Best restaurant in the U.S.
Amazing food & cocktails & very friendly staff !
We’re gonna miss this magical place so much.
The food was excellent as are the recipes in the Lucques cookbook. The server was efficient and well versed in the menu items but became distant when we objected to the added 4% surcharge for the staff's health insurance. Although the restaurant was quick to remove it, it left a "bad taste" in what otherwise would have been a 5 star experience, Our feeling was that it is the responsibility of the employer to underwrite or contribute to the health insurance costs of its employees, not the dining public.
Excellent meal and service. Made a very successful birthday dinner.
Delicious food, service great.Expensive but worth it!
Lovely setting, impeccable food. A real LA classic.
The baramundi fish was delicious but there were too many flavors and too much citrus. It was hard to find the fish. The appetizer would have been superb but the artichokes were inedible -- too tough and not cut off where it they should have been.
Overall, it was very good, but each dish had too many flavors, especially the fish.
Considering how incredible I've found most meals there, I was, sadly, disappointed.
Food not very good; not the ambiance we expected . . Expensive
I had not been here in 15 years and remember it being very good. The food was average for a fine dining restaurant (nothing memorable or exceptionable). The service was quite good, although you could tell they were trying to turn the table for a second seating. Pretty expensive, which I don't mind paying if it's worth it. It's not. I like to dine for hours and really enjoy a variety of food and wine. This is not a real foodie restaurant. You eat and leave. Skip it. No longer on my top list.
I come every time I am in LA but I remarked tonight that the food had a blandness. I took the servers rec of pear salad and Salmon entree and they were both average
Loved this place! The patio is beautiful, no direct sun but plenty of light! The food was perfect and I loved the presentation. Definitely planning to go back!
disappointing - suzanne goin does a nice job but the rest is not up to par-
This place never disappoints. Always a terrific experience.
A wonderful evening, but Lucques is always wonderful, although this night has a festive quality with everyone in a celebratory mood.
As always Lucques was a great experience. This was my 7th time at their annual Cassoulet night in the last 8 years.
Annual cassoulet night... always amazing. Love this restaurant.
Lucques is my new go to restaurant. Love the special Sunday Suppers. Good value for the money. Love the ambience and the consistently good food and delicious vodka gimlet. Also like the vibe of the other diners. Everyone seems so relaxed and happy. My friends and I always feel relaxed and at home.
Cassoulet Night--always extraordinary. We brought my husband's sister, visiting from New York, with us; she loves Lucques but had never happened to visit us at the right time for Cassoulet Night. What a treat for all of us! The cassoulet seemed even better--and lighter?--than usual (although they swore it was exactly the same recipe); the slab of St. Augur (blue cheese) in the salad was...well, let's just say I'll be tasting it in my dreams for months to come; the crème caramel was perfect.
The food was amazing - this is our third visit and Lucques has been solid every time!!! Cannot recommend this place enough!
Wonderful dinner
We had a lovely lunch in the back room, which is covered but has trees and vines growing! The gnocchi was a standout, lighter and fluffier than any I have ever had. It was nice to have some vegan choices, and the falafel burger was very good as well. they bake their own bread, which is phenomenal. We will be back!
Heaters made it too hot
Disappointing experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we left the restaurant. The hostess had a hostile and unfriendly attitude, we did not feel welcome. The waiter was absent most of the time, and when he did appear at our table, he was disinterested in serving us and seemed checked out. Much too pricey a restaurant for this kind of lackluster experience.
Beautiful outdoor space. Savory salmon lunch. Attentive and friendly service. Quiet enough for a deep conversation. Fairly priced. I'll be back soon
Fabulous in all respects... I will miss the experience now that they are closing.
Miss it so so much
Everything was great except the tables are too close to each other. It’s hard to have a private conversation.
This is a lovely restaurant with wonderful food but our experience this time was marred by sitting next to a table where the gentleman spoke loudly enough we couldn't help hearing the conversation which was all about the woman who left him. The back room is more spaciou and a better spot to dine.
The problem with Lucques is that it is so extraordinary and such a special place I would like to dine there more
Regularly...but then I would be at a loss for the extra-special
Place to celebrate special occasions!
Went last Friday for Valentines day special. Outside of the desert and caviar blinis as starter, food was ok but not at all where it should have been for that price. Service was particularly terrible. For exemple servers thought it could be normal to rush us and push next plate even when previous ones were not done. We took wine pairing and saw the somelier once (out of 6 different wines). All in all it felt that place is running on its reputation and it sounds to me now they don't deserve it. Very disapointed.
Superb as always. It’s our “go to” when we are in Los Angeles
Don't use OpenTable. Can't remove it from internet connection afterward.
Don’t sleep on the Negroni! Alas, what a sad thing to hear: Lucques is closed forever. Hopefully you didn't miss your chance.
Always great
All very delicious but especially the braised short ribs
An excellent meal with the only downside being we were asked to sit on a sofa next to a drafty doorway until our entire party of five assembled. Three of us arrived a couple of minutes before the other two and instead of showing us to our seats, we were told to wait on the couch and once we settled there were hustled to buy drinks. I thought that extremely bad form for a fine, upscale restaurant. The meal itself was exquisite and the waiter was attentive and knowledgable. Curiously, we would have been much more likely to buy a drink while waiting had we been at our table. Balancing a wine glass while sitting on a couch is more of a challenge than having that same glass on a stable table in front of you.
Business meeting
Good food, good vibe, great waiter and somelier.
We always go for our anniversary and love it! We also love the Sunday suppers. Never a bad meal.
Restaurant seemed to be short staffed for lunch.
