This was our second time at Lucky's and certainly won't be the last. Excellent food (order the Caesar Salad!), knowledgeable wait-staff, expansive bar, and cozy surroundings. What’s not to love!
Everything was fantastic. 5th annual couples Christmas Shopping weekend. Traveled from 2 hours away. 3 couples. All very experienced diners with high degree of food IQ. 2 of the gentleman work in the specialty food industry and 2 of the individuals have worked in the fine dining environment. Walking distance from Hotel Roanoke. Jeremiah, our server, was passionate, knowledgeable and engaging. Made some great craft cocktails recommendations. Apps we tried consisted of charred brussel sprouts with bacon, roasted marrow bones, mussels, and the best raw oysters I’ve ever eaten. 3 varieties. Very fresh. Also had the blistered shoshito peppers which seem to have become popular at various dining establishments over 2018. They were okay, but nothing special. Entrees included ribeyes, scallops, pork shoulder and striped bass. Bass was underwhelming, but everything else was prepared to perfection. Pricey, but it’s hard to find great food, impeccable service , and ambiance in a single dining experience. Lucky exceeded the mark!
This was our second time at Lucky and we went another couple. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions on both drinks and entrée choices. They have a great variety in their drink menu and the bartenders are top notch. When the food came the table was quiet because we all were thoroughly enjoying the delicious food. We each got something different and each were blown away — the scallops were fantastic, the pork shoulder was amazing, the lamb was delicious the fried chicken is a classic comfort dish.
Lucky was a treat for 5 of us who came from Louisville,ky for a wedding later in the weekend. The food was outstanding and the service was equally excellent. We’d definitely recommend it to others.
We enjoyed our night out at Lucky. Our waiter, Jeremiah was outstanding and friendly. Food was unique and our Virginia sourced oysters were wonderful. If you are a bourbon fan I highly suggest getting a cube with your bourbon. It takes sipping to a new level and flavor.
Excellent waiter. Very fun, knowledge, great sales approach.
Interesting menu. Would not be expected . Each of our meals was enjoyed and value priced. Gets a bit noisy after 7:30
Was rushed by server at 9pm with a full restaurant. Excellent cocktails. Scallops we’re a touch under cooked.
Great night at great place 5+ review in every aspect! Our first time there while visiting Roanoke and we will definitely be back again.
Fantastic Dinner. Great Ambience. Friendly Service.
Not knowing much about Roanoke, I was looking for a restaurant near the Hampton Inn. I made reservations about a week ahead of time, and so glad I did. My friend and I both had the scallops which were divine. Next time I come to Roanoke, I will certainly eat here again.
Lucky is always amazing. Great food. Awesome bartenders. Perfect atmosphere!!
Great Birthday Dinner!
Our DIL requested Lucky for her birthday dinner and we were all very pleased with her choice. We had not been there for some time and were very impressed. We enjoyed delicious cocktails before dinner - and for appetizers we ordered mussels (yum) and bread plate - both excellent. Entrees were scallops, lamb shank and pork shoulder - all great selections. Our table was outside the main room which suited us very well as it is a bit quieter than the bar side of the restaurant. Service was efficient and not hovering.
We will definitely be back to Lucky again soon.
Great food and quaint place. Service was excellent along with drinks and food. I love the atmosphere and bar area
From the cocktails to dinner it was excellent. Whitney was our server and she was very engaging and professional
Very much enjoyed our dinner at Lucky. Our waitress was one of a kind in terms of personality, knowledge of food and fantastic service. She made the night so much better. Food was great, uniquely paired with sides and options. Would definitely return when in Roanoke.
I have entertained several for business and have made a very good impression. Thank you.
Came here for our first wedding anniversary and had an unmatched dining experience. Beyond the food, which was incredible down to the last bite, the service is what really through the experience to the next level. Jeremiah was our server and could not have been more kind and observant. The gentleman who sat us was also so kind, going into great detail about some of the offerings of the evening. We sat for 2 hours and never felt rushed. Can't wait to return on the next special occasion.
Overpriced with mediocre food. Expensive watered down cocktails. If you are going to spend the money I would have rather gone to Frankie Roland's
Our son is home from the Navy. We wanted to take him somewhere good. He has been to many wonderful restaurants in his travels. We needed to find a “worthy” dining experience here. The signature cocktails really add to the experience. He thoroughly enjoyed the lamb while his dad had the ribeye and I stick with the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! We shared our meals after a couple of appetizers of oysters and a cheese board.
Always a wonderful experience at Lucky’s!
This is always one of my favorite places to eat when I am in Roanoke.
Great food, drinks and service! Fried brussel sprouts were amazing, as well as my pork shoulder and grits! Entrees seem appropriately priced, however drinks are a little on the expensive side. But at least they were delicious!
Every single part of our evening here was exceptional. The whiskey was obviously good, and the food was equally delicious. The whole waitstaff went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, and we did!
The meal was delicious. They were the best mussels we have ever eaten! We would definitely go back again. Our server was awesome.
Fun foodie place in the trendy Roanoke Market area. Great bar!
Food is fantastic, cocktails are very inventive, and service is phenomenal. Carrie and Reid add great value to Lucky
Food and service always amazing.
God’s was great, atmosphere as well! Jeremiah was phenomenal!!!! He made the entire dinner come together as an experience that I will always treasure!
The food here is fantastic. I've been several times and there is nothing that hasn't been superb. The menu isn't expansive, but what they do... they do very well.
My only complaint is that the noise level can get ridiculously loud, such that it strains your ability to have a conversation at the table. This is a byproduct of having a very popular bar which shares the dining room, but it can be a bit loud depending on how full the restaurant is.
Jeremiah is has been our server the past two times and he is FANTASTIC! He remembered our names, our food preferences, and really made us feel special. The food is fresh and they are very accommodating.
Meet there monthly with friends. Always good food and great experience. Love Lucky!
The food was amazing and Carla was a wonderful, attentive server. Thank you for an awesome experience!
The restaurant wss extremeiy noisy which made it difficult to carry on a conversation. The food was fair, but over priced for the quality. The drinks were the best part of the meal.
Lucky never disappoints! From the cocktails to the dinner specials, everything is a hit! Highly recommmend!
Awesome as usual!
We had a lovely time! The cocktails were perfectly crafted. The food was amazing. We had a fantastic experience!
Service was outstanding!!!!! We arrived late due to a traffic jam and had tickets for a concert 2 doors down. We told the staff and they were able to get us fed without any extra stress.
We moved here from the North 11 months ago. My husband and I are both oyster lovers, but til we ate at Lucky, we were always disappointed. The oysters at Lucky will nwot disappoint you, no mater where you are from. We also had Shishito peppers which were prepared with a unique sauce and oranges. Very unique and tasty.
For an entree, I had the snapper special which was to die for. It was prepared perfectly with a stew of veggies under the fish which was again interestingly flavored and delicious. My husband had a Ceaser salad and some cooked oysters to top it off. The salad was large, but lacked the true Caesar taste. It was very fresh and simply not to our taste. Others may like this lighter version though, but this is why I gave food 4 stars.
Definitely will be back.
Excellent. Food. Service. Atmosphere were amazing. We will be back.
Great service, truly wonderful food! This will be a "must go" for us whenever we are in ROA!
