COVID street dining so the ambiance was lacking but food was delish!
It was great to have a fine dining experience in the midst of the pandemic - they were so thoughtful, taking particular care with my wife's dietary restrictions. Perfect evening.
fun, energetic, contemporary yet classic, and super delicious
Food was delicious!! Portions were good.
Spectacular oysters and really cool vibe!
Always a favorite.
I love the service, the cocktails, and the food!
This restaurant actually makes me happy! Always a perfect meal, perfect service, and the best bar in Roanoke.
Pauline was absolutely amazing! She made the whole experience. We'll be sure to ask for her every time. My husband and I plan on coming once a month so he can do the bourbon tasting.
Brussel sprout appetizer was excellent - golden raisins were a perfect ingredient. Diver scallops were fantastic - each one was big and sweet. Service was spot on - very attentive without hovering. Cocktails were unique and tasty - bartenders were flexible to deviations. Place has a good vibe. Will definitely be back.
The food and drinks were fantastic. Everything was prepared to perfection. My only negative would be the noise level, but it was the best meal I have had in a long time.
There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful this place is! EVERYTHING from beginning to end went perfectly. The drinks, appetizers, entrees all 10s across the board!! Lucky’s is our new go to for special occasions & celebrations. Reservations are a MUST (only because it is a hot spot & can get crowded quickly). The bar is spacious & comfortable but 1st come 1st serve. Lucky’s does not disappoint.
Waitress was very loud. Restaurant employees were so busy fawning over "the Humphries" because they didn't get their usual table and a myriad of other little details to make their dining experience great that it ruined our dining sitting next to them. Beet salad was great. Cesar my husband had was over dressed. The Scallops were fine in themselves but there was too much going on with the sauces. My husband enjoyed his pork with grits. I did not care for Worcestershire Sauce with other flavors on my plate. The Chocolate Thunder after dinner drink was rather watery with a minute layer of whipped creamy.
The food here is probably some of the best you can hope for here in Roanoke. Go immediately don't even think about it. Entering from a discreet tiny side street you feel like you've discovered a secret alcove. I love the decor and ambiance- it made me feel at least a little like I was in Greenwich village or some very cool spot in Chicago- a nice urban vibe and I felt like I could wear my rhinestone studded combat boots . There was an easy eclectic chic about this place that appealed to me. It was unfortunate that first time to a place we were greeted by a very unfriendly hostess- I was there- Fri Feb 21- a bad vibe from her immediately upon entering that permeated my whole mood about being there-- and after she seated us I felt completely stressed out!! Let's hope maybe it was a her bad night. Hostesses do best when they have a kind of charisma and kind spirit of making you feel comfortable. Our server on the other hand was a dramatic contrast-set us at ease immediately-- Paulina- she was pleasant, friendly, kind, helpful, attentive without being annoying- she made the whole experience wonderful for us- I can't say enough about her. Very creative menu- things you don't see anywhere else in this town, and the bartenders-best around anywhere. I had a Ringo Star and it was absolute perfection I wanted to have 4 but I didn't of course. The Massachusetts scallops were amazing pork shoulder to die for, heavenly caesar salad (and I am a salad connoisseur) the dessert incredibly tastefully presented and all the food being delivered all around looked amazing. It's a small cozy place with an unusual menu and exquisitely prepared food - would be perfect for a romantic dinner or birthday. They compted our dessert as it was a birthday dinner. I cannot wait to go back. Except I hope I don't have to encounter the daunting hostess again. Five stars!
Excellent as always
Always part of our annual trip to Roanoke, Lucky fried chicken is always fantastic. The drink list is fresh and inventive. Be sure to leave room for the bread pudding.
From pre-dinner drinks to apps thru entree’s everything was spot in and outstanding. The only problem was that there are too many wonderful options to choose from and I can’t eat them ALL in one sitting. Looking forward to getting Lucky again soon.
We have been several times, this time we felt rushed, food was good but felt not as described and not awesome. Have had better visits in the past. It’s a unique restaurant, but probably will not return for a while lot of great options in Roanoke.
16 year anniversary, first time at Lucky. We were extremely pleased. The bourbon selection is par none and the food was great. A little tight quarters but they take reservations and service is very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend. We will be back soon!
One of our favorite places to go. My wife and I split the pork shoulder and they do a beautiful job of creating two servings out of one for a minimal fee. Fantastic oysters
and some of the best bartenders in town
Casual with excellent food and fun cocktails. We had an excellent time.
Superb and interesting craft cocktails and very well prepared and fresh food offerings.
The space is very nice, comfy and inviting. The cocktails were delicious. The mussels were yummy, the bread plate and fresh bread were great. I had the scallops which were done perfectly and very tasty. My hubby had the gnocchi, while it was tasty, he didn’t love it. We had the special mashed as a side, also good. The bread pudding was delicious.
Ribeye was amazing as always!
The food, drinks and wait staff are excellent at Lucky. The only reason I didn’t give the overall experience 5 stars is that the cost was expensive relative to other restaurants in the area. I was perfectly willing to pay the price, but it may limit the number of times my wife and I would have dinner there. The only other comment is that the menu seems limited.
Our go to Roanoke restaurant for upscale food, cocktails, and an energetic but unassuming vibe that takes all comers.
Can’t beat the quality ingredients and attentive service. Great wine list. Beautiful presentations!
Waitress gave us great service. We were seated in an awkward table by check in, no people watching and nowhere to go. Rushed us out because of other reservations.
We had a fantastic time! The sitting is spacious enough to allow for not feeling cramped while still having enough tables to accommodate a reasonable amount of clientele. This was my second time going here and I will headed back, especially when the pork belly is in season!
I thought the menu was fairly limited and the food not a good value for the taste/quality.
Amazing service, food and atmosphere.
Lucky is always my fav. Always. Thank God that Roanoke has Lucky. Seriously.
Great service and hospitality. Highly recommend. The food was good but our server elevated the whole experience.
Wonderful as usual!
I love this place. Smaller, focused, and dedicated to quality of your experience. Enjoyable time watching them mix the drinks. More of an art form with a finished masterpiece. Quality food and excellent service. Recommend to folks wanting to enjoy an evening.
Excellent as always. Great fun and drink. Hunter and his crew do a wonderful job.
Had our first dinner date on Saturday 1/22/20.The place was smaller than I thought but I really didn’t like the ambience and the food was great we both had fish. She had the Scallops they were more spicy she would have like but otherwise they were good.. I truly would like to come back again and try something different but overall it is recommended by me and my lady.
Awesome as always
We had a late reservation. Food was delicious! Appetizers were large! Entrees were average size. Excellent value. Atmosphere was a bit loud when we sat down but was not quieted down quickly. Would return in a heartbeat! Great service!
Excellent food and service. Cocktails outstanding.
Always good food and service. Specials very good with he oysters outstanding.
