. But his attitude was cold and unwelcoming. It took away from the experience.

I had the brisket sandwich and my husband had the chili cheeseburger. Both were very good. Was a little disappointed that it was only brunch menu and not lunch menu we had researched on line but went back and looked and they did advertise brunch until 2 on Saturdays.

We were so disappointed with our experience. We waited 90 minutes for our food as the restaurant seemed understaffed. My duck dish was good but my friend’s barramundi portion was small and when we pointed it out to the manager she got defensive and said all portions were the same size. We saw other plates of food. They were not the same size. We felt our food was overpriced for what we received. We sat inside where atmosphere was sadly lacking. What a shame. We wanted this to be better!

Soup was served lukewarm and my friend's hamburger was rare instead of medium -which would have been too rare for me to eat but my friend ate it anyway. Server was pleasant and ambience was fine but there was a big crowd that day from probably a conference so it got loud. However, we were warned in advance and given a chance to choose a table away from the crowd. I have had much better meals and enjoyed the patio in the past but it was closed.

This is our monthly and special occasions treat! Luminaria never fails to be a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter, Juan, is one of the most professional and fine waiters in the business. He always makes us feel welcomed and is incredibly attentive even when the restaurant is filled to the brim. The food here is superb, beautifully presented and delicious! Try the southwestern Caesar if it's on the menu when you go or the pork belly appetizer. Hard to find a less than perfect item on the menu, though.

Arrived 9/9/23 at 6:00 p.m. for dinner. Had eaten at Luminaria a few years before & it was wonderful. Ordered wine from the waitress & and asked her to come back shortly to place our order. It was about an hour before the waitress came back to take our order. Our order finally arrived about 8:00 after our complaining. The manager seemed in a tizzy & told us the kitchen was in chaos & the chef had been late from a chili cookoff. Both meals were unacceptable & I asked the manager to try to cut my $52.00 steak. He said that was not for him to do, that was for the chef. Took the steak to the chef and came back offering a free dessert from the chef. That is when we left. What a total disappointment!

Disappointed. Understaffed so everyone was seated outside and the service was slow. Menu was confusing with a “chef’s special” insert placed inside the regular menu which replaced some of the similar items on the regular menu which were no longer available. Everything I wanted was not available even though they were still on the menu… so when I tried to order and was redirected, it was frustrating to say the least. Dessert was good.

Very beautiful patio in a great location, service was wonderful. The food was okay- surprising for the cost here. We had an appetizer of gnocchi that tasted like plain pasta in some tomato-y water. Caesar salad was delicious, pork chop was good but not great. Would go back for drinks and salads, but not for a full meal.

Although we normally enjoy Luminaria, this time we were not so pleased. We were there for breakfast and waited about fifty minutes to be served some pastries, and then another half hour to be served our courses. Eggs Florentine were awful, as the poached eggs were all running, whites were kind of raw. We sent that back and ordered French toast instead, after yet another wait they came undercooked. The two Huevos Rancheros were not as enjoyable, they changed the soft fried tortillas for crispy ones, not very successful. However, the pastries, although very long, were good. So no cheers for the kitchen, but our waiter Carlos cheerful and kind service compensated a bit!

My party of four arrived for our table reservation at 6:45 on a Wednesday night, dining room is empty, patio had several tables. This is the first visit to Luminaria and I find it odd that it is empty when our previous nights visits to other local restaurants are filled to capacity at the same reservation time. Once settled in, the server brought our wine, took our orders and said she would be right back with a bread basket. 40 minutes went by without anyone coming to our table. Until we flagged down the busboy and asked for bread, he told us they were out of bread and "they" were getting some. Oh boy are we in trouble. The salads arrived shortly after with a basket of one cold bread roll and crackers! The duck breast ceased overcooked, dry and tasteless, the NY steak and the wild boar were excellent and the chicken was ok but the crispy skin was not edible. The restaurant never filled up and was obviously not up to par. The waitress bought a dessert for the table but the damage was done.

Indian taco was the most delicious we’ve ever had. The bread was nice and crisp and the steak in the Indian taco was tender and lean. Our Navajo friend with us said it was also the best Indian taco he’s ever had.

Serious confusion over which server was to handle our table: eventually 2 each brought milk for coffee. Very slow for anyone to follow up after a 3rd provided water. Some hot plates too salty. Not quite as good as what we’re used to in this very pleasant outdoor dining area.
