Luminaria Restaurant & Patio
During the warmer months, dine outdoors on the rustic wood patio adjacent to the world-renowned Loretto Chapel. The outside patio is a beautiful setting that seems to just everything taste even better.
Food was not very warm. Potatoes mix was very good.
Wonderful dinner. Very knowledgeable waiter. Donut shaped churros are a must
We had the patio table with a view and private. Excellent service and the scallops were superb. We started sharing the truffle fries. Wow. Too generous a portion but we ate it all
We had a really lovely evening
We love this patio. It is the prettiest in Santa Fe. The food is very good and not overpriced. The service friendly and fast. Plus you can hear the bells from the nearby church.
Very much enjoyed the pancakes. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We sat in an intimate, cozy and quiet booth. This was a very pleasant brunch experience.
It was beautiful & peaceful. We enjoyed our breakfast outside weather was great and so was the service.
Very nice Cristal was very sweet! The food is awesome! Great patio! Highly recommend!!!
We had a reservation for dinner the night before (patio seating outdoors). The restaurant cancelled it because of threatened showers. That necessitated we eat at another restaurant with patio seating outdoors. We rescheduled for breakfast the following morning at Luminaria. The setting was lovely, the service wonderful, the menu decent, the prices competitive, but the refrigeration truck parked adjacent to the patio serenaded us during our entire meal with a continuous, monotonous, crescendo-decrescendo drone from it's refrigeration unit and the trucks diesel engine. Pretty disconcerting...
Amazing experience, great ambience, delicious food.
The menu was small but the quality of the food was very good.
The receptionist was warm and professional. Our waiter not so much. He could use some extra training in making the guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
Location is pleasant, and the staff gave us the seating we desired by the window. We will come back but if given the same waiter, will likely ask to get someone else.
We had dinner on the patio in early evening. Service was outstanding, food and drinks were delicious, and the ambience was wonderful.
It was a fabulous evening in every way to celebrate out anniversary.
They brought steak on the watermelon salad instead of shrimp.
They eventually brought the order back w shrimp BUT then charged for both the steak and shrimp!! Crooks.
And only 2 VERY small pieces of watermelon in the salad.
Their quality control seems non-existent.
Unfortunately there was a table of three that were drunk and loud and abusive to some other guests. Not the restaurants fault however the restaurant failed to respond or contain which was a failure. It ruined any chance of enjoying the meal. Also had reserved patio and they closed patio but failed to advise guests so when you arrive you take a chance of whether seats and may be forced to eat i side. Food was over cooked and service spotty. Overall would not go out of my way to eat here.
Delicious brunch in a lovely setting
Carlos was superb!
Lovely evening there with excellent food & wine.
watermelon salad, luminaria dessert outstanding
Good choice of food for lunch. Service was very good with someone at the table regularly to refill water and ask if we needed anything. A very nice outdoor area. Would highly recommend.
Dinner and service were excellent. The patio was pleasant with a nice view of the plaza market. The church bells chimed and the conversation with our server was engaging. Definitely would go back!
Good food, helpful staff, waiter just okay, beautiful outdoor dining area.
Always a pleasure to enjoy the Luminaria restaurant. Food is very god with nice presentation.
Food and service were great. Would definitely go back
We love going there for lunch and brunch and hope they continue lunch throughout Winter.
Beautiful setting, great food, but LONG wait for the food to come out of the kitchen. I know we're not supposed to complain, but just a heads up to not come here for a quick lunch.
Left after waiting 1 hour for lunch food that never came out from the kitchen.
Waitress lied to us 3 times and said our food was coming right up. Walked out hungry and disappointed. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. The negative reviews are all accurate.
Luminaria was great. We had dinner there on our last night in Santa Fe and had been there many times before. The setting is beautiful and all the courses were delicious. Service was good though some staff seemed a little inexperienced, but that's understandable in the time of Covid.
Took friends from out of town to Saturday brunch. Perfect meal and experience. Beautiful Santa Fe day so good to eat outside. Food and drinks were both delicious.
My friend and I both firget to go to Luminaria but love it when we go!
This is one of our favorite restaurants for when we visit Santa Fe. Whether for dinner or any meal of the day, it's always a pleasure.
Outstanding food and wine list and a great value to boot
The salad I had was very plain- mostly field greens and sparse on the the other vegetables. I added steak and only four bite size pieces were on the salad. French fries from one of the other guests’ plate were delicious.
We are an interracial couple and were guests at the hotel attached to this restaurant. I mention this because Google has several reviews with similar experiences shared by people of color and LGBTQ folks. Showed up for lunch without a reservation because Open Table showed many openings. Only two tables occupied but hostess, Julia, said they were booked and had no opening for lunch at any time. So we got on Open Table and made a reservation and then showed it to her. She said “It’s not for 15 minutes so you’ll have to sit here and wait.”. Again, dozens of empty tables. When we protested she said “Well, since you’re going to be difficult, just seat yourselves, refusing to give us a menu..” Such an ugly incident especially when we were spending thousands of dollars at their hotel and spa, but money can’t buy acceptance
We had a 1:45 reservation time and arrived in town early. We asked the seating hostess if she could accommodate us as we saw most of the tables empty and the open table app indicated earlier reservations were available. She pointedly declined our request stating that we had to stick with our time slot. When we arrived back at our reserved time, we found the hostess had seated some else under our name. However, we were seated immediately and the patio was indeed lovely. We waited 10 minutes for water and another 30 for a fruit platter. We were completely ignored by staff and never received part of our order. While the food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful, the service left us very disappointed and thirsty. Sad.
Our server was excellent! The tamale sauce was amazing! We had never tasted anything like it before and we're native New Mexicans. We will be back for sure!
Eggs Benedict was not very good. Eggs were small and white not fully cooked. Meat thin and tough. Overall not a very good brunch.
